I liked the characters, especially the unique female lead. The others in the book were also good. While the murderer was exceptionally violent there was an element of sympathy for all he had been through. Some of the descriptions of his violence were pretty raw but the author didn’t dwell too long on them. Some of the passages were pretty improbable, however, this is a work of fiction and must be judged as such. I do recommend this book but it’s not for the sensitive squeamish.
Not a book I would recommend for everyone.
6 STARS!!!
So well written. The characters are well developed, the plot is addictive, the hows and whys are satisfyingly answered! The only downside is it’s Bartsch’s only book (hopefully that changes, soon)
EXCELLENT I love this book.
Weird and scary
The killer is terrifyingly psychotic. Only a publicity hungry journalist knows the truth. It’s a last try for a washed up FBI agent to make good. Frightening high tension ending. Don’t read this alone at night.
This was so scary and didn’t know what would happen until the end.
Loved it! Serial killer who draws strawberries at the scene of the crime, high-priced prostitute (love her!), old cop. Plenty of twists to keep me interested. The story unfolds in a different way than most books, but it all comes together, surprisingly, in the end. My favorite book so far this year!
i really enjoyed this book
This book was way too dark for my tastes
I couldn’t put it down! I had to know what would happen next, even when it meant losing sleep. Each of the characters is so well written and their stories collided in surprising ways. Even the ending is satisfying. Any fan of Chuck Palahniuk (like myself) will devour this book. I can’t wait to find out what else this author has to offer.
This book didn’t start great for me as it seemed a bit morose. However, that changed pretty quickly with some very imaginative and relatable characters. It can get a little gruesome at times, but a great read anyway. Exceeded expectations and a great read.
I only read a few pages. I didn’t like the language and there was to much sex.
Unnearving. I couldn’t finish it. I found it annoying and gruesome.
A little scary but you just can’t put down !
Detailed, fast action. Human limitations were almost realistic. Good multi-story transitions.
Great characters that live and breathe beyond the pages.
Scary, creepy, gave me nightmares. ‘Nough said.
I thought it was good.
it is not the type of book I normally read. I considered (but not for long) not finishing it. But it is captivating. I don’t want to say I liked it but I did
Took awhile to get to know the characters but loved them when I figured them out.
