“You want to fake date me?” Music is my life, my band is my heart and soul, and it’s all falling apart before my eyes. A plan hatched from desperation as we both watch our careers burn down around us. Dating my best friend’s twin brother, Paris, who just so happens to be a gay icon at the moment seems like the perfect plan. And if we have a little fun along the way, where’s the harm in that? The … where’s the harm in that? The band is spiraling, his football career is going up in flames, and the more the world falls down around us, the easier it is to get lost in each other.
But are stolen moments during our own busy schedules and hurried kisses hidden behind social media posts the basis for a real relationship, or is this just another thing that’s going to turn to dust in our hands?
**Strike a Chord is the fourth and final book in the Replay series. This series can be read in any order.

Strike a Chord is the fourth and final book in the Replay series. This series is best read in order, but this book could be read as standalone.
Benji, out of all the Downward Spiral members, is the most stable. He’s living his dream and enjoying every moment – the only thing that’s stopping him from fully relishing everything is the trouble and issues all his other bandmembers are dealing with. However, as much as Benji has been enjoying his rock star life, it turns out he’s been missing having love in his life. When he and Paris reconnect and start a pseudo fake relationship, Benji finds happiness and love that fills that hole he didn’t even know he had. This was a fun book that had a lot of romance and steamy moments between two high school friends. I also really enjoyed the Heathens Ink cameo that happened. That was fun and great to see some of my favorite characters hanging out with some new favorite characters.
Well worth the wait, brilliant ending to the series, with Benji and Paris. It also includes a wrap up of all the characters stories and opens up the door to some awesome possible spin off series.
Strike a Chord is book four in the Replay Series. It can be read as a standalone. Benji’s band is on the verge breaking up and he’s a little lost at what to do. The band takes a break and Benji take that time to reconnect with old friends. London is his best friend. London has a brother Paris. Paris is the guy Benji has always wanted. Paris’ career is also on the verge of ending too. There was a misunderstanding between them in the past the had put them in the friends zone. At London’s pushing these decide to fake date. They are so much more than fake dating. I was so rooting for these to get their lives on track and also to have a happy ever after.
It feels like I’ve waited forever for Benji’s story, and it didn’t disappoint. It was beautiful to see him truly open up. He’s always been the strong one who has his act together, but inside he’s torn and lost. Seeing him with his best friend London, and how they interact, along with his interactions with Paris was just breathtaking. Reading about how Paris is so unsure of the future, and watching him trying to figure out what he truly wants was gripping. This book truly wrapped up the Replay series in a perfect bow. I loved it all.
What a great way to end a series, with Benji! This is the fourth and last book in this series. You get fake boyfriends, best friend’s brother, rockstars, and a sweet low angst HFA ending. Benji and Paris are great together. Paris is London’s twin brother, who is Benji’s best friend. I love the history these two characters have together. I love the sneak peeks back into their past too. The author does do that in the first quarter of the book or so, going back and forth to when Benji and Paris were in high school. So good! As the author said, you can read these books in any order, but I would still suggest starting at the beginning with “Face the Music.” These stories all occur simultaneously so you can start just about anywhere. This was an amazing series that I totally loved and if you’re looking for a great rockstars series to read, I highly recommend this series.
Benji the only untroubled member of Downward Spiral finally gets his HEA. Benji and Paris are so sweet and sexy together. I love how we also get glimpses into their teenage past along with Paris’ twin and Benji’s BF London. You finally understand why it took them so long to realize they were meant to be together.
I hate to see this series end, but the good thing about KM Neuhold’s books is they are the gift that keeps on giving. You can read them over and over and they never lose their magic. I highly recommend this and any book by this author.
Yep, the final book in the Replay series SHOULD NOT be missed! As with the other stories in the series, this one is just as sexy and romantic and sweet with lots of sprinkles of heart. I love the way this story was written. It was so easy to get lost in the story and characters.
Paris and Benji have amazing chemistry and the sparks between them couldn’t be denied. There was moments of fun, moments of sadness and moments of incredible sexiness. Plus, we got to see the previous band members and see how things are going with everyone with little pieces here and there. It was perfect! If you haven’t read this series I hope you give it a whirl because it is AWESOME!
Strike A Chord gets a SUPER SEXY AND AMAZING FIVE BRIGHT AND BOLD STARS!
Strike A Chord, #4 and last book in the Replay series.
“How do we find ourselves again when the thing that defines us disappears?”
I really loved to read Benji’s story. He was nothing I thought he would be like, he was even better. And Paris? Woe, totally crushing on him right now!!
“Listening to that music in your head?” Paris teases. “It’s not in my head, silly. It’s all around us; you just need to know how to listen.”
AMAZING!!!!!!
Oh how much I love Benji and Paris!! They are so flipping hot and adorable and just perfect. Their story is sweet, fun and just kept my eyes glued to the pages. I love how the Downward Spiral series concludes here and will miss these guys so much. Well,I guess I will just need to add this to my reread list!
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
The fourth book in the Replay series, and for this to flow the way it should, the previous books should be read first. Throughout the series Benji has been the quiet one, the “good” one that doesn’t cause any trouble. While the other three members of the band are imploding, Benji is just waiting to find out if they are breaking up or going to continue to make music. He decides to go home while he waits and join his best friend London and London’s brother Paris. Paris is Benji’s long time crush, but after a failed attempt, Benji felt like he was put straight in the friend zone. Paris’ life is taking a dive, his injury means he may be done with his football career, so he went home to Ohio to do his rehab and sulk. When Benji comes home, the two end up becoming fake boyfriends as a publicity stunt, but what happens when the fake starts to feel more real? Can two people that live completely different lives on different sides of the country make something more work for them?
I loved this series! Benji and Paris’ story just finishes the whole thing perfectly, and I’m now sad to see them go. With loads of drama, and some super steamy naughty bits, this kept me entertained and I didn’t put it down until it was done. I give this 5 stars.
Pining. All the pining. 15 years of pining! Both of them!!
I knew I had to read this book when I read the 1st line of the blurb. To say I loved this book would be an understatement. I love fake relationships and coupled with years of pining, it was made for me. This book is dual POV with alternative past and present in the first half.
Paris and Benji are amazing together. My heart for Paris ’cause he thought Benji was dating his twin in high school when actually Benji and London(twin) were just messing around.
There are a lot of characters from previous books. I haven’t read any other books by this author so they were new to me. We meet Royal and his boyfriends and I’m pretty sure they have their own book in another serious. Then ofcourse Benji’s bandmates and their boyfriends. I loved the side couples even though I’m not a huge fan of bdsm and daddy kink(Jace, Asher and Bennett)
I loved London too. He’s such an amazing brother.
Obviously I loved this book. Highly recommended to everyone who loves mutual pining and fake relationships.
