Book 17 in Psychic Visions SeriesCayce’s art is well-known and respected among her peers, and, as such, has spawned forgers, copycats … and enemies. But when her favorite model and best friend is murdered—the masterpiece painted on her skin cut off her body—Cayce knows she’s up against a collector of a very different sort.Detective Richard Henderson doesn’t know much about art, but he knows what … but he knows what he likes. Of all the art mixed up in this case, it is the artist, Cayce, who fascinates him the most. While he understands her work contains an element of something extraordinary, he just doesn’t know what that is exactly or how she embodies it in her creative works of art.
But, when other models show up dead, with more souvenirs taken from their bodies, both the artist and the detective realize much more is involved in this than just Cayce’s art … It’s all about Cayce’s soul.

Wow – what a thrilling read with unforgettable characters and an intriguing story that immediately pulled me into the middle of all that was happening and I held onto the edge of my seat, unable to put the book down until I read the last word. I really liked the attraction and magnetic chemistry between unique artist Cayce Matlock and Detective Richard Henderson as they work together to solve the gruesome murder of Cayce’s model and good friend, Elena. Ms. Mayer is one of my favorite authors and I love her chilling and thought-provoking Psychic Visions Novels. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Her art work is very good and valuable. She finds people fake them and would even steal them. When her friend is killed and the art she had done on the body was taken, danger is closer than she thought. Who did it? Can she find out? Is she safe? See if she will be

I really love the concept of this entry in the Psychic Visions world. Body painting! It was such a great mystery and I really liked all the characters. The way the art was described really made it part of the story. As always loved seeing the previous characters. Highly recommend this series it is new and unique with each entry!

Stroke of Death by Dale Mayer
Psychic Visions Series Book Seventeen
Cayce Matlock uses her unique energy in her paintings. And being those murals included live body-painted models, it helped to use models that had positive energy, such as her best friend. When her friend is murdered, Cayce is hurt soul-deep. She’s also considered a suspect.
Detective Richard Henderson had an ugly case on his hands. Gruesome. And when more bodies were found…it made it more urgent to find this sicko before he would strike again. And hopefully, it wasn’t the beautiful artist doing it.
Stefan comes in to help where he can. Richard has some gifts that he didn’t understand. Cayce knew she had special gifts and what she could do with them, but kept it to herself. Great suspense in wondering who was guilty as several seemed like prime suspects.

Cayce has a unique approach to art. Her models are living the masterpieces. They bring them to life, then she is not. Why would someone kill a model. She but displays the masterpiece. Det Henderson intends to find out. He is intrigued by the art and the artist. She was so incredibly talented and beautiful in her own right. Generous by nature giving so much of herself to her art. This book was, is incredible. The story catches and does not let you go. You turn page after page, so engrossed that before you know it the book is finished. You laugh, you cry and you mourn. This book is extraordinary. All of Dale Mayer books are, but especially so her Physic Vision Series.

The book starts out by grabbing your attention and holds on to you all the way through to the end. The characters in the book are so good and interact so well that I wanted more more more! The story line was so gripping and kept you guessing from start to finish. The result is an awesome book that you cannot put down and don’t want to end. I loved how characters from other books were brought into the story so easily and helped those in this book. I look forward to the the next book as these are so interesting and keep you guessing! If you like action and suspense you will love this book!

Cayce is a body artist whose art is special because she connects to her models in an astral level. When she finds out that her best friend Elena has been murdered she feels ill, but when she found out that she was skinned so that someone could take the art she painted, she was devastated. When detective Richard Henderson realizes that there is a serial killer, he takes it as his personal duty to protect Cayce. The Psychic Vision series are all stand alone novels. There are two people that have cameos in all of the books, Dr. Maddy who works with healing energy and Stefan a psychic that has the ability to connect psychically with people. In this book they just provide guidance to Richard so that he can work with the energy around Cayce. I think the ending to this book is great. Just when I thought I knew who the killer is, there is a big twist and I am surprised at the ending. That makes this one of my favorite books in the series.

Cayce is a well renowned artist who does body art. When one of her models and her best friend is found murdered and skinned, Cayce is pulled into a case that seemingly revolves around her. Detective Richard Henderson is on the case which continues growing as more models are found. As Cayce and Richard work together to solve the case before it progresses any further, they must also determine what they are to each other.
I absolutely love this series and this book is no exception. Full of action and intrigue, it’ll keep you guessing. I was caught up from beginning to end and am looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
This is one book that I would highly recommend!!!
I have been reading Dale’s books since the first physic visions “Tuesdays Child” came out. Dale Mayer has written a series that keeps me coming back. The newest Stroke of Death is a fascinating read. It kept me reading to the end, I love a good mystery and this is definitely one book that keeps you guessing.
I have said it before and will say it again Dale Thank You for a wonderful book.

A very complicated psychic mystery. Cayce, the artist, and Richard, the detective are both able to see people’s auras. This special ability enhances both their lives and jobs. Still lives are being brutally lost and possible suspects are mounting. It’s a ping pong theory of who done it. Edge of your seat read.
Cayce’s art sounds amazing and I loved trying to visualize it, throw in a bit of sass from her, murders and a hawt detective that keeps annoying her and you get one heck of a read! I honestly didn’t know who to trust and kept switching who I thought was behind the murders and also got worried on who might be next which kept you on your toes and needing to know what would happen next. You could feel both Cayce’s and Detective Henderson frustration in wanting to now who was behind it all but having so few clues and then there is the dynamic between them that shifts to and what fun it is to watch it change … I will always laugh and think of paint now when I see spaghetti and meatballs!

Richard and Cayce cross paths when he investigates the murder of Cayce’s best friend. Cayce is an artist who brings her art to real life, using models blending them into a backdrop of her murals of art. She paints her models using their light to blend in with her work. Richard also sees auras around him and the two have a connection and it will be up to Richard to banish the black tendrils holding her down.
A good read with a bit of steam, suspense and surprises. At first I didn’t get the connection between them. Richard was always snapping at Cayce and vice versa and then all of sudden, they were together as if they didn’t have a rocky start. I did enjoy the plot and how descriptive the scenes were that were brought to life with the art.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I miss this series and I’ve been waiting for a long time for this book and it’s so worth it.
I can’t put it down from the first chapter.
The suspense, the gruesome murders, the paranormal, the beautiful arts and the wonderful complex characters, yup I love everything, and my favorite is the twist, love how the author always throw me for a loop, the multiple points of view from many characters keeps me on the edge of my seat, keeps me guessing who’s the real murderer, keeps me expecting something bad will happen in the next page. So yesss absolutely love it and totally recommended for paranormal suspense romance lovers.
Great story, the author kept me guessing with her twists and turns. I curled up in bed last night determined to finish this story, perhaps that’s why I didn’t sleep very well. Cayce and Richard were great characters, both interesting. I enjoy their spark that kept growing. This is one page turner of a story, I highly recommend it.
I never was a lover of PNR or psychic reads but then I was introduced to this author and had me scrambling to read her books. Each one is so different from the rest even though they all have the same paranormal theme running through. This one is a bit like something that has happened in the world. An artist know for her work but hated it a few and with enemies. Until a friend is murdered and her skin turned into a piece of art. A detective looking to crack the case although he isn’t sure what he is up against. Do they help each other to find the bad guy? A great read with a fascinating subject. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next.
Another great book in this series. There are so many questions along the way in this story – who is killing models and why? Who will be the next one to be killed? Is Cayce (the artist) the end target or is the killer just after the models she uses? And as the story unfolds, there are many possible suspects that will keep you guessing. There were even a couple people I suspected that the police didn’t seem focused on. At the same time that the killings are being investigated, there is the developing relationship between Cayce and Detective Henderson. We also get a few appearances by Stefan which just adds to the story.
Cayce is an artist with a unique gift, she does mural size masterpieces and incorporates models into the scene. The models disappear into it until the moment they are to move away. Cayce’s gift is more than this though, she calls upon positive energy when she paints using it to create with the perfect colors and blending.
As this book opens the client has insisted on a new model, Naomi exudes negativity and Cayce is having trouble getting around that but she manages, and reaches a point for a break for both herself and the model.
It’s then a visitor enters the area, something that Cayce hates since it interferes with the energy and this stranger has a darkness about him. The news he brings devastates Cayce, Elena her bestfriend and favorite model has been murdered and besides her life the killer took something else. That something is not only part of Elena but of Cayce as well.
Detective Richard Henderson is assigned to the case and with so few clues he turns to the artist as he talks to other friends of Elena.
One of the things I love about these books is we get a look at the bad guy, not the name but insight into the twisted reasoning.
As more bodies turn up so does Sebastian, I love the way he just pops into the fray. This case has intertwined with one Sebastian is working on so the stakes are even higher. Richard has to embrace his talents as does Cayce as this nail-biting story continues.
Plenty of suspense, intrigue and a simmer to sizzle romance.
I had started this series in the middle and I am now going back to the beginning. I really need to know more about the characters that show up to help in every book.
Cayce’s painting takes art to a whole new level. She paints masterpieces on skin to go with a painted back drop in Book #17 of the Psychic Visions Series. Reading this book has shown me that I really like a bit of paranormal in stories. I would not have bet money on that but it’s true. Between the artist Cayce and her friend Detective Richard Henderson, I was kept captivated from beginning to end. She is an expert, devoted and loyal. He is the honest, trustworthy, strong guy that every girl wants to meet. Together they managed to present a great story that was fun to read. The mystery was perfect, a bit disturbing at times but handled very well.
The epilogue refers to skiing, a ghost and a detective too and I am intrigued by the description!
A truly beautiful story. Stroke of Death is an amazing addition to a wonderful series. Cayce is very talented artist. When death surrounds her masterpieces Detective Richard Henderson is on the case. Can he solve the puzzle before the killer gets Cayce or will he be to late.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This book had me hooked from the beginning until the very end. The storyline is fast-paced, well-written and had so much drama, action and intrigue it was impossible to put down. Both Cayce and Richard are wonderful well developed characters, the chemistry between them quietly sizzled. Definitely recommend this book.
