Love this whole series but I think this may have been my favorite.
“Her heart was never supposed to get involved in all this.”
Detective Cady Matthews is trying to live an unassuming life as Cassidy Livingston on the small island of Lantern Beach, off the coast of North Carolina. Her strong sense of justice has already pulled her into aiding local law enforcement twice in the short weeks of her residency, but one of the more dangerous experiences has been the attachment that her heart has made with her handsome next door neighbor, . . . . .whose ex-fiance has just shown up in his hour of need. Seriously?
Determined to push romantic notions out of her head, Cassidy stumbles onto evidence of yet another dangerous illegal operation underway on Lantern Beach. Promising a safe haven for its victims puts Cassidy on the front lines, where the risk factor is high and the probability of her own happily ever after, very low.
Another great addition to the “Lantern Beach Mysteries”.
Storm Surge, book 3 in the Lantern Mysteries series, is a great addition to the series. As I have come to expect, it is fast-paced, full of mystery, and full of the same fabulous and somewhat quirky characters I have grown to love. This series is a must-read! You will not be disappointed!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
In the third installment of this 6-book series by Christy Barritt, through no fault of her own, Cassidy ends up with another big secret to keep from her ex-Navy SEAL neighbor, Ty, who is beginning to mean a whole lot to her. Danger lurks all around, but she doesn’t feel like she can confide in Ty or any of her other new friends. Cassidy is beginning to think she might not want to go back to her old life after all, but her past may be catching up to her, right here on Lantern Beach. As she tries to help some women in need, her kindness puts her in greater danger, the secrets are driving a wedge between her and Ty, and it’s not just the mob back home that is now out to kill her! I received an e-copy of this book from the author. The opinions are my own.
Good!
Since there is so much awareness of human trafficking currently in our news and life, this book is extremely relevant. Cassidy gets herself involved with finding three women who have escaped from a mean man, the Cobra. This man is the ring leader of a group of human traffickers. There is a lot of suspense throughout the book and heart wrenching reality that makes this a great book to read.
Cassidy is at it again. Though she is supposed to be keeping a low profile, she can’t help but find trouble and try to help. And, Ty, so protective, yet questions pepper him concerning Cassidy. Their budding day by day romance is sweet. “Storm Surge” had several twists and turns I didn’t see coming , making it very difficult to put down. I look forward to finishing the series. I highly recommend!
Quick read. Keeps you interested.
