A man who has it all reunites with a woman who takes it all off in a Las Vegas romance from the bestselling author of Forever My Girl, now a major motion picture! They don’t call it the Strip for nothing. . . . Living in Sin City, Finn McCormick is no stranger to one-night stands, but the last person he expects to find losing big on the casino floor is a former high school fling. Even though Macey … is a former high school fling. Even though Macey Webster’s clearly down on her luck, she’s still a knockout, and she’s dressed like a stripper—because she is one. Drunk off an unfamiliar cocktail of lust, pity, and compassion, Finn offers to pay Macey’s debts if she cuddles up to him around town . . . and does whatever he wants between the sheets.
Macey came to Vegas for one reason only: money. She’s got a young daughter to support, and the tips really are bigger in Vegas. But when she blows her earnings on blackjack, her guardian angel is the rich boy who once stole her heart and never called her back. Although Macey would love to turn the tables on Finn, she can’t afford to refuse his proposition—and soon she’s enjoying herself much more than she cares to admit. Macey’s used to baring her flesh, but baring her soul will take far more courage.

Very hot. Quite romantic. Well written. All in all a super enjoyable read.
What happens in Vegas, thankfully does not stay in Vegas. So much respect for Macey that will do almost anything to give her daughter, Morgan, a better life. She would even go to Vegas to dance (exotic) for a week to make better money.
Macey lets the thrill of Vegas get to her. She is right back where she started, or is she? Finn watched the devastation, the crush. He has a solution if she will accept. A lot can happen in a week… even if you don’t want it to happen. So much hot sex that you might want to have a fan on hand. So much emotion that you might want to have tissues on hand. So much ugly from a different female that you might want to have a bopper hammer near by.
Then Finn does the unthinkable. I could have screamed. Who am I kidding? I yelled. I cussed. I threatened. And then I smiled as he suffered. Grab the book and enjoy the rollercoaster of Stripped Bare. Let your mouth drop with the shock and awe. Flip the pages in search of the HEA and that first kis
Finn McCormick doesn’t do relationships, the mere mention of them and he’s sprinting for the door, one night between the sheets is the name of the game with him. After witnessing his own parents marriage completely unravel, and end in heartache, he decided early on that there was no way he was ever going to travel down that path. And for the most part it’s been easy for him to avoid it, but when the alluring Macey Webster wanders into his casino, clearly in need of his help, he can’t help but get involved… and before long his plan to keep things one night only becomes really hard to stick to!
To say that Macey Webster has been dealt a crappy hand in life is an complete understatement, but she is doing all she can to change it, and has a plan in place to get her life on a better track. Her little plan involves one week in Sin City, doing a little dancing, and reaping the benefits… but when temptation gets the better of her she finds herself broke, alone, and back at square one. Now she must find a way to re-earn the money she lost to help create a better life for her and her young daughter… lucky for her a friend from her past is about to offer her the deal of a lifetime, now she just has to decide if it’s worth the gamble!
As soon as my eyes landed on the synopsis for this story I knew it was going to be a exceptional read, and I am happy to report that it DEFINITELY lived up to my initial expectations, it was AMAZING!! Barely a chapter into the story I was hooked and felt myself being pulled deeper into Finn and Macey’s alluring world and couldn’t wait to see how it would all end! The instant these two wandered into each other’s lives you could literally feel the sparks bounce between them, and those little sparks produced some very blush worthy scenes that had me in dire need of a fan…several times!! Enjoyed every minute of this one, it touched my heart, made me swoon and left me with a smile! Highly recommend you give it a try!
Very much a”Pretty Woman” story, very little is different but I liked it anyway. The characters are a little more modern and a quick read.
I got bored and the setup for the relationship between the woman and the billionaire was awkward
I enjoyed it very much
Just as a heads up … this is going to be a rough review. I’m going to try to keep everything constructive … try being the operative word because I’m a little irritated. Maybe more than a little and it feels almost irrational. Which doesn’t translate into anything good.
Without giving anything away that isn’t in other reviews … yes, this is a modern-day retelling of Pretty Woman. And by “retelling” I mean that it is pretty freaking close to the movie. Too close. There are some iconic scenes in that movie that were not a retelling. It was the same darn thing. In my readers-mind, I want a retelling to kind of pay homage to the original but not try to BE it with a few twists added.
There were a couple of times when our lead character, Heidi, told Finn (our dashing young wannabe Richard Gere) to not insinuate that she was a prostitute and of course, after him telling her that he wouldn’t, you guessed it … he did. Just like the movie. Then there was the creepy old dude that is a work associate of Finns and yep! You guessed it again … skeezy old dude hit on her.
I think that all of that would have been a little bit more okay if the book hadn’t been predictable and the characters bland. Does our hero, Finn, (the strapping young gentleman that should have made me swoon) stand out in my mind? No. All I could think about is how Richard Gere could beat his ass. I didn’t really like Finn as a person and that’s probably because I felt like I didn’t know him at all.
Same goes for Heidi. This woman came across as a doormat. I don’t want to read about that! Not in a romance novel! I want to read about a woman who started out as a doormat and then she clawed her way to the top of that horribly deep hole, conquered her self esteem and flipped the bird to anyone that had ever put her down and made her feel like crap. That’s not what I got here.
And there’s this twist at the ending … it just irritated me. Not only because I guessed it at the very beginning but because it was simultaneously made a huge deal out of and swept under the rug. Basically, not the book for me. I’m not too sure how I feel about this author. Does she write other retelling-esque novels? Are they all going to irritate me like this one did? Think I might keep a distance for the time being.
* I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Maybe not when it involves something that happened 10 years ago. Macey is a single mom who has been raising her daughter by herself and struggling and failing for so long she is desperate and so goes to Vegas for a week to earn some fast money stripping. On her last day the lure of the blackjack table gets to her and she loses her money (at which point I started calling her names) and Finn steps in and tries to save the day. Finn is the owner of the casino and also from her hometown and a blast from the past. Macey runs from him but he tracks her down and propositions her with enough money for a week that will change her life. What he doesn’t know is she is leaving someone behind. A week, a lot of chemistry, a lot of sex, a lot of fun, a lot of dirty talking, and a lot of angst and lust. Macey and Finn didn’t know what hit them when they came together and tried to keep it just a transaction. No kissing allowed…
I recommend this one and look forward to more!
