The fourth, and final novel in New York Times bestselling author Kelly Elliott’s Meet Me in Montana series fires up the passion in a story about forgiveness and finding your soul mate.
Strong Enough is a stand alone novel in the Meet Me in Montana series.

This is the last book in the Meet Me in Montana series and I am so sad. I really love this series and I hate that it is ending. It is one of those series that I sat down and read book one on Friday and then continued to two, three, and onto to this one the final book. This is Merit and Dirk’s story. This is the ONE Big ONE that I think we have to wait and watch for throughout the entire series. We have seen hints of these two from the other books, yes you can read this as a stand-alone but WHY would you want to? Young Cowboy Blayze, I hope at some point author Kelly Elliott will circle back around and give us his story. Because this young man from the age of 5 calling “Dibs” on all the pretty ladies that come into the family’s circle and end up as one of his aunts, well we need to know HOW Blayze ends up in life. Does he follow his daddy Brock and Uncle Tanner and Dirk and go to the Rodeo circuit or does he become a rancher like his grandpa and Uncle TY? Well, I go off of the book her this is Dirk a long family friend and Merit his best from high school. Things happened in the hayloft, words or words said that should not have been saying and Man oh Man Merit took for parts afar. BUT she is back now and looks better than ever and Dirk wants to touch every time she is near. OH my, what a way to end this series!!
I absolutely loved this book and didn’t want it to end. The story was full romance and so many heartwarming moments. My emotions were all over the place, but it’s a ride I would take over and over again. Dirk and Merit’s chemistry was off the charts right from the beginning, I was so happy they got a chance at a happily ever after.
The bond between this group of friends/family is heart-warming and so amazing; I’m so sad to see this series end.
You cannot go wrong with anything this author writes, this book is another great example of her talent.
This is a great example of what a narrator can do to an audiobook. I haven’t liked the last two audiobooks in the series, but the story was good. I love the first one and I realized halfway through this book that it was the same male narrator. Alexander Cendese has a way of emerging himself into the characters with such excitement. I laughed and I cried with him. Dirk was my favorite of all of the men, and that’s saying a lot because they were all HOT! I loved this series, but I wish that Ty and Tanner had better narration, especially the second book in which Kaylee is supposed to have a southern accent.
The women narrators in the first and last audiobooks met their match as well. I never tired of listening to the story. It felt like I was living my life with them and that they were my friends. It makes me want to move to Montana and find people like the Shaw family.
I also love the fact that although this book was steamy, it wasn’t as much as the previous book when it felt like it was all about lust and not love. This was a love story in the making and it was very good. I totally recommend listening to the first and fourth book, but we do the second and third.
This is truly a beautiful second chance love story. It’s story of redemption and love, it’s a story of two people that are truly connected with their souls.

Dirk Littlewood (Heartthrob) brings Meet Me in Montana the final story in the series to a close and you will not be disappointed…
Dirk is a player and loves his women but one woman in particular always had his heart. Merit is basically the one that got away until she shows back up in town. The people closest to Dirk doubt that he can settle down and be a one woman man but what that don’t understand is the love he has for Merit. I don’t doubt that Merit can settle Dirk’s playboy ways but it will be a test for both to understand the true love they have for each other. A love they can no longer FIGHT…

This is the final novel in this series and it was everything I wanted it to be.
This book was angst OVERLOAD and I was LIVING FOR IT.
I am an angst lover so this was the perfect fit for me. I loved the characters and the plot it self was perfection. Dirk and Merit had some life to work through but their journey was beautiful. This book brings the swoon but it also brought ALL the emotion. I would say this is the most emotional of the 4 novels in this series but also the perfect final cherry on top.
“One kiss, and she had me undone. Except it hadn’t been this kiss. No. It was the kiss we shared when we were ten years old and I knew that someday I’d make her mine.”
Merit Eden has recently moved back to Hamilton, Montana to help fix the issues on her family farm. Her family is going through some major issues, and she’s doing what she can to get things back to normal on the farm. She constantly runs into Dirk Littlewood, who is back in town on a break from bull riding in the PBR. He was her childhood crush, best friend, and the one who broke her heart. Dirk is a world champion bull rider, a notorious ladies man, and enjoys his life the way it is and isn’t looking to settle down anytime soon or ever. Until he sees Merit Eden for the first time in eleven years, does he feel like something is missing in his life.
I absolutely loved Strong Enough! It was everything my heart desired for Dirk and Merit! Now, I haven’t read Never Enough or Always Enough yet (I know, I know, I’m working on it – and I am sure I will get more info on their back story than I got in this book), but this one I think will be a favorite in the series for me! I felt so much of what Merit felt when it came to all her feelings for Dirk. The heartache, the let downs; I felt for her so much! But she is also incredibly strong through everything she’s going through. Dirk is a swoony, dirty talking bull rider, and boy, oh boy, did he steal my heart! I love that Merit and Dirk were teenage best friends, and I loved the flash backs we got from both of them. I love how things played out in their story together, and the appearances of past characters and what they’re up to now. I love the friendships that Merit made with all the Shaw wives. These two are addicting, passionate, caring, and have such strong chemistry, and I love that their love / friendship stemmed from when they were younger. There was a lot of heartbreak throughout this story, but also so much love, forgiveness, hope, and second chances. Wonderfully written & I’m sad to say goodbye to this series (even though I have the first two to read now )!

Strong Enough by Kelly Elliott
“Second chance, 5 stars”
Elliott killed it with Strong Enough. I love a good second chances romance and this one hit the spot. Strong Enough is a story about how mistakes and misunderstandings can keep you from the good things in life. About how you can pick up the pieces and move on you don’t necessarily get over it. Plus a little heart ache thrown in. Do yourself a favor and one-click this one.
Dirk hasn’t been able to get Merit out of his head since she came back to town. Why is she still here? Does she plan on staying? Will she ever hear him out? Finally he says enough is enough, and he makes her listen. But like every red-blooded male at times when it comes to Merit, he can’t seem to keep his foot out of his mouth. Will he be able to win her back or is she done for good?
Merit has been in love with Dirk her entire life, much to her dismay. All he seems to do is cut her deeper and deeper. A series of events change their lives forever. The question is, will they hold on to each other or break one another for good? Only one way to find out.

Its no secret I have loved this series from Kelly but honestly I think she saved the best for last! Once I started it I couldn’t put it down until I had devoured every word.
I completely adored Dirk and Merit! The were perfect for each other but Dirk really did need to redeem himself after destroying their friendship years ago.
Kelly completely outdid herself with all the emotion, heart and steam she poured into this one.
Sad to say good buy to this series but I am looking forward to seeing what new tales Kelly is going to bring us.
I absolutely love this series! Kelly Elliott is one of my go to authors. I hav been waiting fir Dirk’s story and I loved it.
Dirk and Merit ha e been friends for a long time. They have amazing chemistry. The timing never seems to work out for them. These two love each other but are stubborn. Dirk loves his job but is ready for a change in his life. He wasn’t expecting Merit to show back up. Merit is the only girl for Dirk but he can’t seem to stop messing up. Will these two be able to have a real chance at a relationship? These two are perfect for each other.
Strong Enough was an emotion filled story that you won’t be able to put down. This entire series is a Must Read!
5 Taking A Second Chance on Love Stars!!!
I’ve been waiting for Dirk’s story since this series began and while I’m sad to see the end of this series, this book is a great way to wrap everything up while giving us a true second chance romance!!
I always knew there was an underlying sadness in Dirk’s heart, but wasn’t ever sure exactly what it was. We’ve had hints thrown at us within the previous books in the series, but Dirk isn’t one to necessarily share his feelings so to finally get to know who he was underneath his gruff exterior was a true joy. This man has a heart the size of Montana even if he doesn’t want to admit it. And when it comes to Merit, he’ll do just about anything to rectify their past.
I loved how Merit loved her family and wasn’t making it easy for Dirk. She’s a woman that knows her worth and what she needs in a relationship with and because he hurt her so deeply all those years ago, she’s making him work for that second chance.
The way these two acted around each other when they saw each other when Dirk came home for a little break, I knew the fireworks were still there for them and with the help of others, especially Blayze, they’re forced to be in each other’s presence and it was just a matter of time for them to really admit how they feel and what it would take for them to have the love they both wanted and needed from each other.
I fell in love with how much Dirk was willing to do to have Merit not only as his best friend again, but to be his forever. He’s a man on a mission and he slowly but surely gets Merit to trust him again in every way possible. Their connection is as strong if not stronger than it was ten years ago, but there’s some bumps in the road to their forever.
Ms. Elliott has ended this series so beautifully bringing everything full circle not only for Dirk and Merit but the entire Shaw family. There were moments I laughed and cried and swooned. I’ve left a piece of my heart in Montana, and I’m secretly hoping we’re going to get to visit this great state and amazing family sometime in the future!!
Strong Enough is the fourth and final book in the Meet Me in Montana series where we finally get Dirk’s book.
When Dirk and Merit were younger, they were best friends and always together. When they were in high school, that all changed in one night with one word. For years Dirk tried to apologize to Merit and to explain, but she would never give him the chance. In Merit’s defense, I understood why she was so hurt. I understood why she felt as if she always came in second. Plus Dirk had always been a runner who was too scared to face his feelings.
This book genuinely tested my patience. Both Dirk and Merit were stubborn and proud characters, and both said things they didn’t mean when they were angry or hurt. There was a lot of push and pull between them, and I was annoyed with Dirk and with Merit on more than one occasion.
In the end, this is a book of second chances, of forgiveness and of happiness. It was great to see and catch up with the Shaw brothers, Brock, Ty and Tanner, as well as their wives, Lincoln, Kaylee and Timberlynn. The series is tied up nicely and we’re given a sweet epilogue that involves them all. (less)
This is HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE BOOK BY KELLY ELLIOT!!!
Ya’ll this book has ALL THE FEELS!!!!! I seriously couldn’t put it down for even a second, I was so hooked I didn’t want it to ever end. Strong Enough was about two people who are just trying to accomplish what they want in life they never expected to fall for each other and end up with something they didn’t know they wanted.
Merit was everything, I love how strong she was. She was trying trying to find herself, not get herself in a situation that ended up being the best thing in her life. I just loved her so much, no matter how much she was hurting, she gave it her all. Dirk, oh Dirk. I wanted to slap him so many times, but I did love him so much. He is trying to live his life how he planned it, he never expected to add Merit to the mix. When these two collide, fireworks happen. The chemistry they have is off the charts. Their relationship isn’t easy, but it’s truly an epic one.
I cried, I legit cried. This book had all the feelings, I didn’t want it to ever stop. This book deserves more than 5 stars!!!!
So sad that this is the end of the Montana series! As I’ve read these books, I’ve fallen completely in love with not only the characters, but the idea of Montana as well and I am eager to travel there to get the full experience once we are able to do so. After the brothers got their HEA, we finally get to know Dirk better and see him get his HEA. While we know that Dirk was in love with his best friend’s wife before she died, in this book we really start to understand the feelings surrounding that as well as that those feelings were really runner up to the ones he had for Merit. When Merit returns home after years away in order to save not only her family, but the family farm, she was hoping to avoid Dirk at all costs especially with him traveling. But when he finds out she’s returned; he takes it as a sign and goes after clearing up the misunderstanding that has kept them apart all those years. I loved that these two were able to get the second chance they both deserved and were able to support each other through the highs and lows, surprises and devastation that happen throughout the storyline. Without giving anything away, be prepared to have the tissues on deck for this book! Although I’m sad this series is ending, I can’t wait to see what Kelly comes out with next, as her books keep getting better and better and I can’t get enough!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
My favorite of the Series!!!
What a way to kick off my reading for 2021!!!! Dirk and Merit are my most favorite story of this series. I always hoped Dirk would get his own story and thank goodness our lovely Ms. Elliott stayed true to her fans and give us this book.
Dirk has always been portrayed as a player – he’s oh so smooth with the ladies and can ride a bull like it’s no one’s business, but put that boy near Merit and it is comical how he can’t string together a sentence lol….. I have always always loved Dirk, he might have been a player, but he was loyal to a fault when it came to his friends and their families which just solidified my love for him. I so desperately wanted him to get his happily ever after and Merit was the perfect girl for him.
This book gave me all the feels and I loved every minute of it. It was the perfect ending to this series!
OMG!! I am totally torn right now. I am happy that this book just took me in and kept me sitting until I finished in the very early morning. I am devastated that this is the last book in the Meet Me in Montana series. I am so in love with these characters and I love how Kelly brings all of them together in every book each one stacking on the previous. Such great chemistry and angst, just the perfect amount.
Kelly Elliot is quickly becoming my go to author for small town romance. This was my first dive into the Meet Me in Montana series and I walked away with the desire to know everyone else’s story.
Merit and Dirk were friends in high school, and it was her request for a “favor” that in turn resulted in Dirk’s big slip up. Let’s be real that slip up is one that no woman would have overlooked. After that life changing event Merit left town only to return years later in help her family and Dirk went off to chase his bull riding career.
Dirk has always been plagued with the nightmare of his mistake. Now that Merit is back home, he has decided to make it up to her by being her knight in shining armor. Only just when he thinks he is saving her; his world begins to crumble and Merit steps in to help him. Dirk’s history of slipups continues but only this time he is not alone, Merit is right alongside making her own slip ups and choices which eventually leads to them finally coming to terms with their past, feelings, and future.
Let me just say this story has the drama….so so much emotion and heartbreak and an abundance of friendship.
I love this series so much! I am sad that this is the last book, but WOW – what a way to finish a series! Kelly Elliott is one of my all-time favorite authors! She is the queen of small-town romances and she completely killed it with Strong Enough! I have been waiting patiently for Dirk’s book and it did not disappoint! Dirk and Merit’s story was everything I wanted it to be! I am so in love! FIVE HUGE STARS!!
Wow! Kelly Elliott knocked it out of the park with this one for me. Strong Enough is such a great read! It is the fourth and final book in the Meet Me in Montana series by Elliott. I could not put it down. I was gone on the premise of Dirk loving his neighbor/best friend Merit since they were kids. It was such an interesting journey for Dirk to deal with his feeling for Merit. They had major chemistry and I found myself falling in love with these characters. I felt like I was apart of their world. I laughed, I cried, and enjoyed every bit of this wonderful world Elliott created. Definitely a reread!
Strong Enough was the perfect book to end this series. Even though at times, I wanted to reach through my kindle and punch Dirk, I still loved it. Strong Enough had me feeling all kinds of emotions and that is what I love about a book. I love and connected with Merit so much and her and Dirk’s story was nothing short of amazing. This was a great read!
