With subs being murdered at a Miami BDSM club, experienced dominant Agent Seth Wilkinson must find his own submissive to “entice” a killer. When he’s paired with Agent Baker Daley he wonders just how much a straight man can fake.Baker Daley knows he can “play the part”; he just needs a chance to prove it to Wilkinson. Being a straight man should have no bearing when his Domme has trained him well … trained him well in the practice and lifestyle of submission. After all, this is just a job, right?
One scene. One intuitive Dom. One sassy sub. The game is afoot…in more ways than one.
As passions ignite and both men grapple with their internal desires, the mission begins to heat up. In a race against time, confusion and danger, they may just discover the greatest threat is to their hearts.

BDSM with a suspenseful twist. This one had me up all night. I highly recommend.
So hot!!
I loved that book. The relationship between Seth and Baker is profound, sweet and so so so hot at the same time!! Wow. I loved the plot and the writing!
I highly recommend it!
I’ll be the first to admit BDSM isn’t my first go-to when it comes to reading material. I have a few favorites, but like everything else involving BDSM it requires trust. I live in perpetual fear – probably unfounded – that I’m going to find myself reading something super triggering or just plain bad. You know the book(s) I’m thinking of.
But this was one book that came highly recommended, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Murder! Scorching hot murder romance, in which the kink is an integral part of the plot! The clouds part, sunbeams and angels descend from on high, the world is right again.
Ahem.
Anyway, the plot is an interesting one. The characters are unique and individual. The two main characters to the side characters like the boss and Baker’s Domme. The kink is discussed ahead of time, safely, sanely and consensually.
And when something happens and one character tries to take things a little farther than he should? It’s handled, appropriately and without shame. Love it!
The “gay for you” trope is considered problematic, for a lot of very good reasons. While Sub Mission is definitely a story of self-discovery, at least on Baker’s part, I wouldn’t say it necessarily falls into the trap of so many GFY stories. Forgive me if I’m putting an interpretation onto the story that the author didn’t intend, but Baker didn’t seem to be particularly married to the idea of heterosexuality to begin with. He seemed to be more welded to his identity as submissive, and as his feelings for his work partner grew he accepted newly discovered truths about himself. There was no Big Gay Panic, no crisis of identity, and no mourning his lost heterosexuality. And personally, I liked that.
Both Baker and Seth were likeable, which is funny because they definitely rubbed each other the wrong way from the start. It was fun to watch them come together outside of the sex scenes, which as I mentioned were scorchingly hot and sometimes not even particularly kinky.
There were a couple of things that could have been handled differently, I suppose. (Well, everything could have been handled differently. McKinney could have written an inspirational Amish romance about dairy farming. I wouldn’t have read it, but they could have.)
A private agency would not have had the jurisdiction to act as they do in this book. It’s fine, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book, but some people who do work in law enforcement may find it detracts from their ability to get into the story.
I can’t imagine any real employer other than one that specializes in sex work where the boss sits in on a scene. I understand why it was done, but… just no. The auditor in me (who is supposed to be gone but isn’t) is sitting here watching the lawsuits pile up.
And finally, the dark moment at the end is a little manufactured. I’m probably guilty of the same thing myself in some of my books, and I still thoroughly enjoyed this book, but it’s just something that stood out. Both of these guys have phones. They’re grown-ass men who know how to use their phones. SEND A TEXT, BOYS. IT WON’T HURT YOU.
Ahem.
While some people will avoid sexually explicit romance or anything related to kink, and that’s fine, this is a fantastic romantic suspense story that I’d recommend to anyone who doesn’t have a specific aversion to that sort of material. It’s fun, it’s smart, and the characters will stay with you long after the story is finished.
So worth the wait! Ever since I read the blurb for this, I knew it was a must read for me. Being the book addicted author loving fan that I am, I stalled T. S. McKinney hard on Facebook. Not only did I discover what a sweet, funny, wonderful person she is, I also found her to be a great teaser. Seriously though, Submission promised suspense, romance, danger, and all the kinky sexiness I love. I got that in spades plus some laughs along the way. Seth’s sexy Dom persona can almost be physically felt and you want to hear while Baker’s giggles and sassy submissive nature ring through the pages. The thing I really loved was how she did the gay for you. Instead of it being the Dom like in so many books, it’s the submissive. What a way to start a series. It will leave you panting, yes panting for more. I can’t praise this author enough. http://www.reviewsforthosewholoveagoodbook.wordpress.com
A m/m romance with a suspense plot. Two detectives are assigned to find a murderer of Gay men. An interesting romance ensues. Steamy stuff with a bit of BDSM.
4.5 stars
Wow! From beginning to end the author captivated me with the words written. I desperately need more from this author.
The character development in this book is fantastic. The author did an excellent job bringing both main characters to life while adding depth to secondary characters as well. The chemistry between the main characters really set the pages ablaze. I’m highly impressed with the attention to detail on world building; everything was vivid and kept me engaged throughout.
I love the pacing in this book. The author knew when to make it fast paced and when to slow it down and highlight the intimacy. It kept me intrigued while adding depth to the relationships. I needed to know what would happen between the main characters but at the same time I didn’t want the book to end. I would like to highlight that the author understands and treats the BDSM community with a high level of respect. That was refreshing to see and the scenes definitely brought heat. I will note that it revolves more around the romantic relationship than the mystery, which based on blurb I wasn’t expecting. That caused a half star deduction. I will definitely be buying the next book.
4.5 stars for an engaging and steamy read!
I loved it!!!
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
Baker and Seth are both operatives in an organization that is dedicated to protecting people and making the world a safer place. Seth is a Dom and Baker is just the submissive he needs to complete the next assignment…but he’s not sure if his heart can take the inevitable rejection that will come from a straight guy pretending to be a gay submissive.
My favorite quote of the story came from Baker after his first night with Seth:
“I, uh, don’t think I’m as straight now as I was this morning.”
This story was really well crafted and made me fall in love with both Baker and Seth and I was happy with it most of the time. There is the standard “he doesn’t love me like I love him” drama from both guys, but it never got out of hand like it sometimes can….and the epilogue makes me so, so eager for the next book!!
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
I really enjoy books where the characters are shocked by their attraction to each other. This was one of those. Baker was never even remotely attracted to a man before, then his work assignment paired him with Seth, agent and Dom. Seth was determined not to fall for the straight guy, but their undercover antics led to him having no choice but to face the fact that he was totally screwed over the amazing Baker. The case the men were on was interesting, but it had nothing on the growing BDSM-centered romance. I loved every moment the two spent together, and I was as giddy as they were with the HEA. I can’t wait for Ari’s story, which I hope has lots more of Baker and Seth!
Oh my!! I just love this book!! Seth is this big bad Dom that’s reputation precedes him. He is looking for a sub for an undercover operation. The sub has to be authentic to fool anyone. Baker fits the bill perfectly, but the only drawback for Seth he is straight. Their undercover op- find the man/man murdering BDSM members. Their is undeniable chemistry between these two. Will they be able to solve the case while keeping their hearts intact?
Um, wow. This was an awesome book that really kept me involved the entire time I was reading it. There is so much going on, all the romance, some pretty hot sex, and a mystery to surround it all. All that equals a book that I plan on reading over and over.
Seth is a Dom. The security agency he works for has been hired to find out who is killing subs in the scene in Miami. In order to do that, he’s going to have to go down there. The problem is that he doesn’t have a sub. His boss finds Baker, who also works for the agency and who is a sub. Baker is perfect, except for one thing. Seth is gay, and Baker isn’t. But Seth makes Baker feel things that he’s never felt before, like subspace, let alone things that he’s never felt for a man.
There are a lot of things that I like in this book, but one of the things that I really like is how well McKinney writes the conflict that Baker is in, as a man who has identified as straight but is now having feelings for another man. That has to be really confusing for him and will do all kinds of strange things to his identity. McKinney also does really well with Seth, and his conflict as a gay man who is interested in a straight man. All these things could end up in terrible heartbreak. I loved how well these characters were written and how good the story was.
I have not read anything by this author before so was looking forward to the new experience.
“Sub Mission” and loving the pun on words; was a magnificent addition to its genre.
From the second I started reading this fascinating novel; I was sucked right along into the BDSM lifestyle of Seth and Baker; almost sharing the special journey to there own personal HEA with them.
The brief premise of this story is that Both work for a private agency that has been hired to draw out and apprehend perpetrators who are targeting wealthy male submissives.
Seth is a Dominant and Baker a Submissive; the twist here is that Seth is Gay and Baker not so much.
Baker has always had mistresses in the past; never a Master and from the minute these two meet it’s not only Seth who is drawn like a moth to the flame.
“Sub Mission” is almost a journey of new depths and discovery for both our men and though we do have a suspenseful background here the main focus of the narrative I found was on the developing relationship between Agents Seth and Baker, and what a beautiful but of so kinky road they do travel; one that I equally enjoyed traversing along with them.
So this is plenty dirty and hot; with some very graphic descriptions, that got me hot under the collar; but were also incredibly romantic and heartfelt.
I could definitely feel the connection and threads that adhered these two lovers like glue.
I adored watching the ups and downs these two faced as they learned together through a series of miscommunications the importance of being honest with each other.
This is told in dual POV; has no OM or OW angst and though light on major secondary characters; I didn’t feel that this was a detriment at all.
I loved the finish and especially how nicely it was set up for Eli and Ari’s story; now that is definitely one I’m looking forward to.
This is one read that gets my seal of approval; it’s well written and entertaining; what more could I ask for.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “Sub Mission” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

“You’re beautiful, Baker…your submission is intoxicating. If I’m not very careful, you could become a drug to me—a habit I might never be able to overcome.”
Agent Seth Wilkinson has been designated a task of going undercover to discover the identity of a murderer that is picking off Subs at the local BDSM club. Agent Wilkinson is an experienced Dom and when he is partnered with Agent Baker Daley, his first thought is this mission is doomed at the start—no way a straight Sub can fool this killer. But after one scene at the club, Baker is the “talk of the town”, and Seth is quickly losing his heart to the one man he knows he can never have.
T.s. McKinney has teased us with a mystery of a killer, but the real story here is the smoldering romance that builds between Baker and Seth. Sub Mission is one smexxy hawt read that I highly recommend!
I’ll never look at a Sweet Tart the same again!! Loved this story, there’s so much snark, sass, devotion, submission, angst, sweetness and love, it was a great read! Baker and Seth were definitely made for each other in all aspects of a relationship!! Don’t miss out on this book!!!
