Ford & Sawyer (The Beginning).
In a season of surprises… With all flights canceled due to an incoming snowstorm and no vacancies left in the small town of Amber Falls, Ford Erickson reluctantly agrees to take his hot, rich boss home for Christmas. Already fighting a sky-high attraction to the aloof Mr. Lancaster, how is Ford supposed to cope with having him within touching distance in the … how is Ford supposed to cope with having him within touching distance in the adjoining room for the holidays?
He’s bound to make Santa’s naughty list with all that temptation.
A family Christmas in a small town was not at all the way Sawyer Lancaster had expected his holiday to go… and his plans definitely hadn’t included his adorable assistant and his lovely parents who welcome him into their home with open arms. No. This wasn’t at all how his holiday break had been meant to play out. Sawyer’s schedule had consisted of him showing up and spending the bare minimum amount of time with friends before going back to his cold apartment… alone.
But then again, the best gifts don’t always come wrapped in pretty bows.
Sawyer finds himself grabbing the chance to share the season with Ford and his parents. What he’d secretly yearned for was now within his grasp… and even included a family to go along with the dream. When the weather clears will Sawyer find to the courage to accept that maybe, just maybe, he’s found the perfect gift in Ford?

Stranded with His Boss and Forever With His Boss are Amber Falls books one and two by author Rheland Richmond. I got both of these books in one anthology, so I am doing one review for both of them. You do need to read these books in order. Book two picks up where book one left off.
Ford in book one he is desperately looking for a flight out of town for his boss. He is all anxious cause he cannot even get the man a place to stay. They are in a very small town. He has always thought his boss was hot, but he is full of anxiety about how Sawyer sees him.
I liked by book two these two have gone from awkward stage to full-on love. They are each such great people it is nice to see the transition.
Sawyer is a good person. He is family-oriented and usually a loner. He needs what Ford can bring to him. Family and sense of where he belongs. Once he gets that, he really blossoms into a great person. He has a lot to give both financially and emotionally.
I loved these two together they are the extension of the other person. They bring out the best in each other. I loved the humor in both stories, and the sweet hometown feels. I cannot wait for more from this series in the future.
Five Shooting Stars
I was given a free arc copy from the author for review.

This was a super quick read. It is insta love that is way OTT sugary sweet but also fun. I loved the 2 MCs and they had perfect chemisty. The parents were adorably sweet too. It was light heat and basically no angst. It takes place at Christmas but I didn’t even mind that I was reading this in almost April as it’s more focused on the couple. I did find things progressed at warp speed but they did say they knew each other for 5 months so I guess it’s believable but it still felt super fast. Despite this and the fact that it was way sweeter than anything I normally read I loved it. Just depends on your preference and what you’re in the mood for. I read it all at once with a huge grin. I have only read one other book I believe from this author but I will definitely read them more and am going to jump right into the next book which is also about them.
I really enjoyed the Amber Falls series, and I mention this because all 3 books tell the whole story. While Stranded With His Boss can be read as a standalone with its HEA I recommend picking them all up.
I liked Ford and Sawyer together, it’s not quite an insta-love as they’ve had an attraction to each other for months but haven’t acted on it given their working relationship. But when things change, it happens fast! You can feel the connection they have and it doesn’t seem rushed or forced even though this is a shorter novella.
I have to say of the two I adored Ford and especially his parents. I really felt for Sawyer given his background and it was nice to see the rich guy being swept off his feet for once.
The book is full of romantic, perfect moments and feels like the best of the Hallmark holiday movies. If you’re looking for a short sweet holiday romance with a super romantic pivotal decision point then I highly recommend this. Continue on with book 2 and 3 if you want quite a bit more angst and depth to Sawyer and Ford’s love story.
This was such a sweet, easy to read story, with a lot of heart. The ‘heart’ in the book wasn’t solely the budding relationship of the two mcs, but between Sawyer and Ford’s parents.
Can there be a bigger ‘we shouldn’t be doing this’ moment/relationship than between boss and employee? It makes it all the more intriguing. It’s like you could physically feel the magnetic pull as soon as they left for Ford’s house.
This was a great start to the series and I’m looking forward to spending more time with the couple in the next book.
***I received a copy of this book for my reading pleasure. All thoughts and opinions are my own.***
I read this as a box set, so my review encompasses all three books:
This trilogy was so good!! I adored Ford and Sawyer together and their journey (and chemistry) was amazing. Dean and Owen were a fantastic addition – gfy always makes my heart melt. Great reads!!!
This hooked me from the very beginning! Sawyer gets stranded over Christmas, he stays with Ford. I seriously loved this short story! I loved Ford parents. Lots of warm fuzzy feelings reading this! I’m voluntarily leaving a review from an advanced copy that I received.
Short and sweet, money definitely isn’t everything
Sawyer and Ford are perfect for each other, but working together as boss/employee isn’t enough for them to take the first step. Getting snowed in for Christmas is the catalyst that forces Sawyer to re-evaluate all his life choices and decide committing to a relationship is well overdue. An endearing mix of a very slow burn and then almost instant head over heels, totally in it. I wish I had had parents like Ford!
This book is fairly short. Quick and sweet read with insta love between the main characters. There is no complicated plot, only sweet characters. If you want totally uncomplicated quick romance to make you feel good, do read this one.
A good start as it seems Sawyer was suck in Amber Falls over Christmas.
A great romance for Sawyer and Ford falling in love with Ford being employed 5 months ago. Sawyer was stuck without a room or a plane flight. I didn’t love this as some scenes confused me. A sex scene was not included but skimmed over.
I loved the ending of this and had to giggle at them after the taxi ride scene. A good HFN ending.
• snowed in Christmas
• boss & employee relationship
• hot chemistry
• lace panties
When Ford 23 yrs tries to organize a plane trip for his boss, Sawyer 34 yr and finding all are snowed in for the holidays.
4.5 stars! I enjoyed this sweet Christmas romance. Lots of feel-good moments. I loved Ford’s parents; especially his mom and her attempts to push him and Sawyer together. When the pivotal moment in their relationship came, I cheered at Sawyer’s choice.
This was my first Rheland Richmond book, and I loved it! I fell in love with Sawyer and Ford immediately. And I adored Ford’s parents and their “meddling.” I became so invested in the characters. I wish the book had been a little longer or there would have been a prologue showing where Ford and Sawyer were a few years down the road. Truly looking forward to the next book in the series.
Sweet romance with a slight edge in a snug, snow-filled Christmas
4.5stars
Really well put together romance with a blizzard, Christmas and cozy family connection. Sawyer, the wealthy real estate entrepreneur who connects with younger man Ford, was my favorite of the two leads, largely because of his upbringing and the poignant notes his lonely lifestyle and thoughts of his mother bring to the story.
The romance of stolen kisses, a nighttime sleigh ride and sharing private memories and dreams for the future: great way to move them from boss-employee and out of the realm of the casual connection No real angst, just a blip that’s here and quickly overcome, some brief intimate moments that just tip the balance into steamy, and plenty of warmth added by Ford’s supportive parents.
I really enjoyed this introduction to the Amber Falls series and will be reading on to the next to see how these two guys mesh in the longer term. Plus, there’s got to be a story in waiting in the wings for hunky neighbor Wyatt!
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Loved the book and looking forward to reading more of the series.
As other Ms Richmond’ stories, the story of Sawyer and Ford is cute and endearing. This boss/employee relationship that finishes when both fell in love with the other and starts their forever is uncomplicated and makes a relaxing reading. I’m waiting for the promised next books in the Amber Falls’ series!!!
