FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF GAY ROMANCE, MORTICIA KNIGHT
Book seven in the Sin City Uniforms series – a newly expanded and edited version!
Stripping used to be fun… Dakota and will stop at nothing to possess him. Then, Dakota’s thirteen-year-old brother runs away from home to escape their abusive father, and he becomes determined to rescue him from the danger of the streets.
Patrol officer Reed hasn’t been attracted to a man in a very long time, but when he’s called to an assault in progress at the LGBTQ teen shelter, a young stranger changes everything. Reed fights the instant spark of attraction, certain that nothing will happen between them. Yet, when he stumbles across that same man during another call, he wonders if fate has already set their future in motion.
Destiny is one thing, but the stark reality of daily life is another. Between Dakota’s scary ex-boss who can’t take no for an answer, fighting for guardianship of his brother and wondering how they’ll survive—Dakota isn’t sure he and Reed stand a chance. Not only that, but Reed has never had sex with a man. If Reed can’t be there for him and his brother as a family, then Dakota fears he has no choice but to say goodbye.

This series is full of great stories and fascinating characters. This one totally ties up with that and holds up the high quality! Loved the dynamics between the MCs!
Dakota’s boss made my skin crawl! Creeper! Skeevy! Evil! Dakota’s mom made me furious, saying she couldn’t leave her husband and not defending Donny! WTH?! I loved how Reed and Dakota were open with each other and both willing to condider the other’s needs. What a beautiful relationship I saw growing and growing with the story. Reed was so innocent with men that it was a joy seeing him come into his new truth! Impactful!
Reed had the need to protect in his blood, Dakota was living the worst periods of his life with no one to help him…ad to the mix a dash of insta-attraction and a providential meeting or two, and these guys had for themselves a perfect match made in heaven.
The buildup of their relationship happened during days full of fear and worry, balanced with time to connection emotionally and discover each other sexually. It might of felt a bit rushed, but I liked Reed and Dakota as a couple, the way they just clicked together…they definitely deserved their happily ever after.
Don’t you just LOOOOVE this cover? (Swoons) I fell in love with Dakota right away. I liked Reed too but for some reason, I liked Dakota better. This is book seven but don’t let that stop you from reading this one now. I followed along just fine and haven’t read in order.
The characters are intriguing, there are two plots, one Dakota trying to escape his ex-boss Yuri, the other Dakota trying to find and get custody of his younger brother that has runaway. Then we have the budding romance between Dakota and Reed who meet when Dakota approaches the youth shelter to look for Donny and meets Reed there.
The romance is sweet and spicy with some witt tossed in.
I will say since Reed is a father with weekends with his daughter I would have liked to have seen more of her and the end got just a tad bit rushed into an epilogue I would have read several more chapters.
If you like Police detectives, strippers, fast-developing romances, virgins, bisexual, toppy twinks and a sweet but hot romance this is for you.
Dakota is a dancer who wants to become an aerial dancer instead of a stripper. Reed is a bisexual Patrol Officer who shares custody of his daughter with his wife. When these two meet, the attraction is instantaneous. Strip Search is the seventh book in the Sin City Uniforms series but you don’t necessarily have to have read any of the others.
There is a lot that goes on in this book. You have Dakota’s ex-boss, new jobs, missing brothers, family life/tension, and not forgetting a custody battle. It is a fast-paced story with insta-lust/love between our two main characters. There is little to no angst between the two of them. All the angst is caused by circumstances going on around them, rather than them themselves.
I have enjoyed every book I’ve ever read by Morticia Knight but this one is not one I would read again. Part of the problem for me is that it is the next in the series after a brilliant read. Searching for Shelter was the best book in the series and then Strip Search followed it and it just didn’t hit the same buttons. Although I am a fan of epilogues this one felt like it was a way to give the reader answers without having to go into too much detail. Just accept and it’s done.
This is still a great series and I loved reading about how other characters were getting on in their lives. I enjoyed Reed and Dakota’s story but just not as much. I still have no hesitation in recommending it though!
