Quite enjoyable
Makes you wish to go on a island vacation and meet a stranger. That stranger turns out to be the one for you. Loved this book.
Had some Type-O‘s but still a good book.
Cliffhanger
On her wedding day Kallie finds out her soon to be husband was caught in a comprising position with the best mans wife . She decides to go on the honeymoon by herself where she meets Ash who she presumes is just a normal guy working as a barman on the island . When she finds out Ash is mote than he’s portrayed she feels lied to and goes home to try and get over him. I loved listening to this the chemistry between Kallie and Ash was there from the minute they met and I’m hoping book 2 brings a HEA .
Kallie should have known that everything would go wrong at her wedding. The bad dreams should have given her an inkling that something wasn’t right but, then, would you expect to find your husband-to-be in a closet having his way with the wife of the best man? She didn’t need the hassle of James – the man wasn’t faithful and treated Kallie as if she were below him. She makes up her mind as to what her next step will be when she reminds herself that her honeymoon cottage is still waiting for her. It’s non-refundable and she has every intent of using it. Great choice! Checking out the beach bar, she spots a remarkably handsome bartender, or at least that’s what she thinks he is. His name is Ash, and his eye was on Kallie from the moment she walked into the bar. He’s a wealthy playboy, a good guy, but wary of getting too close to any woman he meets on the island. His family has so much money that they own half the east coast, but Ash is going to keep that information quiet. Rather than a one-night stand, Kallie and Ash choose to spend the entire next day together, something Ash has never done before. Kallie is enjoying herself more than she ever has and doesn’t want to see him go. But a secret comes to light after their night on the yacht and, even though it wouldn’t be a problem for most people, it is for Kallie because of her history with James. A lie? By omission, perhaps, but it’s a lie, nonetheless. My heart broke for Ash because he already knew that she could be “it” for him. Taking an early flight off the island is what she needs to do, but is it what she wants to do? Once home, someone’s pounding at her door and, sure enough, James has come to ask her for one more chance. (NOOO!) She’s starting to break and is thinking about giving him a chance when, there’s pounding at the door, again. There, with a huge bouquet of tropical flowers, is Ash! A perfect spot for a cliffhanger, but I want to know what happens next!
The narration is beautifully done by Hayden Hall. The characters’ voices are clear and distinct with inflection and tone that brings them to life.
