I’m the nightmare they never see coming. You, the one reading this right now. Yes. You. I’m going to warn you this one time. Don’t decide to like me. I’m not a good girl.. I’m manipulative. I play games. I’ve done it countless times and I’ll do it again. I can promise you that. With more funding behind me than you can imagine, I can become anyone. I mess with men’s hearts. And when I am done, it is … men’s hearts. And when I am done, it is more than just their money I take, it’s their very sense of self.
The football star. The politician. The surgeon. The artist. They all gave over their love. I hate to tell you how easy it is to make them my own. A little smile. A batting of my big, beautiful eyes. The most powerful fall the hardest.
Did they take part of my soul with them? Try to get me to admit it. I dare you to try. I’ll never say the words you all want to hear from me. I’m never sorry.
Those stupid boys.
I warned you. Don’t. Like. Me.
You’ll regret it.
The authors strongly suggest you read the forward to this book before you go any further. This is the first book in a trilogy with strong, sometimes dislikable characters in a world where few people are as they seem and love comes at a cost not everyone is willing to pay.

This is a combo effort with one I know and one will be the first time in reading. I quickly entered in to see what world they have given me to disappear into. Right away I know I like this girl regardless she says you will not. Holland is not like any woman you will have read that is for sure. This is original which makes for it to be that more intriguing as you get into it deeper. The four she is to go after will no longer be their own. Find out why she does what she does with as you get into this you like her even more. You find you also like the four also even if they are those stupid boys. I would say they are my kind of stupid. The thrills you are given in this by these two will be enough to not scream too loud after the drama starts but will have to hold on until the next one.
I never expected the characters in this book, and I never expected to like them so much. Must read!
Amazing!!! This is a first for me by this duo and I loved it well written characters you love to hate! Couldn’t put it down off to devour book 2!
Stupid boys is so good! It kept me on the edge of my seat to see how it would all come together and then THAT ENDING!
The first in a trilogy, this book takes us into the past with each of these ‘stupid’ boys as they confront Holland James, the woman who destroyed them in more ways than one.
First is the Quarterback, Steven Wolf. With an injured knee, surgery and now the grueling physical therapy Steven is fighting to get back into the game. Little does he know he’s a target for his therapist.
Second is the Politian, Graham Kempner. He is working to follow in his father’s footsteps to the Senate. His father is a womanizing jerk who seems to take pleasure in taking his son’s girlfriends to bed. Graham has some different ideas from his father, and needs to grow a backbone. This time though Graham isn’t letting his father have his way but it was almost too late. Again he doesn’t realize there’s something she’s after and it’s not his HEA.
Then we have the Surgeon, Charlie Dorfman. He’s lacking in bedside manor, but is totally enthralled by Holly. A wealthy man and not all from his profession he is delighted that she doesn’t seem interested in his bank account. Nope she wants something else entirely.
Finally there is the Artist, Jamie Rawlings. He’s been trying to be something he’s not, and Holly brings out the best in him. He’s better with sketching, than trying to paint to follow in his mother’s footsteps. But again that’s not what Holly is after.
Holly not only won each of their hearts she also took something from each of them. Although not without personal cost.
A riveting tale, of deceit, love and priorities. Plenty of heat in more ways than one as Holly does what she has to do.
I really can’t wait for the next book in this trilogy, it’s going to be very interesting.
This book is just one secret after another. Layers and layers revealed before you get a glimpse of Holland. You might think you know who and what she is…a con. However that’s NOT the entire story. Be warned, there is a HUGE cliffhanger at the end. This is a story in part, about what happens when your past comes back to bite you. Holland is a fierce woman with a huge heart. Desperately trying to keep her head above water, stay alive, and keep what’s left of her heart from shattering. Coming face to face with her past has her feeling many things. Join in the fun and pull up a chair to the party. There so much suspense, intrigue, secrets and a ton of layers….this is a very fast paced read that had you constantly curious about what’s next! I can’t wait for book two. My hope is these guys still truly SEE her for the first time. For now it’s just a waiting game
WOW, what an ending! I enjoyed this story. It’s different type of bully story. I can’t wait to see where it goes. I really like Holly a lot. You can see she has suffered so much, and yet doesn’t have any way to change things.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
This is only book, so be aware that ends in a cliffhanger.
Holland only job is to complete “the Job” without exposing herself.
It was supposed to be only a job, but some of her marks were more than a job.
She could never let them get too close.
It will only hurt too much when it was over.
What will she do, when some of the marks wants to turn the table on her ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Violet eyes. Blond hair or dark hair. Killer curves. A beauty with a smirk, some sass, an air of mystery, and of sadness. She warns them from the very beginning; don’t get involved with her, don’t fall for her. But it’s inevitable. They do. That’s when she destroys them. But with some, she destroys a piece of herself too. The football star. The politician. The surgeon. The artist. Holland stole from them but they each stole a piece of her heart, her soul. Now they have found her. Now they are all in danger from HIM.
What a fantastically twisted book! Holland is fabulous, verging on legendary. She’s beautiful and knows exactly how to use her face and body. She’s intelligent and prepared; she knows precisely what a situation calls for, how to read people, and how best to complete her mission. She’s cunning and unintentionally cruel. Hazards of the trade. She’s a complicated woman. Despite what she tells herself, she’s not a bad person. She does plenty of bad things but it doesn’t seem like she has a choice. She’s not the one calling the shots and her safety would be at risk if she ever refused a demand. She’s a puppet and HE is manipulating the strings. This is her life and she’s good at her job but these four men were more than a job. With them, she neared the edge, flew too high, got too close. She’s flawed. So are the men. She hurt them. She hurt herself too. The men want revenge. They want Holly. But they had no idea of the intrigue, the danger they were exposing themselves to and now they will all be lucky to survive. But just maybe by the end, if they make it out, they will have found so much more. Absolutely thrilling! Left me screaming for more, NOW.
Stupid Boys: Stupid Boys Book #1 Kindle Edition
by C.R. Jane (Author), Rebecca Royce (Author)
I received an eARC from the authors and am voluntarily leaving a fair and honest review.
Holland is grifter, working for HIM, she is sent to take from four amazing men – The Athlete, The Politician, The Surgeon and the Artist. Her job is simple, make them fall in love with her so she can get the objects of HIS desire and to do it without falling in love. And to hope that they never find her when she is done. You are going to love her. She has no illusions about who and what she is, but really doesn’t see herself.
The men are not much better. Whether it is the sweet politician or the manic Artist, the men can’t see beyond the image she creates. Personally? I’m in love with the Surgeon.
Like all well laid plans, it goes awry.
Sexy, twisted and darker than we are used to from Ms. Royce, it is a great read. It kept me up all night as the we moved from one narrator to the next as the stories were told.
The love scenes are tasteful but still steamy enough my heart kept racing. The character building is excellent, I particularly enjoyed the way the characters revealed themselves in their less than dependable narratives.
The plot is freaking fantastic! It certainly kept the pages turning.
And the END! OMG!
Don’t expect a happy ending yet, because like the best og Ms. Royce’s books, you are let hanging and jonesing for the next book.

Well holy shit. The is the first time I ever read something of these two authors and it was amazing.
I immediately loved the blurb. But the storyline… damn.
I never read anything like this. The authors changed the game a bit. It was divided in different parts. To me it felt like they introduced and welcomed me to the world of the Stupid Boys. So many POV’s. Going back from the present to the past. And every guy is written so differently.
I thought Holly was amazing. She was so kind even being treated like a toy by her own family. Made me sad to think that she probably never experienced real love. I mean, for years, she played games to get money or other stuff. Just for an uncle who was an asshole.
Graham was definitely my favorite and my least favorite was Jamie. Jamie was a bit to intense for me and Graham was way too cute.
The only thing I disliked was how fast the relationship between the guys and Holly grew with each chapter.
At the end I didn’t expected such a big cliffhanger. And that sucks cause I have to wait for the next book!
Missing something
I really like the concept of this book reminds me of a TV show I watched. I also like how the author broke down the chapters. But, for some reason it was hard for me to connect with the characters. I was hoping for alittle bit more at the end to tie it together better.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Talk about a different type of book. This one was totally new for me which is always quite fun. The FMC is very skilled at going undercover for quite some time until she has the chance to acquire what she was sent for no matter how long it actually takes. Along the way she met three very different men who managed to make their way into her heart making it hard to leave when it was time. Imagine her surprise when these same men team up to hunt her down putting them all in danger without even knowing it. The cliff hanger is a doozy. It was quite enjoyable being able to flash back one at a time to learn how they all got where they are now. Smooth writing that will really hook you into the story. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
No spoilers of any kind included.
I thought Stupid Boys was pretty good and that’s all I’m going to say.
I look forward to the next book because I have to know what happens next.
So it’s a yes I do recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a good story to climb into.
She’s plays her part well, until the door to her closed off heart begins to open.
Each victim, each mark leaves a stain on her soul and now, now it’s starting to affect her ability to forget.
What can she do when they refuse to remain in her past, when they stand before her demanding answers..?
What an unusual and interesting read! I dont think I’ve read anything even remotely like this before.
I enjoyed the snippets into her story with each of the four men, but a part of me couldnt help but wonder if they deserved more. Perhaps a book each, rather than a few selective highlights of their time together.
It almost felt like four novellas, held together by the scene in the present.
Now that I’ve reached the end, I have one big question that’s buzzing round my head like an incessant bee, and that’s “Why them?” I wonder if the answer will come in book two..
The guys whilst different in their occupations were all cut from the same cloth. They fell almost instantly for her various personas.
Does that mean she excelled at her job, or that they were weak men just looking for love, that’s for you to decide.
Whilst I wanted to find out more, and I still do, none of the Male characters made my heart race or truly excited me.
An enjoyable read, but not one that will enter my dreams when I go to sleep tonight unfortunately.
I’m…I’m speechless, SB is just wow. It took me awhile to get into SB but, boy, when I did, I needed to read what happened to Holly, Steven, Graham, Charlie & Jamie. It took some getting used to all the whole back & forth shindig because we are used to reading or watching going forward, after that it’s hard to put down. There were lots of questions that needs to be answered & with that ending I was like WTF, gimme book 2!
Omg Holly is straight talking manipulative , hard , complex ,very complicated and compelling all at the same time I just didn’t know if I wanted to slap her or kiss her lol I was sure at first …tooing and throwing left me confused at first …but once I got further into the book I bloody loved it ….the four men are gorgeous off course …and all got slapped in the face big time …..I also don’t think Holly left with her heart I think she left a price with each of the men ….. I think there’s a lot more going on and I can not wait to find out what …oh and that ending ahhhhhh mind blown
