From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kylie Scott comes a new story in her Stage Dive series… When the girl of your dreams is kind of a nightmare. As head of security to Stage Dive, one of the biggest rock bands in the world, Sam Knowles has plenty of experience dealing with trouble. But spoilt brat Martha Nicholson just might be the worst thing he’s ever encountered. The beautiful … encountered. The beautiful troublemaker claims to have reformed, but Sam knows better than to think with what’s in his pants. Unfortunately, it’s not so easy to make his heart fall into line.
Martha’s had her sights on the seriously built bodyguard for years. Quiet and conservative, he’s not even remotely her type. So why the hell can’t she get him out of her mind? There’s more to her than the Louboutin wearing party-girl of previous years, however. Maybe it’s time to let him in on that fact and deal with this thing between them.
Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

Sexy and a lot of feels all packed into a small package with Strong! Kylie Scott once again manages to grab me from page one and keep me hooked! Back with my favorite band, Martha and Sam’s story has glimpses of characters I absolutely love to go along with being completely swept off my feet by Sam. These two have one major case of opposites attract. Sam is the calm to Martha’s storm, his steady patient ways showing time and time again how much he really loves her. Full of major swoon and some delicious heat Strong will have you falling head over heels in love with these two.
I am a diehard fan of Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series and could not wait for this story! Martha and Sam were absolutely delicious. They were fun, sexy and absolutely on fire. I loved their banter and their connection and this quick and hot novella!
If anyone was to ask me which Rockstar series is my favorite, without a doubt I would say this author’s Stage Dive series. OMG the banter and comraderie between the band and the wives was absolutely amazing. I love how Martha comes home to regroup and find herself after a traumatic incident away and in the process she finds what she truly has been missing: a genuine connection with friends and family and a man that had been waiting for her for a decade!
I thought this story was a fun, quick love story with a lot of heart. It was fantastic to be back in that world and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula
She refuses to be tamed. He loves a challenge. The heat is on and is quickly reaching a fever pitch. Each thinks they have the other figured out, but looks can be deceiving. Scott has created a world of tempting sin that kicks the heart into overdrive with the sensual, but melts your emotions with it’s sensitivity. Sam and Martha are proof that sometimes imperfect could end up being the perfect fit. Strong is a tale of living your own truth and wearing the scars to prove it. It’s sexy, it’s gritty, it’s fabulous.
The best part of this book was how much it made me want to go back and revisit all the boys of Stage Dive; it’s been YEARS since I’ve read their stories and I realized I missed them. Strong was a short, sweet little read, perfect for finding the world of Stage Dive or re-whetting your appetite for an old favorite.
Honestly, I scarcely remembered what had happened in this series when I started reading Strong, I’ve read hundreds of books since I finished the series, and while reading there were moments that tickled my memory and brought the familiar threads of a world I’d experienced before to light.
Strong hit all those spots that make me love a romance novel. The protective man who will do whatever it takes to love and protect his lover, the strong, independent woman who is afraid to let her soft side show lest she be hurt, and a little tension that isn’t a threat to the relationship but still adds a layer of interest to the overall mood of the book.
My only wish for this book, as is usual for me when I read novellas, is that it be full-length. I loved the little bit of Sam and Martha’s relationship that we got, but I would have loved to have seen more of it. Novellas, by definition, are short and as a consequence often feel rushed, and that was definitely the case with Strong. It was still a complete story, but I would have loved more of it, which maybe isn’t a criticism at all because what author doesn’t want to keep their readers wanting more?
Strong is the fifth (listed as 4.5) in Kylie Scott’s Stage Dive series. The books in this series are all interconnected standalones and can be read independently, but I would highly suggest reading them in order for the best experience. Strong is written in first-person perspective, narrated by Martha.
OMG!! JUST WOW!!
Strong is just the topping on the Stage Dive cake for me!!
Just when you think Kylie Scott is done with the series she whips out this incredible rocker gem! OMFG! Just Pure hot, fun and incredibly delicious!
Another A++++ hit that is worth its price in gold!
So, I had some reservations when I heard who the female was.
Yes, since I’m a die-hard Stage Die fan and we all know what she did in that series!
Seriously I didn’t think I would want to read about Martha!
But hell I actually liked her and then oh, Sam!!!
OH BOY OH BOY SAM!!!! That is all I’m saying!! Drool!!!
Oh man, reading Strong felt like I was attending a family reunion! Well, considering the Stage Dive crew are like brothers and their wives fit right along with them, I’m not surprised that I felt this way.
But I was surprised about the fun dynamic between Sam and Martha. It seems that they’ve been having a bit of an unrequited romance for the past ten years. Each totally hot for the other, but neither doing a damn thing about it!
It was so fun watching them get over themselves—and their hangups—to finally get together. I loved how Sam made Martha a better person just by being him, and I really liked to see Martha grow up and mature and finally realize that she’s better than her past behaviors.
Strong was a fun, quick and dirty read and such a nice catch up with some of my favorite characters!
For all the Stage Dive fans – the wait is FINALLY over. Here is in all her glory Marta and our beloved Sam.
This short story was a great addition to the series. It was so fun to see all the gang and to see what has happen in the past couple of years since we read the last book. I was loving this book mostly for the reason that I just knew that there was more to Martha then she leads us to believe in previous books. I knew Sam was a great guy and I was laughing out loud while reading so much my husband made me go to the other room so I wouldn’t disturb him. Who knew Sam had a funny bone?!?!
Now we come to the (only) problem of this story – it was too damn short! I WANT MORE – more of how their relationship is progressing, how the gang is doing with adding new members to the “team”, but most of all I WANT MORE OF MAL <3

4.25 stars–STRONG is a contemporary, adult, erotic, romance in Kylie Scott’s rock band series STAGE DIVE, and the latest instalment in the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights. This is security expert Sam Knowles, and PA Martha Nicholson’s story line. Martha is Ben Nicholson’s sister (Deep #4), and Dave Ferris (Lick #1) former love interest. You do not have to have read the previous instalments but I recommend reading book one LICK for backstory and history between Martha and the band.
Told from first person point of view (Martha) STRONG follows the building relationship between security expert Sam Knowles, and Martha Nicholson. Years earlier, following the fall-out of her personal and professional relationship with Stage Dive’s lead singer and guitarist David Ferris, Martha Nicholson headed to New York in an effort to find herself and forget about the man with whom she was once in love. With a reputation as a b*tch with a little crazy on the side, Martha tried to establish herself with little success. Fast forward to present day wherein Martha is tasked with ‘babysitting’ her brother Ben’s (Stage Dive’s bassist) rambunctious two–year old son Gibson, a task that brings her face to face with the man that has starred in her fantasies and dreams for close to ten years. Enter Stage Dive’s head of security Sam Knowles, and the man with whom Martha will fall in love. What ensues is the friends to lovers relationship between Martha and Sam, a relationship in the making for close to a decade, and the potential fall-out as Martha struggles to accept everything Sam has to offer, including his heart.
Martha Nicholson was David Ferris’ high school sweetheart, and lost everything when David married Evelyn Thomas. Desperate to recapture what was, Martha attempted to come between David and Evelyn but found herself on the outside looking in. Sam Knowles watched from afar as Martha’s life imploded when she interfered in the lives of the band. For ten years Sam waited for Martha to realize there was someone else hoping to capture her heart.
The romance between Martha and Sam has been developing for close to ten years but Martha struggled with demons from the past, including a reputation that had once sought out to destroy the members of the band. Desperate to prove he was worthy of Martha’s love, the wives of the band, set into motion a plan for Sam to seduce our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate.
All of the previous story line couples and members of the band play secondary and supporting characters. Mal is his usual, hyper-manic self as he pushes our heroine’s buttons on more than one occasion- the back and forth banter is priceless; and Gibson Nicholson aka Gibby, as he runs amok repeating all of the ‘forbidden’ words in a two-year old’s vocabulary.
STRONG is a quick read; a revisit with our favorite rock band and their families, as well as the introduction of an up and coming star Adam, whom Martha is about to take under her wing. Here’s hoping for another spin-off focusing on Adam and his rise to the top. The character driven premise is spicy, engaging and spirited; the romance is moving and provocative; the characters are sexy, sassy and sweet. STRONG is a welcome addition and energetic instalment in Kylie Scott’s STAGE DIVE series.

It was fun being back in the world of Stage Dive!!! I missed these guys 🙂
Strong is a novella in the Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott. I thought it was a good addition to this series. I will be honest though and say it wasn’t my favorite of the books.
I had a hard time connecting with Martha (heroine). She just isn’t overly friendly and her attitude rubbed me the wrong way at times. I will say this though, Sam saved this story for me. I LOVED him. He is an older (40’s) Hero that was totally devoted to Martha. But not in a push over kind of way. He was just really patient and kind. He made my heart melt.
Even with not having that strong connection with Martha, I really did enjoy this read. It is a fairly quick story and not filled with a lot of drama. Truthfully it was just great being with the members of Stage Dive and the ladies they love.
Strong is a standalone novella that is told solely from Martha’s POV. I thought the flow of the story worked well, but I will say that the pace was a little slow for me. Maybe because there wasn’t much drama it slowed things down, but still worth the read.
Like I said this book is about Martha and Sam. Martha is Ben’s (Hero in Deep, book 4) sister and Sam is the band’s security guard. Martha has just come back from living in New York and is trying to figure out her life. Sam has been the band’s security guard for many years and has feelings for Martha for almost a decade. Will these two ever get on the same page?? Can they find their HEA too? Read this book to find out.
If you are a fan of the Stage Dive series and band members, then you will want to read this book. Also if you are a fan of Kylie Scott’s books, then you should read this book. You are pretty much guaranteed to enjoy the book if Kylie Scott wrote it!!!
