Very interesting story.
A woman’s father had swindled the people of a town. The swindler’s daughter is Elizabeth and she wants to right the wrong and she comes to the town. There she meets Rogan. The story progresses from there about the relationship between Elizabeth and Rogan.
The story is not just a romance between the main characters. How it moves on weaving the lives of most of the people in the town was enjoyable. The story dealt with various other themes like love, understanding and forgiveness.
Overall, a very satisfying a read.
Wow
Mary writes another series that you want to find out what happens to everyone in it. Never person will get total happiness, but to right wrongs is in the plus side.
Strangers Like Us is an entertaining contemporary romance by Mary Campisi. Ms. Campisi has given us a book that is well-written and loaded it with fantastic characters. Rogan’s family was swindled along with most of the town. He returned to his hometown to help his family, leaving a job he enjoyed and an ex behind. Elizabeth learns that her father was the con man that hurt the town and is urged by her uncle to pay it back without anyone knowing. Rogan and Elizabeth’s story is loaded with drama, humor, secrets and suspicion. I enjoyed this story and look forward to my next book by Mary Campisi. Strangers Like Us is book 1 of the Reunion Gap Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
This book was an easy read and somewhat entertaining. The love scenes were glossed over. It felt like the author’s attempts to describe the psychology of some the characters fell short. Although stand alone, the book did superficially introduce other characters, especially towards the end in a too obvious attempt to get the reader interested in reading other books from this series.
it kept me wondering how it would end, enjoyed it.
Cute and light hearted. I liked the characters.
I liked portions of this book. This is the first book in the series and the author spends a significant portion of the book introducing the complications that will drive the other books. In doing this she shortchanges the relationship between Rogan and Elizabeth. It’s billed as a stand alone but it really isn’t.
I’m always happy to see a Campisi book because I know it’s a winner!
When I’m feeling stressed or low, I love to read a feel good story, and nothing is better than a second chance story to fill the need. Mary Campisi is great at writing second chance stories. Furthermore, I like that there are several series of them. I like getting to know the ‘community’ and many of the characters. This was no exception.
sweet, boy meets girl falls in love.
Although I really enjoyed the book I was not happy about the abrupt end.
I love this author. She gives a reader great characters and an intriguing story line.
It was ok twisted the people got me mix up like it was more the one story
I loved it. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it.
Nice read. It took a lot for Rogan to forgive her.
I was disappointed that it left me hanging. I turned the page looking forward to seeing what was next and the book was over…….to be continued.
I like this authors writings and this story pulls you right in. I could not put this book down and read it straight through. Looking forward to the next book in this series by this autho.r
good read
I was disappointed in this book. The two main Characters were interesting but I felt they & the relationship were not fully developed . I also found it predictable.
