Straight Up is another great addition to Charity Farrell’s Twisted Fox series, and bridges the gap with her Blue Beech series since Cassidy is the youngest sister of Sierra, Kyle, etc.
In Straight Up, we get to know Archer’s brother, Lincoln, better and learn how going to prison protecting his dad affected him. He’s trying to make an honest living working at his brother’s bar, and is keeping his nose clean. Then a spitfire named a Cassidy starts waitressing at Twisted Fox. No matter how much he tries to stay away from her, Linc is drawn to her magnetic personality, her sense of humor and kind heart.
Fresh off an arrest of her own when her boyfriend made her take the fall for his drug run, Cassidy is on a break from guys. So getting involved with Lincoln is the last thing she sets out to do. But there is a sizzle underneath their easy friendship, and despite her best efforts, Cass is falling fast.
You would think that Lincoln’s past would be the problem that comes between them. But it’s her past that does. Cassidy puts him in a really awkward position, and I understood both sides when she lashed out. I was glad to see that the resolution came quickly and wasn’t dragged on, because I loved these two together and wanted them to move past it!
Straight Up is a great friends to lovers romance. Cassidy and Lincoln have sizzling chemistry, a great friendship and really come to depend on one another. I was shipping them from the start!
We also catch up with the other couples, see Cohen and Jamie have their baby, and get a GREAT tease for Grace’s story!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I have really enjoyed this series so far and Straight Up kept it moving up the list of favorites! This story brings us Lincoln; the mysterious brother of Archer looking for a fresh start. Also new to the bar scene is Cassidy who always seems to land the bad boy.
Cassidy was a great character with her quick whit and going after exactly what she wanted. I love when the heroine of the story just says what she wants and no beating around the bush. Lincoln was a fabulous leading man. He fell into the wrong side of things and although loyalty is a good thing sometimes it is definitely misplaced.
Together this couple grow into something wonderful and I definitely recommend reading!
We’re back to the Twisted Fox and this time it’s Lincoln and Cassidy’s turn.
Lincoln is Asher’s brother, who has just out of prison after taking the fall for his dad’s crimes and is working at the bar Asher owns.
Cassidy, down on her luck and fresh out of a bad relationship, a relationship that caused her a night in prison and a drug charge due to her ex. She’s just taken in a job at the Twisted Fox to get herself back on her feet and from the moment she sees Lincoln she sets her sights on him.
Cassidy is a confident woman and isn’t afraid to overly flirt with Lincoln, making her intentions clear. They spend a lot of time together on shifts, which bring them close. They start as friends and getting to know each other and I loved this about them. They were fun, flirty and made me laugh.
I loved that their relationship started with them being open and honest with each other, they were so free with each other, however, both still had a few secrets, secrets that could potentially ruin what they had.
As the story played out and Cassidy was hurt, she pushed Lincoln away so he wouldn’t find out what had happened to her, and when he found out I ached for him and the decision he had to make, as that would betray her trust, but to keep her safe he would take the risk to lose her.
I loved Cassidy’s character, she was upbeat, happy, flirty and I loved her teasing ways with Lincoln.
Lincoln is a swoon-worthy boyfriend, he’s honest, very genuine, listens and can bring all the heat!
I love this series and Ferrell’s words. This was a low on the angst read, with a story that flowed and held my interest. I loved the chemistry they shared and the easy way of their friendship that was always destined for more.
We also get a little glimpse of what’s coming next and Grace and Finn are going to be interesting, I can’t wait!

I loved this book! Lincoln and Cassidy have both recently had run ins with the law and they’re both looking for a fresh start. Cassidy is impossible to dislike. She is loud, has no filter and is determined to wear Lincoln down. I loved her attitude, I loved her flirtatious behaviour and the not so subtle way she lets Linc know what she wants. Honestly Lincoln doesn’t stand a chance at resisting her, I couldn’t if I was him. She’s just a really great character that I connected with from the start.
This is a great read. It’s fun, the chemistry and tension between Cassidy and Lincoln is impossible to ignore and the banter is perfect. I can’t wait for more from this series.
There is something about reading a Charity Ferrell book that makes me all warm inside. I love reading her books, especially her Blue Beech Series and her Twisted Fox series. Both series are small town romances that constantly pull at your heart strings, I love it. Her writing just bring joy to me.
Straight up is book three of her Twisted Fox series and can I just say that it hit all the feels? Lincoln and Cassidy are made for each other. From the very beginning when she sought him out, I knew they were going to make a great couple. They both have a past and are both passionate about the people they love, from what I can tell. I think from the very beginning, you can see how much Lincoln cared about Cassidy and how he wanted to be there for her when she needed it.
Also I liked seeing Cassidy’s siblings in this one, it was a nice trip down memory lane.
I think Charity Ferrell did an awesome job with this one and I can’t wait to see where she takes Grace and Finn’s story. I’m sure that one is going to be a ride.
Why is it so hard to put it all out there?
To be the first to speak the truth –
To make your heart vulnerable?
This is part of a series. You can read it as a standalone – but each new release includes characters and events that occur in previous episodes making it twice the enjoyment if you read in order of release and I highly recommend the previous books
Cassidy lacks a brain-to-mouth filter and I gotta be honest…
It just made me love her more –
Flirty- Vibrant- Honest to a fault
She comes across as confident and outgoing and for the most part, she is. However, her past is haunting her present and could cost her even more than she’s already sacrificed for her heart’s choices.
Lincoln was once the uncaring playboy who had it all – Parties, Yachts, Women, Friends… or so he thought
Until law enforcement decided he was an accessory and stripped him of everything including his freedom.
Two tainted souls
One common bond
Can they move forward together or will the echoes of their past always surround them?
These two make the best BFFs!!
With Cassidy’s lack of filter and Lincoln’s sense of humor
They are perfect together!
That underlying chemistry that crackles between them but doesn’t quite catch was tangible for the first half of the story
When it finally did spark – INFERNO!
When we love someone we do what we believe is best for them –
No, it isn’t always the right thing for them but the heart and the head are truly two different organs
In this situation, I get why Lincoln did what he did and I can say I would have done the same thing.
I have really been enjoying this series, and I was so excited for Lincoln’s story. So when I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this story I jumped at the chance. As always Charity Ferrell gives us the Perfect balance of feels, steam, and overall a fun read. Cassidy and Lincoln’s chemistry was just perfect. I also did enjoy that this book brought together two worlds, if you haven’t read Ms. Ferrell’s Blue Beech series you seriously need to get on that ASAP. I can not recommend this series or this author enough. Definite must read!
Book 3 of the Twisted Fox series and it was such a great addition. Loved Lincoln and Cassidy. Was so happy to finally get their story. This was a fun friends to lovers romance that leave you with a smile on your face. Loved them together. They both have suffered thanks to others in their lives and watching them overcome their past to find their way to their HEA was so good. Ms. Ferrell has created a world that will suck you in from page one and not let you go until the very end and even then, you are not free of it. The story and the characters will have you wishing you that you were there right alongside them. Loved it and can’t wait until the next in this series.
I loved this book! Cassidy and Lincoln were perfection. I loved their friendship and banter and adored watching them become something more. I cannot wait until the next book in this series!
This is such a fantastic addition to the Twisted Fox series. It’s a very well written story. Cass & Lincoln are perfect. I loved the back and forth banter and the flirting between these two. We met these two characters in the previous book. Both of them had things in the past. I loved the character development and progression of their relationship. I loved Cassidy’s sass and sarcasm . These two were perfect. It was an added bonus to see all the other characters. The story was unputdownable and checked all the boxes to make a satisfying and captivating read. I can’t wait to read the next books in this series. Another fantastically written story by Charity.
Wow!!! I didn’t think I could love a couple as much as I love Archer & Georgia but Lincoln & Cassidy have stolen my heart. I loved these two so much. I wanted Lincoln’s story from the moment we got a glimpse into his past in Shaken but I definitely was not prepared for the spitfire known as Cassidy. Cassidy is picking up the pieces of the mess her ex made of her life when she just can’t help but get to know the hot bartender. This book is FIRE! The chemistry is HAF and the story will have you in all your feels. I can not wait for Grace’s story. I just know it is going to pull on my heartstrings.
Lincoln and Cassidy have had some trouble with the law. This was a no holds barred story with the two being together. Cassidy told Lincoln they were together and he didn’t object. A really fun couple.
4.5 Stars
This is the third book in the series and boy is it a great addition to the series. We have Lincoln Archer’s brother and Cassidy who we’ve met in the Blue series. Those two worlds really colliding made me squeal a bit. I loved Lincoln and Cassidy. Their banter was one of my favorite parts of the book. Man what Cassidy is going through is scary, but with the support of family and friends she will get through it. I so love the gang at the Twisted Fox. It makes me wish I could be part of the gang because they would be awesome friends to have. Lincoln is moving on to the new phase in his life and having Cassidy come crashing into his life will be the best thing to ever happen to him. She brings fun and light back into his life. Gives him hope of a second chance that he never thought he deserved. It’s a great read that’s going to suck you right in and you will have a heard time putting the book down.
I am just loving this series of interconnected standalones! And it’s so much fun to see the characters from the Blue Beech series popping up in this world as well. When I got see Cassidy meet Lincoln in the previous book I loved her attitude towards him. I could not wait to see how she pursued him and how they would feel about each other. They both have messy pasts, but I think it was perfect, like they were meant to be together. Cassidy is a force not to be reckoned with, which kind of reminds me of her sister Sierra from Just Roommates in the Blue Beech series. And Lincoln is totally swoon worthy! The way he is with Cassidy throughout the whole book makes him a total book boyfriend. I also like that he was the voice of reason for his brother, Archer, in the previous book. He’s got a great perspective and it really showed up a lot in his actions throughout his own story. Really, I just loved both of these two and I am glad we got their story. I think that book one, Stirred, will always be my favorite, BUT I am sincerely looking forward to book four, Chaser, with the teaser Charity Ferrell gave us at the end of this book. Thank you to Charity Ferrell and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Finally! It’s Lincoln and Cassidy’s story! The Twisted Fox series is seriously one of my favorite series to read, and Charity once again slayed book three. Lincoln is the newest employee at Twisted Fox, fresh out of prison, and also Archer’s brother. Cassidy also a new employee, and new to this group of friends had her life destroyed thanks to a really shit ex who got her arrested. This is a love story about two broken people who learn that it’s okay to love and rely one someone else. Trust doesn’t come easy for either Licoln and Cassidy, but they are able to find it in each other. I am a huge fan of this series, and will forever say it’s a must read. So if it’s one thing I say that you listen to it’s add this book to your TBR GoodReads list, and start with book one please! Haha. Happy Reading.
Cassidy and Lincoln’s story was good twist of sugar and spice. Both are so loyal and trusting that end up the last place one wants to be, like ever, through no fault of their own. They’ve vowed to change and never backtrack but when they meet each other they know they’re about to hit a bump in the road. I adored there back and forth banter
Another great story by this author! I love the Twisted Fox gang and I can’t wait to see what comes out next from this series!
I love Lincoln and Cassidy. They are surrounded by the Twisted Fox crew which makes for an even livelier read. Umm having said that, this couple can hold their own.
Lincoln with all his sweet hotness has me swooning throughout this book. I love who he is a bartender and brother. You can’t help but feel for him and the injustices in his life. His willingness to take ownership for his own life choices and the results of those choices is impressive. You feel his shame for having served time but you are well aware he wouldn’t have done it differently. He is protective of those he loves.
Cassidy she is full of contradictions as you travel down this telling. To be completely candid, she is my girl. I am madly in love with her because of what she says and does especially in the first half of this book. The things she states to Lincoln, mostly for shock value, has me rolling with laughter. So stinking funny.
Plan for this story to take a darker turn. Cassidy’s behavior really shifts. Most people would think it doesn’t make sense. All I will say, is that when someone is being physically threatened or abused it is often hard for them to think clearly and make rational choices. I really saw that with this character. It broke my heart. Having said that, I do wish it had been explained a little bit better because at times it felt like she was being clueless.
The story has a beautiful resolution and a wonderful HEA. Best of all, you get beautiful teases of future storylines and characters. Eek. That always makes my heart so happy. I am a series girl for sure.
This story was a beautiful 4.5 star book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.
Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
I really enjoyed this book! Cassidy and Lincoln are more alike than they realize. Both loyal to a fault that causes them to suffer some severe consequences. Knowing their lives are forever altered, makes them second guess everything, but mostly themselves. These two find themselves working at the same bar. Their easy and fun banter is not only incredibly entertaining for the reader, but enables them to build a friendship. If these two have learned anything, it’s to protect themselves above all else. The walls they’ve build are tall and sturdy. But, somehow the friendship they form begins so easy and without expectation that it builds without those walls in place. They begin a bond like no other and it is beautiful to experience. Together they help each other find their way back to their light. Back to becoming themselves again or maybe even a better version of themselves.
“I’ll never decline a second with her. Like the serenity of the lake, she’s practically a sedative for me.”
“It’s about being around someone who shines so fucking bright that I can’t help but be zapped with her energy.”
That is, until their pasts come roaring back and making threats. They’ve come so far. Can the past suck them in again? Will it end their friendship? Will it rob their chance for the happiness they deserve?
A fun romance read filled with great characters and a fabulous story.
I read an ARC of this book. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
I’m loving this series so much and Straight Up is just as fantastic and a must read. Just when I thought Archer was my favorite, Lincoln strolls in and makes me fall in love with him. I devoured this story in on evening. These two both suffered hardships through no fault of their own and deserve a happily ever after. Will they finally get one? Read this to find out.
