ChristianThere were only three things I cared about: women, money and booze. That is, until saw Selena Jacobson, a goddess in the flesh if I’ve ever seen one. I wanted her from the very first second that I laid my eyes on her. Something carnal inside me flipped a switch, and I knew she would be mine. When life threw us both a big curveball, I made her mine, in every way possible. Every dark … possible.
Every dark desire inside me came to life, and I’ll be damned if anyone takes her away from me.
Selena
Christian Steele was nothing but an arrogant prick; one that I tried to stay away from.
Tried and failed.
Dammit to hell, I liked a lot of things about Christian that I would never admit.
When we lost my parents, one to death and another to abandonment, I became the bread-winner, and, for a time, I just want to feel irresponsible. Christian makes me feel in ways I never thought possible and not just between the sheets.

Christian had me laughing in Tough as Steele andI fell in love with him in Stripping a Steele. He is arrogant but protects those who he considers his with everything he has. Selena is a firecracker who will tell you like it is and is stronger than she knows. Christian and Selena are perfect for each other. This story will break your heart than heal you and break it again. Leaving you wanting more of the Steele family.
I’m in love with Elizabeth Knox’s writing; she gets you captivated by her stories plays on your emotions. You can’t stop reading until you finished and find yourself looking for the next one.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Selena has had to learn how to be the bread winner early on in her life. Her mother left them and her father has died leaving her the primary care giver to three siblings. When Christian first caught sight of her he was captivated and wanted her but she eluded him and his advances. He catches up with her again in a place he least expected to find her leaving her to an unexpected tragedy. Livid, Christian seeks justice for the woman that has grown to become the love of his life but will she reciprocate his feelings in the end given what she has had to endure?

I enjoyed this much more than book one, but it’s still a miss for me. I wanted to like this but There is still some time jumping and skipping around in the story. Nothing is explained if he knows anything about her caring for her siblings, it felt completely glossed over with him. I’m also honestly confused as to why he’s complaining about her returning to her job. While it’s not such a great job, just how exactly does he think she’s supporting a household and children? Also she never really speaks of the incident at the club, doesn’t tell her friend about it either?
So far Christian is my favorite Steele brother. And Selena is his match. She’s feisty, stubborn, hardworking, independent and protective. She was not impressed by Christian’s money. As a matter of fact she wanted nothing to do with him. Christian of course was persistent and wasn’t giving up. He would do anything for his Cinderella. Eventually he wore her down and you see a side to him that no one rarely sees. I would love more on these two and I can’t wait for the 3rd book to see what happens.
This was a fantastic story!
I loved Christian and Selena’s story! Selena is a strong, independent, hardworking woman taking care of her siblings. Christian is very protective of her. This book had me from the start! I couldn’t put it down! The sparks fly from their first meeting. Their chemistry was explosive! It was a steamy, fast paced, full of action love story! I can’t get enough of the Steele Brothers! I can’t wait to read book 3 Protecting A Steele!
The characters were both very strong which leads to plenty of sparks and sharp banter. Christian and Selena’s story was a bit of a roller coaster ride with its entertaining combination of drama, intense emotions, moments of sweetness, moments of heartbreak, passion and romance. I thought that there was a lot to like about this book. However, the ending of this book seemed exceptionally abrupt and even more importantly, something occurs in this book that I feel was handled very poorly.
Second in this series and just as good as the first one. I am loving the Steele Brothers. Christian is one alpha male when he sets his sights on something he doesn’t give up for anything. He has set his sights on Selena. But Selena is one feisty stubborn fighter who doesn’t give in so easily. These two are perfect for each other but will they realize that before it is too late. This one tore at my emotions. Something happens to Selena right off the bat which makes for a very interesting storyline once Christian finds out what has happened. But it also brings them closer together. I absolutely loved watching these two get together. The push and pull between these two was funny at times. Selena is one feisty girl and wont just take what Christian is giving. Christian doesn’t know how to take that. I absolutely loved this one and cant wait to read the next one. Another great book from Elizabeth.
Christain steals your heart in Stripping a Steele. If you’ve read the first book then you know that Christain comes off as the party brother within the Steele family. But he is so much more than that. You get to see all sides of him in this one and it is hard not to fall in love with him. You can feel that instant pull between Christain and Selena. I love how feisty Selena is and the fact she isn’t afraid to put Christain in his place. Selena just has this beautiful heart and it is hard to see why Christain falls hard and fast for her and her siblings. I’m falling in love with the Steele Bros hard and I can’t wait for more.
This was a good, short read. I enjoyed it. I’m definitely interested in Madigan’s story!
I LOVE Elizabeth’s writing and Stripping a Steele definitely was a good one! I loved Christian in Tough as Steele, so I was super excited to hear that he was next to get a book. Everything about this book made me love Christian THAT much more!
Selena is so special. From the moment we meet her I was enamored by her. She’s so tough and strong and does what needs to be done to take care of her family. As soon as I realized that she was Christian’s target I smiled like a cheshire cat. I knew she was the perfect person for him and she’d give him a run for his money. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that it ended as quickly as it did. I guess not every book can be 500+ pages and has to have an ending, but I could have read about these two for days! I loved their whitty banter and how neither of them would stand down. Selena was really so perfect for him, even if she didn’t want to give up right away.
I also love how much we still got to see the other brothers and Brooklyn. Seeing everything that the family went through in this books makes me love them that much more. I can’t wait to see what comes next and how these brothers grow
This was the first book by Elizabeth Knox I’ve read and now I’m hooked. After Selena is left to take care of her brother and sisters she does everything she can to keep them safe and under one roof. While at work one night she runs into Christian Steele again. They had meet briefly once before and neither had forgotten the other. They form a bond over a traumatic event and he is determined to prove to Selena that you can’t judge a person by what you think you may know. “I’m trying to do a few things to that heart of yours, Cinderella, but giving you a heart attack isn’t high on my list. at least give us forty years before I start coming up with ways to kill you.” Yup that’s the kind of relationship they have. This is a must read!!
