Aryn Greyson needs a fake mate, and fast. The alpha college sophomore has told his pack leader he found his omega, and now Braedan wants to welcome the new Greyson into the family.Trae “Stray” Vagorien, omega fourth-year student, has no pack, no money, and supposedly no morals. He’s definitely got no need for a stupid, arrogant alpha in his life. When college heartthrob Aryn Greyson offers him a … offers him a thousand dollars for posing as his mate for a night, including family dinner and sharing a double room in a five-star hotel, Trae finds his views on alphaholes confirmed–and accepts. Nothing is going to happen in that king-size bed. That’s the deal. Aryn is determined to behave honorably and stand by his promise, and Trae has enough pride and attitude to make sure that he will.
But what if their hormones and hearts have other ideas?
Can a relationship that started with an insult and a lie ever turn into something real?
STRAY is a 35k non-shifter omegaverse gay romance containing a sweet alpha who needs to grow up, a snarky omega with a fear of thunderstorms, hurt/comfort, a night of primal passion, lots of fluff and heartbreak, and a happy ending. 18 plus!

Stray is Book 1 in The Denny’s Den College Series. A non-shifter PNR
I went into this book/ series completely blind and wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I love PNR books and this one seemed different & intriguing.
I was pleasantly surprised by this cleverly written short read but I was completely drawn in and mesmerised.
Trae has some strong reservations and opinions on all alpha’s and for the most part is completely warranted. He’s been treated very badly and can understand the way he thinks. Does Aryn deserve to be treated with the same contempt, no not really.
Aryn isn’t typically shallow & heartless and doesn’t like nor agree with the way Trae gets treated. But the proposal & lie that follows in this story…… oh dear! He has a lot of pressure in some aspects of his life, like get top grades, be the best & find a mate. The pressure comes from his alpha who also happens to be his brother.
I found myself paying close attention and really being drawn into this world.
The chemistry & heat between these two is tangible although they would never admit that as they try to avoid each other.
This is a great, unique, sassy, complex emotions, slightly steamy/ slow burn read.
I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.Crystel Greene
Aryn and Trae had a surprisingly sweet opposites attract romance. Loner and feisty, Trae didn’t realize how quickly he could fall in love even while fighting against it. Quiet alpha Aryn had admired Trae from afar and when an opportunity arose he stumbled on it and worked hard to convince Trae that what started as a fake relationship could turn into forever. This was a short and sweet romance set in an alpha/omega universe with off-page mpreg conversations.
I love omegaverse books. This one is perfect for me. Aryn is a super jock Alpha who needs to compete on the hunter team this season. But his pack Alpha says no way, not unless he picks up his grades or finds his mate. Since he already made team Captain he needs to figure it out fast. His crush, Omega Trae, has a scandalous reputation so maybe he wouldn’t mind posing as his prospective mate.
Trae is a packless omega. Basically thought of as one step up from prostitute. So when Alpha Aryn asks him to pose as his mate for money, he is pissed and insulted. But Aryn is also hot, and he could put the Alpha in his place just for fun so he accepts.
Trae is a super sexy omega who has walls of defense around him. Hes been treated like crap from Alphas for a long time. His cool attitude has kept him from showing his hurt. But when Aryn and he share the hotel room that night, they both change.
I love omega heats, knotting, Alpha/omega dynamics. Aryn is a sweet, adorkable Alpha. Trae is a misunderstood and mistreated omega.
I loved the story, the pacing, the characters. It is a non shifter in the way that the are were-wolves but they don’t shift in the book. I needed to clarify that for myself as the students take a “were Alpha” class. So it is a shifter book, they just don’t shift in it. That’s my understanding anyhow. I am intrigued in the backstory of the murders. I want to read Braeden’s story and more. ! So glad I got to read this book.
The author does a wonderful job of creating the world for these characters to inhabit and in making all the characters interesting even in ths short read. I liked the fact that often in such stories it is the alpha who is the snarky one that we initially feel a reason to dislike, but here is it our omega who has such a deep prejudice about alphas. It was wonderful watching Trae’s walls come down as Aryn shatters all his preconceptions. There are hints of things going on in the world that should become quite interesting over the course of this series and I look forward to more from this author who is new to me.
Holy moly, this was steamy! Sweet and romantic. This was the beginning of the Fennys Den College series. Aryn lied and told his pack leader that he’d found his omega. He needs to find one fast. Trae has no pack and no money; he agrees for a price. They end up sharing a bed. I loved the hurt/comfort aspect in this story! I loved Aryn and Trae!! This was a quick read for me, but the story had a lot of depth. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Received ARC from GRR for an honest review.
I thought this was such a sweet book. Aryn has been slightly obsessed with Trae since beginning college at Fenny. Well Trae tries his hardest to stay away from Aryn. In Aryn’s second year he comes up with a fake mate scheme and enlists the help of Trae. Of course they figure out that they both have been pining for each other and it is our bliss. Then there is slight misunderstanding. But I’m the end they have their HEA. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet omegaverse read.
Where to start?
The ending is always a good place
I’m smiling as I leave this review while also wishing for more yet knowing I’ll get my answers as the series progress
I liked the backdrop the author created here.
Not only does Trae have the everyday hurdles of being an omega he also has to face the hardships and negative connotations that comes from being an orphan, pack less – A stray.
Aryn isn’t your typical alphahole – and we do get a brief introduction to a real alphahole who I am sure we will be seeing more of in future episodes – Aryn just wants to make his Alpha proud but he is not looking for a mate or at least not consciously. He wants to be captain of the hunt team, his alpha wants him to settle down.
Not an easy balancing act for either of them
This was a sweet romance that left me with all the warm fuzees
Laughter, Family, Hope, Hurt, Comfort, Love –
I do have a few questions about the college – Fennys Den
About a possible evil plot (something Trae said)
What their future is – I am hoping book two gives us a continuation as well as a new couple
Definitely going forward as I am thoroughly invested in how this plays out when they get back to campus (this ends on a happy for now but my hope is that being the first in the series the author will continue their story in the series)
and I really really want to know
Stray by Crystel Greene is the first book in the Fanny Den College series. This omegaverse MM romance has sweetness, snark, insecurities, misunderstandings, and a pretend relationship that starts to feel all too real. Aryn and Trae are fun characters and I enjoyed getting to know them and see them figure their way through this adventure of finding each other, finding love. My heart was happy reading this.
I read this when I needed a quick fix of M/M, Alpha-Omega naughtiness. So basically I just chose Stray because it’s short. I love M/M shifter stories, but the non-shifter variety with just the Alpha-Omega dynamics works just as well. And boy, did Stray work well!
Despite the compact story format, the characters weren’t only darn endearing and catching my interest, but they were also surprisingly well developed. Not only did I immediately like both Aryn and Trae, but Greene made me want to learn more. Both about them and the Fennys Den College world. There shouldn’t be any room for world-building in a 157-page read, and yet Greene managed it. That’s bloody impressive.
Now, it’s a really simple story line, and there’s no room for side stories. But the supporting characters still feels three-dimensional and there’s a hint about an underlying plot about murdered Were families. And it all just melded together to this yummy read that left me wanting more. Way more.
In summary, this is a great read if you need an M/M, Alpha-Omega quickie. I’m really impressed by Greene’s writing. She managed a perfectly balanced short story. Romance, sexual tension, character depth and a fresh new angle on a Were universe.
If she’d ever decide to write full-length novels with a bit more flesh on them bones, I bet they’d be 5-stars.

Stray is the first book in The Fenny Den College by author Crystel Greene. I loved this story. It is a cute fast-paced story that really made me smile as I read it. I love a good lighthearted story with true love thrown in. Really appeals to the romantic at heart in me.
Aryn, he needs a fake mate and fast. He is already obsessing about a beautiful omega who is aloof and carefree. But he really wants to be a part of a sports team this year. His brother who is Alpha of his pack says he cannot, he is a sophomore in college and his freshman year was less than spectacular. He needs to pull his grades up, find a mate, and be settled down. So, he lies to his brother and says he already found his Omega. Well, now he has to ask the man who he keeps watching if he would be his fake Omega for the weekend.
Aryn is clumsily shy. He really screws up the asking part. But I felt for the guy. He is cute and sweet.
Trae has a chip on his shoulder about Alphas. He is a fourth-year college student and doesn’t want an Alpha telling him what to do. He is homeless and struggled for everything he has. He doesn’t want some spoilt rich kid messing with his life.
Trae has been through a lot and that has caused him to be callas in some ways. I liked the more he got to know Aryn the more he sees who Aryn really is verse who he thought he was.
These guys come full circle. Both have a ton of growing up in this story. I loved watching it all unfold. I think this is a great start to the series and I cannot wait to see where it takes us in the next book.
Five Shooting Stars
One of my favorites -enemies to lovers- hurt/comfort, Alpha’s, omega’s, mates, this was an awesome story!
All, yes ALL the feelings, the best. I cried, my dear heart, it cramped, it shattered, it stuttered.
Awesome story!! Absolutely a must-read!
Trae is a beautiful stunning omega, without family, without a pack. Deeply insulted by the offer from alpha were Aryn has to be his fake mate so Aryn will get the access ticked to a hunting game, and Aryn will pay him a thousand dollars. They have to share a room but Aryn promises him he will sleep on the ground.
Trae hates Aryn, even though his scent is delicious.
Aryn has respect for Trae, this beautiful omega, his scent is making him delirious.
When Trae accepts his offer, he understands too late what this looks like, how insulting it looks.
How can he ever makes up to Trae. His feelings for this beautiful omega is overwhelming!
Oh my freaking goodness this was a TOP story. I loved everything about it.
All those feelings, the hurt/comfort, the undeniable call from a mate. All the feelings.
My heart did funny things. It has an overwhelming mating scene!
Awesomely written story, with the focus on the important things of a story. Very lovable characters, the development was great. The whole story stunning!
One of my favorites alpha omega stories of 2019!
