He’s a librarian by day and the ideal fake boyfriend by night. When it comes to women, I know what they want. And all day long, I give it to them. Dark, broody, and sexy? You got it. Need to laugh? I’m your guy. Desperate for something to put you in the mood? You’ve come to the right place, kitten.Every morning when my library opens, there’s a line around the block, the ladies flocking to me in … block, the ladies flocking to me in need of their next book boyfriend. I’m that dude. The one who knows his way around the romance section.
And after years of study, my skills don’t stop at the day job. Need a fake boyfriend, fiancé, or friend-with-benefits? I know that plot. I also know to keep my heart off the table, because love is only real between the pages of a book.
So when Parker Elliott needs a temporary fake boyfriend for a reunion, of course I step in. She rocks a mean guitar, she has no idea how sexy she is, and we have something of a history.
Easy, right?
Yep. Piece of cake.
Except this time, I’m actually in danger of falling in love.
Stud in the Stacks is 55,000 sexy, hilarious, sometimes embarrassing words, complete with tacos, romance novel love, unicorn parties, and no cheating or cliffhangers.

This was such a ridiculous, smart, fun, hot book! I loved it and loved listening to the audio book – the narration was perfect.
Loved this story. Fun read.
Knox and Parker, Parker, Parker! Loved this sweet book about a male librarian who loves romance novels and has an advice blog. Parker is in an all girl band that plays all boy band’s music and was Knox’s babysitter when she was a teenager. That is just the beginning of the hilarity that this book is about! Not gonna give it away, but I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t enjoy and laugh out loud at the crazy antics of this couple and their families!
Stud in the Stacks by Pippa Grant is a contemporary, friends to lovers, fake relationship, romantic comedy told in dual POV.
Parker Elliott, vice president of marketing at Crunchy, has been tasked with schmoozing former classmate, Randy Pickle, at her high school reunion. What her boss doesn’t know is that Randy is her ex. Determined to go to the reunion with a hot man on her arm, Parker sets out to win a date with Tarzan at the superhero-themed bachelor auction.
Knox Moretti, librarian and romance blogger, has agreed to participate in a bachelor auction to raise money for literacy. When he takes the stage as Tarzan, he’s surprised by the bidding war that ensues. He’s even more surprised when a bidder approaches him after the auction and offers him money to pose as her fiance at her upcoming high school reunion.
Parker and Knox don’t recognize each other at the auction, but they knew each other in childhood. Upon discovering this, Knox agrees to be her fake fiance and date for her reunion. Parker, in turn, agrees to help him with a PR issue and be his fake fiance at an upcoming work function. In the time leading up to these events, they get to know each other better and explore their chemistry. As is typical in these situations, the lines between real and fake quickly become blurred.
I really enjoyed Parker and Knox’s love story. It was hilarious, sweet, fun, smart, sexy and endearing all at the same time. I highly recommend it!
This was my first read by Pippa Grant and what a fun introduction to her style. Knox is a librarian who knows his way around the romance section and he writes a blog as Mr. Romance. Parker is VP at an organic grocery store chain. She has to attend her class reunion in order to try and work a deal with none other than her exhusband. Parker needs a fake fiance for the reunion and who better than Mr. Romance?
This book had me trying to laugh quietly since I was in bed and my hubby was sleeping. Loved that Knox was a romance novel reader and I am looking forward to trying some of the books he mentioned that I haven’t tried. Can’t beat a sexy, well read man. I am looking forward to reading other books by Pippa Grant.
OMG! This book was hilarious!!
Knox is a sexy librarian and Parker is a shy and awkward former geek and VP of marketing for an Organic Foods business. They need each other to act as a fake fiance for work purposes, but end up with so much more.
I found myself laughing out loud so many times while reading this book. I loved the mention of all the romance books too. Some I knew and others I didnt, so of course I looked them up. I loved all the characters, especially Knox’s Nana. She was hilarious.
A great laugh out loud rom-com with lots of hot sex, a sexy librarian and a hot ex nerd.
If you need something light and easy to read, then this should do the trick. I have read several books that reference Pippa Grant, and so here I am. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed by the subtle (or not so subtle!) recommendations.
Well edited.
Parker Elliott is a committed career woman. She has priorities, and they do not include a long-term man or children. Short, sweet, simple. That is what she likes. Except that leaves her having to attend her high school reunion without a significant other or family. And, she will have to face her sort-of ex-husband. (Not really sure that marriage was legal in the first place, but whatever.) Enter the infamous Bachelor Auction. Parker bids on Knox, but loses out to a lovely woman. Parker waylays Knox, and begs him to be her fake fiance anyway. Knox eventually agrees. Then, he needs help. Families are met. Nana is funny and a little crazy. Parker’s brothers are protective, which leads to stalking, and maybe kidnapping, and definitely breaking and entering. When the deal (and side deal) are finished, will Parker and Knox be able to go their merry way? Or, will Knox’s fear that he knows how this will end because 92 (or was it 87) fake fiance romance novels say that it all can only end one come true? With true love and happily ever after on the horizon?
A great morning’s read. Light, witty, fun, and all around lovely. Great recommendation. Thank you to all the authors I’ve read that referenced Ms. Grant. Enjoy!
STUD IN THE STACKS
by Pippa Grant
This is the first book i have read by this author and i will so be reading more. This book has everything you so want in a good read funny, sexy, hot, charming and it will have you falling in love with Parker and drooling over Knox. It’s one of those book you won’t put down and you will need to read where you wont get funny looks when you start laughing out loud. A truly great read that will have you looking up other books by this author. Can’t wait to read more.
Yum!! Always loved a man who could read romance! More hilarity from Pippa Grant! These characters are a firm favourite.
I don’t usually like contemporary romances but this one bowled me over. I loved this book. Knox and Parker Parker Elliott are the best couple. Parker is one tough, strong woman. And her brothers are great too. I’ll be reading more Pippa Grant books without a doubt. Thank you for such a wonderful book.
I was chuckling quite a bit with this one. Knox is awesome. I mean, he’s a hot librarian who reads and recommends romance books and runs a blog….Hell yes I love you. There’s so many great characters in here too. I’m going to keep reading this author because I’m really liking her writing. It’s so entertaining.
Book Review: Stud In the Stacks
Author: Pippa Grant
FIVE STARS
Pippa Grant is quickly becoming one of my favorites to “One-Click”. Her books are filled with laughter and hilarity. You can bet that you will be smiling and chuckling to yourself as you read her books. This one, Stud in the Stacks, is no exception to this.
Knox is a librarian and a playboy who has a personal romance book blog. This man is sexy without even knowing a description of him. His confidence and caring manner is enough to make you want him.
Parker is a Vice President in a marketing firm and she is as backwards, and self conscious as you can get. Growing up she had braces and pimples and was just geeky as can be, because of this she was bullied and teased and now has issues with self confidence and it affects her life daily. She always feels she is not good enough.
There are so many wonderful things about this book. The developing of Parkers confidence is great to see. She even refers to herself at one point in the story as Parker 2.0.
The chemistry between Knox and Parker is so hot that you will keep turning the page to see what they do next.
I am finally taking advantage of the fact I have a Kindle Unlimited Subscription and I am hoping to find more Pippa Grant books there. I want all the words, on all the pages, to keep me laughing.

This book actually had me laughing out loud several times. This is my first Pippa Grant book, but it won’t be my last.
This book is a real page turner. I’m so happy that Pippa Grant writes great books. Some extremely minor spelling errors but only a few unlike most books I read.
This book is hilarious!!! I think my favorite thing about it was that it’s almost like a love letter to romance books. Since Knox is a librarian and romance blogger, there’s so many mentions of amazing books and authors that my TBR grew by about 100 books. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Oh my word!!! Pippa Grant has gained a new fan after one book!!! This book was such a hoot and I never thought I would stop laughing at some points!! I mean don’t get me wrong there were spots that had me upset and almost crying without laughing but there was more laughing than anything. And oh my Knox is such a ham and always flirting. And really doesn’t take much to seriously. And he never settles down but he’s always playing the hero. Parker needs a hero or well some arm candy to show up with her to her high school reunion so she bids on Knox but loses. But after some circumstances Knox agrees anyway. After some mishaps and a lot hot chemistry and off the wall craziness this turned out to be one hell of book!! And I can’t wait to read more by her!! I highly recommend this book!!!- By Tina
Hilarious! Heartwarming! Heated! Stud in the Stacks is all these things and more. Parker is 30-something, holds her dreams job as a marketing executive, and plays in a cover band with her girl friends. Still, she’s holding herself back from her best life due to emotional scars from her rough high school experience.
Knox is handsome, charming, smart, and his profession (librarian) and hobby (book blog) are all about discussing his favorite thing: romance novels. Life is good.
On top of all that, there’s a doting mother, an inappropriate grandmother, several OTT brothers, a snack called unicorn poop, and many, many terrific book recommendations.
Laugh out loud, funny…also hot …loved it!

What did I love about STUD IN THE STACKS by author Pippa Grant? The better question is, what didn’t I love about this book? With a heroine who’s less awkward than she thinks she is, a main man that is smart, sexy, and, oh, yes, he loves books, and so many laugh-out-loud funny moments that I embarrassed myself in various locations around town while reading, this is a book that instantly stole my heart.
I think that it is awesome that Pippa, a writer of romance novels herself, has no problem taking the oft-times maligned genre and running with it. From giving a nod to other romance writers (by name and title, mind you!), capturing the fan base so very wonderfully, and even hitting on recent current events within the community, she has done a stellar job of giving we readers exactly what we want, a book for romance lovers about romance lovers, with fabulously zany characters and a plot line that makes this one of the most riotously satisfying reads that I can remember.
Pippa has, thankfully, brought back all of my favorite characters from MR. MCHOTTIE, her first book, and given us even more fun with the introduction of Parker’s brothers. I mean, laughing so hard that I couldn’t breathe funny, these kooks are just everything in this book. And, while I love Chase and Sia from the first book, Knox and Parker (and Nana, oh, my gosh, we can’t forget Nana) are one of my most favorite book couples ever.
STUD IN THE STACKS is sitting pretty atop my list of books that fans of the romance genre, or anyone that wants to snort their beverage out of their nose while reading, really, should shove to the top of their TBRs right this very minute. As rom-coms go, you’d be hard-pressed to start your year off with anything better, and I obviously couldn’t recommend it any more highly.
Short review. Fantastic book from start to finished that the only time I was disappointed was when it was over. I adore Know he was sweet, charming and a book boyfriend you’ll wish was real. He’s a big fan of romance books of all kinds and doesn’t hide it he has a blog and people call him Mr. Romance, he’s good at figuring out which book would be the perfect fit for you especially is you are someone who isn’t into romance books. He knows he’s hot but prefers women who are more interested in him for his reading choices than his looks. Parker is insecure woman who can’t help but word vomit when she nerves, she used to be a dork back in high school and even though she doesn’t look the way she did then she still feels like that dorky insecure girl. She’s use to settling for less when it comes to her love life but when she meets Knox everything changes, he shows her what she’s been missing and that one should never settled for less when it comes to romance.
The secondary characters are just as interesting and fun as the main leads you’ll want to read each and everyone on of them finding love. And see if Knox can convince those who are not into reading romance book onto the romance side, which I definitely think he can. There are some surprises that will make you laugh, a few moments that will make you cringe but overall a book that you’ll really enjoyed and want to read again and again.
