Playboy. Gym rat. Womanizer. I’ve been called them all. Until one-night changes everything. Changes me. Trying to drown a broken heart in cheap whiskey and a willing body leaves me with the last thing I ever expected. All that matters now is my son. There’s no room for anything, or anyone else. Until her. A free spirit. A nomadic soul. She intrigues me. She excites me. She’s everything I never … me. She excites me. She’s everything I never knew I needed.
In the end, loving her was the easy part. It was letting her go that almost ruined me.
Struck is a surprise baby/single dad romance and can be read as a complete standalone.

TJ is going through a tough time, and reacts by pushing away his family and spending his time drinking and fighting. After a wake up call, he finally gets himself together and focuses on his family and the gym he owns with his brother. Breeze is the youngest of her four siblings, raised by her older sister after losing both parents at young ages. She is a free spirit, working to save up money to travel the world like she’s always dreamed.
When his friends have a baby, TJ is at the hospital to visit when he takes a wrong turn and is confronted by a woman he doesn’t know. He learns that his one-night-stand wake up call was pregnant but died shortly after giving birth to his son, who he didn’t know existed. Suddenly his life has a new focus and he gives everything he can to being a good dad for his baby boy.
Bree is hired at Flex, TJ’s gym, as a yoga instructor and when she is so good with the baby, TJ also hires her as a part time nanny for him. They have been attracted to each other since meeting, but neither wanted to act on it for various reasons. Until of course they couldn’t help it.
This was a pretty good book. A couple times Bree’s age would show in her reactions, but TJ was mature enough to talk things through with her so they could work things out. The best part of this story though was all the interactions with baby Abel. They are both so good with him! TJ and Bree are good together, and their family and friends support system is incredible.
3.5 Stars
I very much enjoyed the first two books by Emma Louise- Score and Fixed. And while I liked Struck, it just didn’t hit the mark for me. I liked the premise of the story, I liked the characters- TJ and Breeze-, I liked catching up with the characters from earlier books, but I felt like there were just so many gaps in the story- not so much that you don’t have a complete story (because there was), but that so much more could have been said, explained, elaborated upon. On top of that, I felt like the story was told to me, rather than experiencing it (that show, not tell).
I’m probably in the minority here, not loving Struck. I liked it enough that I certainly wanted to finish it. And I will certainly consider other books by Emma Louise.
3.5 Stars
Struck is the third book in the Flawed Love series. It’s a single dad romance, which is one of my favorite tropes, ever.
In a night where TJ just wants to forget, he does so in losing himself, but it’s also a night that changes his whole life. Without knowing that that one night will become life changing and it’ll be something he never expected, but everything he never knew he needed.
Breeze has her mind set on a plan for her future and doesn’t want to lose sight of that. But sometimes life has a way of changing the course, and, well sometimes it’s for the better.
I don’t know if it was because in my mind I saw TJ’s story going a different way or the simple fact that my heart wanted something else and that’s why I really didn’t find a connection. And that obviously is on me, and of my expectations. I know I may be in the minority here in not fully enjoying this book, but better to be honest than a liar. I will say though, that I am looking forward to the next book.
I was not prepared for this book! After reading Score and Fixed I thought Struck was going to go in one direction and I was shocked it went in the other direction! but, I AM SO IN LOVE! I am so glad this didn’t go the way I thought it would – Struck is PERFECTION! Emma Louise is an amazing author! I was so excited for TJ’s story and it was honestly way more epic than I ever thought it could be! WOW!
*I know this is all vague, but I hate spoilers – just do yourself a favor and read this book!* FIVE STARS!!
Holy Mother of Single Dad Romances!!! TJ has completely stolen my heart! Between the grey sweatpants and picturing him and Abel skin to skin after he was born!!! *SWOON* This book is so flipping amazing. I read it in one day and I could not get enough of TJ and Breeze! I LOVE LOVE LOVE single dad romances (they are my absolute favorite trope) and TJ is sitting at the top of my list of all time favorites. I was constantly torn between wanting not being able to read fast enough and wanting to slow down because I didnt want the story to end! I definitely recommend this book! I know that I will certainly be adding this to my “read numerous times” list! Great job, Emma!!! You NAILED this one!!!
This is Emma Louise’s third book and I’ve loved every single one of them and think TJ and Breeze just might be my favourite! Her writing is so enjoyable to read and it keeps getting better.
The depth of intense emotion and angst at the beginning of this book took me by surprise and captured my heart and my interest immediately. TJ is struggling with his feelings, not just about a woman, but with his life. Drinking, illegal fighting and bad decisions take over. The result of that is an adorable baby boy, who TJ ends up raising alone.
Breeze starts working at the gym TJ owns and ends up helping him out by babysitting as well. TJ can’t seem to help being rude to Breeze over and over again, and she can’t seem to help finding him ridiculously hot regardless of how he treats her. His behaviour was infuriating, but entertaining, especially knowing he was battling his attraction to her. All that time spent together leads to the inevitable, and the inevitable is swoon worthy, steamy and had me crying happy tears.
Sometimes old dreams need to become new dreams to find happiness.
This is my first time ready a Emma Louise story. I have had heard good things about her previous ones and I was not disappointed. Struck can be read as a standalone and would not distract from the story.
At the very heart of Struck, it is a true love story. It is a story of second chances and finding love in unexpected places. We are introduced to TJ, who finds himself in a dark place seeing the love of his life with someone else. His downward spiral hits rock button when he is hit with a piece of unexpected news that makes him re-evaluate his life. It shows us his strength of character and his willingness to put someone else before himself.
Bree was a perfect compliment to TJ. Her willingness to jump into the unexpected and embrace them, endeared her to me as a genuine character.
The story was simple, beautiful and full of heart that made me happy while reading. It has a perfect blend of everything, and I would highly recommend this book to others.
I was both very excited and scared to read Struck by Emma Louise. I have been waiting for TJ’s story since the first book, Score. Though this is billed as a standalone and each story is about a different couple, they are interacted. I would suggest reading in order, Score, Fixed and then Struck and highly recommend each book.
We met TJ in Score and know he has history with Lucy. I always assumed his story would be with her, but as their journey continues in Fixed, we learn things are not going well. In Struck, TJ is hit with a surprise he never saw coming and changes the course of his life. Though he sees himself as a damaged and broken man, we see how caring and patient he truly is. Abel changes his life and he is determined to be a good man and father. He does not think he has time for any woman in his life, but then he meets Breeze.
Breeze is biding her time to follow her dreams and travel. She is working to save money and takes an opportunity to work in TJ’s gym. She never expected to meet TJ and Abel and have them steal her heart. Though TJ tries to push her away, the more time they spend together, the harder it is to deny their chemistry. But is TJ ready to let her in and will Breeze leave it all behind to follow her dreams?
I loved TJ, Breeze and Abel’s story. It was sweet and charming, and I loved seeing these characters grow separately and together. Their journey was not always an easy one, but you could feel their connection. Struck by Emma Louise was an adorable read and one I recommend.
Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.
Happy reading!
Emma Louise has magic hands. Struck, like her other books, is fluid. Not at all boring and tiring.
Breeze and TJ are adorable. I was amused by their interactions and I could feel the chemistry between them. TJ is exemplary, one hell of a book boyfriend. Breeze is awesome, there is no way you won’t like her.
Abel was a great surprise. He is one of the best babies/kids in the fiction world. I don’t like babies and kids in real life, but I do in fiction. The problem is, not always the baby/kid is well used. Now and again they are only there because the creator need them to the story, but is not really a part of the story. It doesn’t happen here. Abel is a part of the story, a character with his own personality. For me, Abel made a big difference.
I adore how many new interesting characters Struck has. I am already hoping some of them will get their own books. And it was lovely to read about the characters I already knew. Poppy was fantastic.
Struck caught me by surprise. I didn’t even read the blurb before I read Struck so I had no idea what I was getting into, but I loved it.
Abel, Breeze and TJ will make you swoon. I loved their relationship. They scream family. Sruck is excellent, go read it.

This storyline and its relatable characters is an example of why I love reading romance.
Emma has been a long time romance reader, then a blogger before becoming an author, so she writes precisely what we all want to read.
She has just the right amount of slow burn, angst, details, feeling, and conflict, and with all 3 of her books, I have never once rolled my eyes.
She also has THE MOST GORGEOUS book covers.
One night in the past has changed TJ’s life forever – but for good.
Hot guy with a baby? Um, yes, please!!
The events that led up to TJ, finding out the result of that night was unique.
It takes talent nowadays to create authentic ideas.
TJ is Keir’s twin brother from Score.
They co-own a gym.
Breeze is smart, independent, caring and hired to be a yoga instructor for the gym, but became a babysitter, as well.
They tried to fight their attraction for each other, but their sexual chemistry was through the roof.
Emma’s pacing and flow of unfolding a story is spot on and is only getting better with each book.
She’s an automatic one-click author for me.
*Rubs hands together. I can’t wait for Hayden’s book.
A standalone in a series with interconnecting characters
Told in dual POVs. Thank goodness because 3rd person DOES NOT pull me into a story.
Emma did a fabulous job with Struck, I was captivated from the Prologue and boy did the story give me so much more than I was expecting the more I read. I devoured Emma’s words and loved the characters.
Struck is the story of TJ, he has been dealt a shit hand in the relationship department and then his life was thrown an unexpected curve ball by finding out he has a son Abel. The self proclaimed ladies man adapts to a brand new life as a single dad, now this element pleased me no end because single dad books are one of my favourite troupes to read so I’m not going to lie I swooned hard for TJ.
Enter Breeze, she’s the new Yoga Instructor hired at the Gym TJ owns with his brother Keir. She’s stands out with her pink hair and her inquisitive mind. She’s beautiful and has a plan for her future one that she doesn’t want to loose sight of. TJ & Breeze have an insane chemistry that is palpable through the pages, they just have to work out if it’s a forever thing or just right now. You will have to read the book to find out.
I thoroughly enjoyed Struck, it is a recommended read for me.
This story didn’t disappoint.
I enjoyed reading this book so much. U literally read it start to finish in one go. I just couldn’t stop. I loved the characters and the storyline was brilliant. Highly recommend this book and series.
After a hot one night with Lucy, TJ is scared of his feelings for her & successfully pushes her away…into someone else’s arms. One night of a drunken bad decision leads to a life changing event. When Breeze, the new yoga teacher at his gym, catches his eye, he keeps his distance. After all, she’s too young, he has a new priority in his life & women are no longer on his radar. But he’s helpless to fight his growing attraction to her. Can he open his heart to the woman who’s managed to work her way into his & his son’s life, knowing her plans to not stay longterm?
This book took a different direction than what I was expecting. Even though I had high hopes for Lucy, it wasn’t meant to be for the two of them. I’m hoping there may be a Lucy book in the future. Looking forward to the next book!
I have been waiting for TJ’s story since meeting him in score and he did not disappoint! I loved him and Breeze together and then add Abel to the mix and you have an ovary explosion. I mean who doesn’t love a hot guy being a awesome dad? I loved how from the very start Breeze treated the baby as her own. This book will give you all the feels! I can’t wait to see what Emma has in store for us next!!!
Struck is the third book in the Flawed Love series, this time bringing us a single parent romance. I always appreciate Emma Louise’s writing, it is always so easy to read, has plenty of depth and flows just beautifully. She never fails to keep me engaged and her prose and style evokes every emotion in me.
TJ and Breeze’s story was amazing. They shared so many wonderful and touching moments in the story, especially the times spent together in taking care of TJ’s son. Breeze is a terrific character. She lives and embraces life and opens her heart to TJ and the rest of his family. The two of them had so many great scenes together and their chemistry was off the charts. Their slow-burn really was worth the wait. I loved these two and they were totally perfect for each other.
I loved every moment and every word of Struck. It was sweet, sexy, full of swoon and brimming with all the feels. It was totally unputdownable! Emma Louise is incredibly talented and am so excited to see what comes next from her.
I love this series! I fell hard the moment I opened the first pages of the first book, and I’m so glad we finally get TJ’s story.
He’s a jerk, but finds redemption for all of his transgressions in these pages. TJ has met his unexpected match in Breeze, and she’s just as fantastic and lovable as they come.
It’s fascinating to see the turn-on-a-dime he goes through with the revelation of Abel. I love these characters, this world and adored this sweet, swoony love story.
Recommend!
One night culminates a string of screw ups for TJ, he just doesn’t know it yet. Just when he is getting his life straightened out, he is hit with the most mammoth curve ball of all. He takes that hit and comes out better on the other side, shadowed somewhat by guilt. Now he is focused on running the gym he owns with his brother. Life was moving in the right direction when a girl with pink hair is suddenly all he can think about. When Breeze took the new yoga instructor position, she didn’t know it would change her entire life.
I don’t want to give too much away, suffice it to say that this was an amazing read! If you have read the two previous books by Emma Louise, this is Kier’s twin brother TJ finally getting his happy. You don’t have to have read the previous two but it does deepen your understanding of TJ. He finally gets his head on straight and knows a good thing when he discovers Breeze. Breeze is an awesome character, she embraces life and opens her heart to TJ and the rest of his family. She is perfect for TJ and he is perfect for her. I loved every moment, every word of Struck! It was a sweet read, sexy and full of feels and I didn’t want to put it down. Emma Louise is incredibly talented and I cannot wait for more fabulous reads from her! All the stars for TJ and Breeze!
TJ TJ TJ. You made me swoon
After a rough patch and a fated visit TJ’s life is thrown a curveball and is blessed with Abel. Just when he has his hands full and couldn’t want anything else, in steps Breeze turning TJ’s head.
Breeze wasn’t looking for a permanent job just a stop gap before following her dreams of exploring the world. Until TJ and Abel crawl into her heart.
Having read the first 2 books in the series I couldn’t wait for TJ’s story. He was such a playboy in his appearances in book one I wanted to see how his journey played out. Come on who secretly doesn’t love an asshole? Lol Well Emma Louise did not disappoint at all. TJ is my favourite of all 3 guys in this series. Need me somemore TJ!!!I couldn’t put it down and was sad when I had no more pages I didn’t want their story to end. Hot single dad smart independent woman. What more could you ask for?
Can’t wait for Emma Louise’s next book
TJ thought Lucy was in for him but she moved on with someone else. When he finds out, he goes out for the night and meets someone. That night will change his life forever even if he doesn’t know it at the time. Breeze’s car breaks down on the way to interview so her brother takes her. She needs this job but isn’t so sure about how she did at interview. She can’t keep her mind off the other man in office. What will TJ do when his life changes unexpectedly? Will Breeze get the job? Will anything happen between the man she saw?
Struck is the third book in the Flawed Love series, this time bringing us a single parent romance. Emma Louise and her writing is always so easy to read and flows beautifully. She has never failed to keep me engaged and even if you have a good idea of what is coming next her prose and style still evoke the emotions from me!
TJ is the Hero of Struck, Keir’s twin brother (from Score, book 1 in the series) he is a guy pining after a girl he just isn’t compatible with, bumbling through life with booze, women and illegal fights. Until he shows up at the hospital for the birth of his Nephew and his world tips upside down. TJ is a huge softie at heart, hot guys with baby’s is like Kryptonite to us romance lovers and Emma Louise knocked this element out of the park!
Breeze is the heroine in Struck, she is a family girl at heart, still finding her way in the world and applies for temp job as a yoga instructor before she heads off to travel around Europe. Both characters are easy to like and their connection is endearing and so believable. Emma writes the smaller touches perfectly, with the gentle caresses, longing glances this girl knows how to build up the romance. Struck is a book filled with just that, a perfectly sweet, heart warming romance, with a swoony hero and a heroine that is adorable to read about as she creates her own family with TJ and his son Able.
Whether you love single parent romances or not, I don’t know how you can’t enjoy Struck, it flows well, Emma’s writing is engaging and has depth. Her characters are likeable with a touch of heat and humour it’s just a well rounded romance novel. I always look forward to what is to come from Emma Louise, she has a fan for life in me!
