Stud was the second book in the Dragon Runners MC series by ML Nystrom. However, it was my first for the series and the author.
Stud was a patched MC member. He was the numbers guy with a law degree who was estranged from his very affluent family. He was also a total man whore.
Eva grew up with five brothers. She was not only the solo female, but she was the youngest. They all worked in the family construction business; which was how she met Stud, as they were building the new MC bar.
Stud was told primarily with a single POV, Eva’s, but we were graced with Stud’s POV mixed in sporadically as well. Nystrom took us through their initial meeting and friendship. Although they were somewhat attracted to each other, they weren’t necessarily drawn to each other except as curious friends. For that reason, the chemistry never really gelled for me. Additionally, it wasn’t safe for my friends looking for a safe read. There was no direct cheating, but Stud was with multiple women well into the book as they were flirting with the idea of getting together. I liked both characters and I liked them together, but that was a hard pill to swallow.
I liked the premise of the story and it ultimately played out well, but it ended a little too abruptly for my liking. I wanted to see a little more fleshed out. A central part of the storyline was Eva’s family drama, which added intrigue and depth. And really, all of her family were total asses, except for Conner. I would love to see more from him. He deserved his own book – the rest of them, not so much, but I did want to see it played out a little further.
All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Although there were parts I wasn’t thrilled with, there were equal parts that I did enjoy. In the end, it was entertaining and fun and I plan to read more by this author.
This is book two in this MC series and again I am torn over this book. The chemistry between the characters and good and there was a lot of powerful emotions in the story. As much as I enjoy bad boys the guys in these books seem to consistently push past what I consider acceptable behavior. I do not want the hero in the book to be basically shoving the other women he’s doing in her face; nor do I want her having to see it. Now, this can just be chalked up to personal preference but for me it’s a huge turnoff.
This if the second book in this awesome series, and is Eva and Stud’s turn. Eva is a strong, confident woman, who works alongside her Dad and 4 brothers in running the family construction business. Stud is a total womanizer, but we get to learn more about him in this story, and a better understanding as to why he is the way he is now. These two are total opposites, yet together they are perfect. This is a well written story, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all MC lovers.

The second book of the Dragon Runners MC, and just so you know who everyone is and all that jazz, I would recommend reading Mute. In Mute we met Stud and his manwhorish ways, never just one girl would do. Eva is part of the construction crew that was hired to rebuild the bar. This was her life, with her father and her five brothers, they move from place to place, from job to job. For Eva, she never really had a chance to bond with anyone that wasn’t her brothers and she is only really close to just one of them. So the Dragon Runners MC is a new concept to her, how nice and welcoming they are, and how nice it is to have female friends. When she starts to have a friendship with Stud, she quickly realizes that for Stud a friendship is all he is capable of. When another brother shows Eva interest and makes it clear that he is up for having something serious with her, will she give him that opportunity? or will Stud make it clear that he is the one that will be serious about Eva?
So, while this was a really good story, I didn’t find it as amazing as I found Mute. A few times Stud really got on my nerves and showed his true self. Finding out his backstory was truly eye opening. I also felt that maybe something more about Eva’s family was needed, but who knows maybe they are getting their own books. This had some really good drama, and it did end up being a quick and entertaining read, so I give this 5 stars.

I am so glad this series caught my eye. I enjoyed Mute, with his mysteriousness and the way he and Kat got to their HEA, so I was expecting good things from the next book. Stud let me down a little in Mute’s book with the way he acted after the accident, so I was happy to see he was book two in the series and I would get to see if he would redeem himself to me or not. Well he did… for the most part. To find out his back story and to see him paired up with feisty, down to earth, Irish blooded Eva was brilliant. I thought these two together were fab and fun but there were a couple of times I wanted to slap Stud before they became a couple properly. Eva, how she stayed with her family as long as she did I don’t know. Well I guess I do because at the end of the day, family is family, but wow she put up with a LOT from them.
A little bit of drama, some sweet and sexy times and Stud was a very enjoyable read. No MC action in this one but it wasn’t needed, although it was good to see the guys again. I can’t wait for book three and give Stud 4.5 stars.
The one thing missing from the description of this book was “sad”. There were some very sad elements of this book, at least to me. In this book Eva’s and Stud’s family and in Table’s circumstances that came up, I found extremely sad. But love and perseverance somehow seem to find a way. The characters grow individually and together and the story is great.
Good story, but I thought Eva’s family was mean
Who is Eva? Who are Conner, Owen, Garrett, Angus, Patrick, and Fergus? What do they all do for a living? How do they know one another? Oh lord, not even 10% into the book and I am in love with Eva! That girl can hold her own. The nickname that Stud gives to her made me laugh, deep belly laughs. What happens when Patrick and Angus keep giving Eva prolems? What happens when she falls? My heart broke for Stud when I read his backstory. I loved his Nana!!! Bea is great too! When Stud takes Eva to meet up with the others, what has happened? Read and see!

Stud was amazing and addictive with an storyline that kept me turning the pages as fast as I can. I had only discovered ML Nystrom earlier this with Mute and have become an instant fan. Stud was everything I wanted it to be and more. For new readers you will love Stud the moment you meet him in book one Mute and won’t be able to resist him anymore in this book two. Here you get to see another side of him that’s so damn badass. Enjoy this book cause I did.
Built & looking like a Norse god brought down to Earth Stud has never had any trouble getting a woman to keep his bed warm but that’s the trouble , once he’s had them he doesn’t want them again no matter how hard they try to catch him . A member of the Dragon Runners MC he’s , he’s their tech & bookkeeper guy & no one has ever looked so hot in a suit & glasses at least that’s Eva’s opinion , the only female part of the construction team rebuilding the club’s bar , she refuses to be a notch on his bedpost so settles for friends . Eva struggles to get her family to see her as a female rather than another work colleague , she doesn’t know what she wants in life yet but spending time with the ladies of the MC make her realise what’s shes missing . Stud has been badly hurt in his past but sometimes you got to go back to move forward but this time hes not going alone & Eva will have his back . A great book that you can read as stand alone but is so much better with the first in the series filling in a few missing gaps .
Who would have thought Stud would be attracted to the Amazon Eva. She sure wasn’t the dainty femmy women he usually found. He liked women. He liked to take them to bed or wherever was handy. He’d fight to protect one if he needed to. Sure didn’t expect to fall for one who could fight -literally – her own battles. With an Irish father and five brothers, working alongside them in their family construction company, she was not his norm.
Eva could hold her own with the guys. With any guy who started something, and often did. Yet there was a side of her she hid from her family and the world. A more feminine side no one knew about. She sure wasn’t into more men in her life. And not the Romeo of the MC club they were working for on their current project.
Stud didn’t know why he couldn’t seem to stay away. Maybe she could be his first female friend. Or Maybe not.
Watching them learn about each other, their other sides being revealed, and the battle with her family was a reading experience you don’t want to miss. I thoroughly enjoyed this different MC read with a uniquely strong woman learning about the other side of herself.
Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
I’m torn on how to review this. I really really liked the first book in this series (Mute) and was excited to see what this book would bring but I found my self a little disappointed. Both characters were great. I liked both their personalities but together? I just couldn’t see it. I mean, we go over 8/10th of the book with a few kisses…. a heavy attraction……. and then when they did finally admit their feelings I was already over it all.
This is supposed to be an MC book and while we get to see characters that we love from the first book, there was no real club scenes. It didn’t have club drama that I really love when reading an MC novel, that didn’t bother me a lot, but where there was issues, by the end of the book things felt so unresolved. I won’t go into details because that would spoil.
I liked Eva the most. She was so smart, determined, just all around an amazing heroine. Her family was another factor that for the w me in. They were amazing or anything, they truly did have me curious about them the whole time.
To end this review, I guess I will say I was expecting and hoping for something more. Not a whole lot happened for the first 3/4ths of the book and it kept me from being extremely engrossed in the story as a whole. While this wasn’t my favorite book, I will say I want to read more in this series and I really hope that Table gets his book next. What happened with him in this book has me a little stir crazy. 2.5/3 stars #2OCCJD
He burst into laughter, head back and mouth open. Mission accomplished. I smiled at him, finally relaxing. He tagged me at the back of my neck, pulled me in and kissed me lightly. “Love you, Cactus.” he said, before grabbing the biggest fork and digging up a massive scoop of chicken salad.
Oh my gosh, I wasn’t sure I could handle Stud’s story. Definitely the definition of “manwhore,” Stud was everything a hot MC member is known to be, until … he isn’t. Betsey obviously loves Stud, so that gives him some hope for substance, but it wasn’t until I truly got into this story that I realized I think I may love Stud.
There’s a lot about Stud that he doesn’t share, and much of this is what pushes him to be the way he is-uncommitted. Now, his reasons are justified, but his continued actions are not. In fact, at the beginning I felt like he was using Eva just to have someone to escape to so he didn’t have to own up to all the floozies following him around.
Eva is a character I totally looked up to. She worked hard, daily, and was so creative, confident, and talented. I definitely hated how her family treated her, though. She had to hide anything remotely “girly” about herself and they made her feel ashamed if she couldn’t do things the same way or held other interested. If those Dragon Runner men didn’t get her family, I was about to!
I found this story had a little more of the “it” factor it’s predecessor was missing, but there were parts of the story that felt a little unfulfilled to me. Even with that, I definitely enjoyed this story and totally fell for Stud. The next book better be about Blue, though, because that poor guy need a lady to take care of him & his kiddos!
I have been anticipating this book since I finished Mute, book #1, of the the series. And M.L. did not disappoint!! Wow, who knew the “stud” of the Dragon Runners would be brought to his knees by a hard working, fed up with her family, muscled, yet yearning to be a girlie girl, woman. But that’s exactly what happens! And I enjoyed every page of their journey to get there. My heart even cried a little when the secrets started coming out. M.L. should be proud of her work and I can’t wait (and hope) for book 3.
This is one that I had to enter in the next one that came along since I let this author capture me in the first one. The name not one of my favorites but he is so fine whom meets up with Eva. She can hold her own especially where she has had to walk. The two personalities make for some excellent reading as they slowly pull each others emotions as this author pulls ours. The layers will also be peeled away as we see the insides of these two with since the focus is on them we get their story more. You quickly get consumed by these two with adding more to this series.
Eva MacAteer works with her brothers and father in their family run construction business of building pubs and bars and it’s not easy being to only girl. She builds herself her own home/trailer so she can have some space instead of living in an R.V. with everyone else. She dreams of following her own path but knows she can’t let her family down.
Stud is a member of the Dragon Runners Motorcycle Club and is a known womanizer who does not like to be tied down to any woman. Yet there is something different about Eva that draws Stud in.
But when Eva sees for herself the man that Stud is she wants nothing to do with him until an event brings the two of them closer together.
Will Eva have the chance to live her own life and will Stud discover what is most important to him before it’s too late?
I really enjoyed this book and it is the first one I have read in the series.
I liked Eva and I loved how she built her own little home and how talented she was with her sewing and creating without anyone else even knowing. She worked her butt off and did and great job and then everything went sideways. I felt so bad for how she was treated by her father but I loved how Connor was with her.
Stud was such a womanizer and knew he could have any that he wanted. I loved the conversation between him, Eva and Bambi. That had me laughing so hard! I also really liked watching the change in Stud as he got closer to Eva. I was not expecting any of his past and it definitely threw me but it explained so much!
The end made me so mad with Eva’s dad and everything he said and did. Once again I was so proud of Connor. I was also really happy that Stud promised that he was done with the random women and ready for Eva!
Such a great book and I really liked the epilogue! Looking forward to more! – By Rebecca

After meeting Stud in the last book I was really looking forward to his story and seeing who could tame the player to end all players. Something about Stud was just irresistible. He may have more notches in his bedpost than anyone else ever, but his genuinely kind heart always shined through. Eva may not be who I expected for Stud, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t absolutely perfect for him.
Tough, both physically and mentally after spending her life surrounded by men and being treated like one of the guys she fights daily to not only prove her worth but also hide the more feminine side of her. I loved how as she spent more time with not just Stud but also the amazing women of the MC her confidence grew and the sides of herself she kept hidden became something she was proud of.
The romance between Stud and Eva was quite the slow burn. With many blocks in the road they take their time falling, but when they finally do it’s incredibly sweet. I wasn’t a big fan of everything that went on with the back of forth of the slow build between them. At times it even dragged a bit for me, but overall their story left me excited and looking forward to more in the series.
We get a glimpse of Stud in book one of the series and he is a manwhore, but we get a really good look at him and why he is that way in this book. Eva is part of the family construction crew hired to rebuild the bar. Her dad and her four older brothers ride her hard and treat her like one of the guys. Stud being the financial wizard of the MC works closely with the crew. They start out as being friends because Eva doesn’t want to get caught up in his revolving door of women, but when one of his brothers shows interest in Eva all bets are off. They have this push and pull relationship neither of them wanting to give the other an inch. When Stud is summoned by his family to his grandmother’s birthday party all sh*t hits the fan and I felt so much compassion for Stud. That, right there, is why he is the way he is. Will Stud and Eva have their happily ever after?
Stud is Dragon Runners book two, but can be read as a standalone. I recommend reading the previous book, Mute, for a deeper understanding of the MC.
Ava meets Stud on her job site. She and her family have been hired to build a bar for Stud’s MC. Stud, an intelligent man who loves the ladies, is intrigued by Ava, but refuses to be tied down. The spark between them leads to a sweet and slow burning romance. Stud had me wary in the first book of the series, but Ava is the perfect woman to take him down a peg or two.
Overall, I enjoyed Stud, but it lacked the grit felt during the first book. It was a much lighter read. It was still easy to get lost in, and a quick read. I’m excited to see what happens next to the Dragon Runners.
Stud is book 2 and a standalone in the Dragon Runners MC series. Just like book 1, Mute, the author has given us a great storyline with strong, down to earth characters that you’ll simply fall in love with and s storyline that will have you smiling, laughing and cringing as you turn the pages.
Stud is just that, a sexy biker that not only that has women lining up just to be around him, he plays in a band, is a wiz with numbers and has secrets that haunt him daily. It’s due to his past secrets that Stud is a confirmed bachelor and doesn’t do attachments. Eva is part of the family owned construction crew that is rebuilding the Dragon Runners Bar. She is the lone girl and works with her Dad and four brothers. Not having had a mother in her life to help refine her, Eva has grown up as tomboy and she can definitely hold her own against anyone. But she secretly wishes for a more “girly” lifestyle, instead of the roughed ruffhouse life she’s used to. Eva also has a huge secret crush on Stud however he just wants to be friends.
As events happen and secrets come to light, the storyline takes off. The author will take you on a wild ride that will have you laughing one minute and saying OMG the next. The characters will steal your heart and have you rooting for a happy ending. I highly recommend reading this exciting, funny and very well written storyline. You won’t regret it.
Stud and Eva’s story is one that once you start you can’t put down. Stud lives up to his road name and no one has been able to settle him down yet. Eva is one badass woman with a heart of gold. She is the only girl in her family’s construction business and keeps up to her father and brothers like a champ. The family construction business was hired to work on the club’s new bar and that’s how Stud and Eva meet.
It was great reading about such a strong woman who was finally beginning to see that she needed her own life. Eva had so much to offer. Stud was a man who suffered as a child and as an adult by his screwed up family only to become a good man on his own accord with the help of his MC family.
The Dragon Runners MC is a series that has given me two great books and l look forward for the next book in this series.
