A New York Times bestseller! #1 New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon brings us back to the astonishing world of the Dark-Hunters in Stygian, with a hero misunderstood by many…but most of all by himself. Born before man recorded time, I lived for thousands of years believing myself to be something I’m not. Someone I’m not. Lied to and betrayed by gods, Daimons and Dark-Hunters, … not.
Lied to and betrayed by gods, Daimons and Dark-Hunters, I’ve struggled to find my way in a world where I’ve been cursed since the moment I was prematurely ripped from my mother and planted into the womb of an innocent woman who thought me her son.
Trained as a slayer and predator, I learned to fit in and stay low. To become a tool for evil. Until I was sent to kill the one woman I couldn’t. My hesitation cost her her life.
Or so I thought. In an act of betrayal that makes all the others pale in comparison, I’ve learned that this world is an illusion and that my Phoebe still lives.
Now I will have to travel into the very pits of Hades to try and save her, even as everyone around me attempts to steal what little soul I have left. There’s only one person at my back and I’m not sure I can trust her either, for she was born of an enemy race. Yet sometimes the road to redemption is one that singes us to our very core. And if I fail to find the answers I need to save Phoebe, more than just my wife will die.
We will lose the world. Both human and Daimon.

This is a story that I have looked forward to reading since Kiss of the Night , the fourth book in the Dark Hunter series and if definitely didn’t disappoint.
With every book set in the Dark Hunter universe, the mythology and the characters expand and grow ever more complex and leave me marveling at the sheer brilliance of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s mind.
I am in complete awe of this author’s talent and the way that she can bring such an unimaginable, unbelievable world to such vivid, brilliant, life.
Stygian was everything that I thought the book was going to be and more.
Watching Urian grow and learn, seeing the struggles Appolites and Daimons face through his eyes – something that had been touched upon but not fully explored in previous books, was eye opening and engendered a great deal of sympathy for the Appolite and Daimon races – sympathy that honestly, I hadn’t really felt much of prior to reading this book.
The thing that I loved most about this book though?
Seeing Stryker and his family through Urian’s eyes – a reader can plainly feel the love that pours off the pages.
Full of highs and lows, secrets and betrayal, this book was an absolute delight to read and I eagerly await reading the next book in this amazing series.
Highly recommended (but probably best to read the series from the beginning and not as a standalone).
extremely boring
I was so sucked into this book I couldn’t put it down! This was a truly captivating book with characters you want to smack up side the head and others you just want to hug and comfort, This is a excellent book to read with wonderful characters and a plot that’s great! This is most certainly a book you’ll want and need to read!!
It was a work night and stayed up all night to read!!! It’s a must!
kenyon phoned this in. It is a rehash of at least 2 other books and has very little original material. She just slapped a new cover on it and then slapped her loyal readers with a hefty charge. I will probably not order another Kenyon book. so terribly disappointed in the book but more so with her.
