“Beyond twisted and filthy hot, Strangeways is the most unique sci-fi romance I’ve read in years!” NYT Bestselling author, Anna Zaires I have been chosen. One moment I was leaving work, the next I was entertaining a silvery-green alien intent on knowing me fully. Their invasion of our world nonviolent, seamless. They dress as human men, eat in human restaurants, vote, pay taxes, and are … seamless.
They dress as human men, eat in human restaurants, vote, pay taxes, and are controlling every last one of us.
I don’t understand how no one else can see what I see? That their beauty is a trap.
They have come here for women, intent on creating life partners—through seduction, mental manipulation, employing muscular bodies capable of fulfilling any female desire. Shaping themselves to our wants.
Until we’ve each been claimed, marked, and changed. Assimilated.
We don’t have a choice. They can make us like it. They can make us desire them. They can make us do anything they want.

I think Addison Cain has named this series appropriately. “Strangways,” says nothing and yet describes everything. And in a Twilight Zone frame of mind, wouldn’t this be exactly what could happen? The dynamics between Phi and Emily are sometimes a bit mind-boggling and it flips to one of endearment which kept me intrigued and wanting to find out more about, not only Earth and the human race but also the species that has invaded and simulated into the populace. She’s given us a tease of more books to follow and hope this isn’t the end of our couple’s story and go into a new one without somehow tying them together. This was interesting and definitely worth keeping an eye out for the next one.
So this was a really enjoyable and different short read.
Phi and Emily, hes an alien newly arrived on earth, she is the human that has captured his attention.
Emily also feels an instant connection to Phi despite him being a totally different species.
So Earth men are dying out, they are not living past 40 years and the women of Earth now vastly outnumber them.
The aliens arrived in there ships a year ago, they arrived peacefully and without a shred of violence or any manner of force.
Are they genuine or do they have a hidden agenda they are not revealing this is what Emily is silently asking herself and she cant understand why no one else is doing the same.
Until her questions are finally answered in the form of her very own alien lover Phi.
So wow this was all kinds of strange and imaginative and just so very unique, got so say I bloody loved it.
Its not an exceptional long story (novella Length) but every word had purpose and It was just so unusual and distinct.
It also has some super alien sexy bits that were dang hot and heavy.
This one also had a much sweeter vibe to it than we are used to from this author it was slightly different from her usual style but just as good as we’ve come to expect.
I am hoping we may get more from this world in the future, fingers crossed.
So yep really enjoyed this one: thumbs up folks.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Strangeways.

What the freak lol. Okay I’ve read ALPHA series by Addison maybe a couple years ago and loved it. I was stuck in a book slump so I decided to read this because I KNEW it would be something new and exciting. Different is an understatement. I was 100% torn reading this. I was completely confused and so on the fence. Back and forth wondering if this is romantic or just a psycho alien!!! For real I was lost in the sauce but you know I read this book completely through in under an hour! Yes its a small book but whoa what the deuce was going on. I know what was going on it was just really wild in the imagination department and I loved how in depth it was with details to let me know that the character Emily was in touch with her surroundings most of the time and she knew something was going on. She wasn’t completely blind like the world. But Phi now. Idk he was strange for sure. Strangeways is the exact perfect title I suppose!! Lol he is indeed strange. The instrument he had was VERY STRANGE. Like whattt!?!?!? Lol insane. Lol I loved it though. I was pretty happy to have gotten out of my book slump. I read this one, then the next night I read Thirst. and today I finished A night by my fire. Absolutely love that one the best. But this book was amazing too. It helped me alot and I enjoyed reading this story too much. Ofcourse I told my sister about it. She thinks I’m crazy
More Aliens please
That ending, it feels like we may get more, when is the question.
With this author I never know what to expect she has given me most favorite alphas and some of the most twisted with a dash of sweet, the one here started as a devious hidden agenda antihero but by the end with a nearly clear view he was the lesser of the evils the heroine faced, I enjoyed the intrigue in figuring out who it would all play for the end.
Wonderful novella! Please note that it is a novella, not a full length book.
Now let me start off by saying, I am not usually into alien romance but when Addison Cain puts out a new story I haven’t read before, well then I give anything a chance. What I love about Cain’s writing is that she has a way of taking something completely taboo, and making you fall so hard for it.
Strangeways is the story of a waitress who brings home an alien, alien falls for waitress, waitress plays a mental tug of war with herself whether what she is doing is right or wrong, and eventually said waitress has to decide if she stays with alien or goes back to her normal life. Throw in some pretty hot and heavy romance and you have one very interesting, quick read.
this was incredibly hot. the way it was written was brilliant as its not until the end that you find out the truth and realize the way the story was written all matched this ‘truth’ about Phi and the others. incredibly realistic and steamy hot in how they ‘mated’ hahaha. id love to read more about this world that the author built up but it was a good ending. it felt completed
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher to review.

This is a short story that will keep you on your toes and the edge of your seat. This is the story of Phi and Emily. She is human and he is an alien that is new to earth and she has caught her attention to which she feels a instant connection. Well if this doesn’t freak her out somewhat then nothing is ever going to because they are of totally different species. However everything is not as it seems. These alien guys are not living past forty years and the woman of earth are way outnumbering them. Are they here to be peacefully or are they here to do something shady? That you have to read to find out. I really enjoyed this book and aliens are not usually my thing, but I really liked this thing.
Such a great and unexpected sci-fi romance! Emily and Phi are such a sexy couple and I love this author’s writing style. The plot is unique and fun and I would love to read more stories from this universe. Phi is a totally sweetheart and I would definitely want one for myself haha. Awesome read and definitely recommend for some sweet and sexy aliens!
Phi and Emily’s story is a quick one and definitely does not follow the typical pattern for a romance. I found this story to be a quick read and full of heat and completely original. It was fun reading how the characters were learning and assimilating to one another and where their story takes them.
Hot alien alpha and a strong ethnic woman equals amazing sexy times!!! This is another book that I would say is not (in my opinion) the norm for mistress Cain, although it is amazing!!!!
Aliens come to earth to mate with women, in a way it’s a good thing as the men of Earth are sick and don’t live long lives. The issue is everything is not as it seems!!!
Emily works as a waitress to support herself and her brothers family, the sickness is taking hold. She meets Phi while serving him and her whole world literally changes!!!
Phi is a hot alien looking for his mate, when he finds her he does everything to keep her. The question is what is he hiding?
This was honestly a great book that I would love to have more of. Phi and Emilys story or maybe another mated couples. It’s also a first (that I know of) alien book by Addison Cain.
I am a huge fan of Addison’s and this story, while somewhat different from her other books, did not disappoint. I love the way she can build a scene and draw you right in. I have read several alien/human stories but usually the aliens are human-like. Phi’s shape shifting parts were definitely new territory for me. I hope this will someday be a more fleshed out series.
This is the first type of story like this from this author in this type of world and its unlike any of her other darker books. I must say I was VERY impressed, though not surprised she is a great author. This alien that has some very interesting type of sexual appendages that are kins of hot. The sex scenes were so hot, and the book ends with a HEA which is also a rarity in A. Cain’s books. It was a great quick read that kept the pages turning.
Who doesn’t love an alien alpha? If there’s life out there, lets hope it’s like Phi. I’m so happy to see this take on it’s own, since the anthology it came in originally isn’t around anymore, because everyone deserves to enjoy the fun and heat of Pi and Emily. It’s an almost sweet story, compared to Addison’s typical tale, but still shows her skill with crafting the naughty and erotic.
I loved this steamy sci-fi read. Aliens have invaded Earth and no one is the wiser. The seamless become part of the population as they seduce human women, changing them. Emily is a waitress and when she meets Phi sparks fly and the attraction is instant. Emily goes home with Phi but she suspects what has happened but will she be able to say no to Phi? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and intense chemistry. I was hooked from beginning to end.
Strangeways has it all. It’s got the fantasy, the suspension of disbelief, but more importantly, it’s got me believing and hoping there are intelligent life forms out there with great, adaptable assets who are down for this type of alien invasion superbly detailed in this book. I could not, would not put it down until the end. Clever with the genetic manipulation and streamlined integration, it’s a striking science fiction short story. The cultural setup in the post invasion setup is realistic and sets up the female protagonist’s key assets to shine. It ties up neatly with a happy, pleasing ending.
Ok, this was fascinating and creepy and addicting! It’s a fast, fun read, but I couldn’t stop once I started and it totally left me needing more of the story. Really fascinating and so unique.
Holy hotness alert! Just when you thought Addison Cain had hit a maximum level of hotness, she comes out with something as smoking as strangeways. Such an incredibly interesting read. I loved how the main character fought the instant love vibe. The struggle is real and so very well written. If it’s written by Addison Cain, it’s a must have.
Somehow I haven’t read this one before, even though I know it’s a re-release of a story that was in an anthology. Because of this, it is a shorter, fast-paced adventure with a lot of sexiness. I’m torn as to whether or not the story needed more. Part of me would have liked it to move a little bit slower and I would have loved to spend more time with the characters. The other part of me thinks that if it was lengthened it would lose some of it’s charm. I do hope that is spins off into a series of some sort because there are some interesting characters that I would love to see again.
If you are a lover of short stories, aliens who only wish to make their human women happy, women who are fierce and also have pure hearts, and some serious sexiness then this is a must read.
Well what a read! It kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. I fell in love and I didnt want the book to end. It had just the right elements of mystery, darkness, sweetness, hotness and just pain love. It was a great take on aliens coming to earth. I loved every second and want more!
