This is not a love story. This is the story of the hunger inside of me which must be fed before it consumes me entirely…After a chance encounter with a handsome stranger introduces her to The Tower, an institution that trains women in submission, Janie McClusky is irresistibly drawn to the place. But admittance comes at a price, and soon enough Janie is utterly bare and fully on display, … on display, blushing crimson as the men at The Tower thoroughly explore her body, bringing her pain, pleasure, and shame as they see fit.
As Janie’s training begins, there is one man among the group who seems to know her own needs better than she does, and before long she finds herself yearning and even begging for his touch. But if she relinquishes control completely to this captivating stranger and allows him to break down her remaining defences, will there be any coming back at all?
Publisher’s Note: Submission at The Tower includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

This one is for all those people out there who need their dark, kinky stuff to be consensual. That doesn’t mean that some scenes might make a reader pause and catch their breath, it just means that she signed up for this. It is also for people who like there kink to have depth of characters and plot. This story has both of those in spades. The connection between Shaw and Janie is magnetic and that makes their joining even more intense. The humiliation, which is something I sometimes struggle with, just added extra spice to this one. That’s also where the fact that it’s consensual can make or break a readers love of a story. This one is perfect for all erotica lovers. It is the perfect blend of ‘oh I want this’ and ‘what did I get myself into’. If a reader is thinking about dipping their two into this genre then this is the perfect book for that. It is also the perfect book for someone who reads a lot in this genre and would like something a little bit different. It’s a win/win!
I received this book for an honest review. Felicity Brandon has done an amazing job telling this story about a woman’s journey into the world of Submission. When Janie McClusky gets an invitation to the Tower a whole another world opens up for her. When she is introduced to Mr. Shaw who is her guide during this process, she finds herself yearing for this handsome man and wanting everything he does to her as she learns about the pain, shame and pleasure. Will she be able to surrender control to this stranger and allow him to break her resistance? I highly recommend this book and look forward to more.
What a fantastic book! Janie McCluskey goes to The Tower to audition for a position as a submissive in training. The masterful Dom Shaw breaks his own rule, and the Tower’s, and privately trains Janie, on her journey of her self discovery. This story was exceptionally written, steaming hot, and a definite page turner and one I highly recommend!
This is not a love story…that’s the first sentence of chapter one. Janie McClusky has an interview at The Tower and meets Shaw. He conducts the interview and it is not like any you have ever imagined. It does meet all of Janie’s wildest dreams though. Felicity Brandon has quite an imagination and you will enjoy this one.
This was the first book I had read in this genre and the first by this author, and OMG! WOW! Never have I read such an intensely emotional and absorbing story of a woman determined to explore and even embrace her need for submission and masochism.
I adore the way Felicity Brandon’s talented writing took hold of my mind and my emotions and proceeded to submerge my very being into the psychological mindset of a woman who craves total submission, humiliation and pain. And, I loved feeling like I was there for this journey. I loved every single word! This story is not only erotic and exciting, and sinfully sexy, but by letting us into Janie’s thoughts, it is also extremely informative. Janie works hard, extremely hard, to shed the feelings of shame associated with her previously suppressed desires. It was surprising to me to discover the more she submits, the stronger she becomes. Through this encounter at the Tower, Janie, is finally learning to fully accept herself, as she truly is, and to acknowledge that that person has great value.
The characters Ms. Bene so skillfully created along with the myriad emotions she elicited from me will forever live on in a hidden part of my own psyche. Do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK!
I started reading this ages ago, had to put it aside in order to read some arcs and for some reason had never got back to it. A ‘snow day’ gave me the opportunity to finish this and I’m very happy that I did.
Whilst this doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, it doesn’t end at a HEA, or even really a HFN. It warns it isn’t a romance story, and whilst there does seem to be a very wonderful connection between Shaw and Janie, the warning is correct. What we get is a powerful story of a woman exploring her submissive side and applying to enter a training facility to do just that. At first I though this was going to be just a lot of sex with little substance but I actually discovered that this book has depth.
I really felt a connection to Janie and loved seeing her struggles and enjoyment during her time at The Tower. She is a strong and powerful female who owns her sexuality and finds release in her submission. I loved the chemistry between her and Shaw and can’t wait to find out how the story continues – more please Ms Brandon.
I didn’t know how I would react to this not being a “love story” but I just jumped in and started reading. Holy smokes!! This was one hot story that the reader gets to take while Janie searches for something missing in her life. Will she find it at The Tower? One man seems to take a very real interest in her and as he puts her through all the tests required to become a house submissive, we start to wonder if this might turn into something more. Beautifully written but to be honest, there were a few times I kind of cringed a bit and thought about stopping but I didn’t want to do that. I’m glad I didn’t. I really hope we get more of Janie and Shaw in a future book?
