I just loved this series. I binged on the whole thing the past week. I picked these up after coming across them on Amazon when I was looking for something to read while I was bored. Now, I spent the whole week sneaking in time to read all of them. I’m going to miss this series now that I finished it. This was a new to me author, and I’m so glad I found her. I’m adding her to my auto one-click list. She’s so good and deserves more attention then she probably gets.
*Review posted to all books as a general review for whole series.
The only reason this book didn’t get a better rating is because of the cheating on the girlfriend.
What a start to what is turning out to be one of my top favorite GFY series.
The Taboo feeling the straight guy gets, is my favorite aspect of this trope, and why its my crack!
FLOVED!!!
The problem with amazing short stories is how much I want them to continue. This was a hot and fabulous prison love story between Sage and Xavier. Sage is a pretty boy in need of protection and Xavier provides that protection as well as a sizzling relationship that Sage quickly becomes addicted to.
This One is ALL About the Sex!
The predictable formula is given no new twists or turns here, just the same hot “straight” guy discovering he’s actually ok with gay action, this time under the pretense of a prison stint. Cardboard characters and even lighter emphasis on location allow the sex to shine here which is certainly handled well enough. If that’s your only priority, then this short read will definitely entertain!
Straight Boy was a yummy short M/M read. I loved the whole taboo prison setting. I also loved how much I felt Sage and Xavier’s connection in such a quick read. Sage’s lust for Xavier jumped off the pages even while he denied his feelings with every breath. Xavier was so take charge, possessive, and sexy. Alessandra Hazard wrote one hell of a down and dirty read with two sexy male leads that left me wishing the book was longer!
“There’s no such thing as normal. There is no definition of normal. Normal is subjective. You can’t—and shouldn’t—force yourself to want something ‘normal’ and stop wanting what you truly want. It’s a sure way to make your life miserable.”
Behind bars for the next 12 months after a horrible DUI accident has left Sage a little fearful, especially after getting an eyeful of his new cellmate, Xavier, who has an offer to help his prison stay a little safer.
Xavier offer is simple. Sage’s willing body for his protection.
Xavier has sworn not to force himself on Sage more than publicly necessary, convinced that Sage will come to him.
Sage makes it crystal clear that he is straight on a number of times, swearing that he is only doing what he must to survive in prison. But when Xavier starts laying his claims in the shower and their cell, pushing him from his comfort zone and bringing him to a sense of pleasure he hasn’t known, Sage’s insistent chants of heterosexuality seem very far from the truth.
12 months is up and Sage is ready to get on with his life, his straight “normal” life with his girlfriend and putting Xavier out of mind. But no matter how hard he tries, something has changed. He has changed.
He is not the same man as he was when he walked into the prison. He finds his mind and body wanting and missing his cellmate and when Xavier is thrust back into his life he is faced with the realization that what he believed to be normal once no longer applied to him.
