A tornado has destroyed a small Minnesota community and among the missing are not only a group of students but PEAK Rescue team leader Chet King. Ty Remington will stop at nothing to rescue his mentor, not even when the girl he loved–and lost–walks back into his life. But Brette needs his help more than he knows, despite her stubborn determination to push him away. And when he gets a second … chance, loving her just might cost him more than he can imagine.
A blogger for Vortex Storm Chasers, Brette Arnold didn’t expect her adventures to land her in the same place as Ty, the guy who she walked–no, ran–from over a year ago. She had her reasons–good ones. The kind that tell her that falling for him again would only lead to heartache. But Ty isn’t the kind of man to give up–not on the missing students, or on her.
Life and love hang in the balance in Susan May Warren’s breathless story of holding on to hope during a deadly summer of storms.

I can’t say enough good things about this series. Well written, full of action, strong characters, inspiration, and faith. I enjoyed Ty and Brett’s story (swoon!) and the revisiting of Ben and Kacey’s story as the thread of all four characters intertwine, and create a beautiful story of how God rescues our lives and hearts. This story and series stays with you long after the last page is turned. Oh, the last chapter leaves a little cliff hanger that sets the stage for the final story. I can’t wait for book six to come out!
This was a really good adventure read. How could you not worry about the characters when a tornado is coming for them? There were quite a few parts of this story that had me on the edge of my seat because time was running out. The descriptions of the devastation had me right there with them. I especially liked the romantic tension between Brette and Ty. I understood why Brette pushed him away but my heart ached for them and my mind screamed for Brette to have more faith. Full review is at my website.
I received this book complimentary as a participant of the Revell Book Tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed here are my own.
How does Susan May Warren do it? How can this series just keep getting better and better? Well, I don’t know how she does it but the series DOES get better and better! I’m totally blown away (sorry for the pun) by the storm and tornado chasing in this latest installment of Montana Rescue series. Such intense scenes and adrenaline! And I thought the last book had some pretty serious scenes with the yacht crash! The title Storm Front has several layers of meaning for this book – the literal storm front and the emotional/spiritual ones taking place in the characters’ lives. It is a well-written book with emotional and spiritual depth as well as super-charged action and beautifully flawed characters. Anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with faith, action, and a great plot will love this story (and the whole entire series!).
So this is book 5 in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone because there are good snippets of major events from previous books integrated into the story, but reading the previous books will help to fully understand the secondary characters in this book.
The story of Ty and Brette is one of misunderstanding, past hurts, self-condemnation, and insecurity. And yet, in the midst of his insecurity, Ty pursues Brette relentlessly and turns her eyes to God. Ty is probably the most emotional and spiritual out of all the heroes in this series. He feels with his entire heart and soul and spirit. Man, I actually cried with Ty through some of his memories and his heartbreaks! And Brette is probably the most independent yet the most needy heroine in the series. She tries so hard to do life by herself but realizes that she can’t.
And now I’m itching for the last book in the series which will feature Pete and Jess. Can’t wait!
I was given a complimentary copy of the book by the author and Baker Publishing. I was not required to write a favorable review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and subjective.
After Brette and Ty’s story was left unfinished in a previous book in the series – and wondering ever since what happened to them – it was so good to have them as the main characters in this book. And their story was well worth the wait. Such a beautiful story of two very broken people finding the courage, faith and self-worth to begin to live again. It was also a really fascinating (somewhat terrifying) insight into the world of storm chasing.
Awesome book
Great book and series. A must read for those who love Christian fiction!
What an uplifting tale of bravery to survive against the odds and the courage of grace to find love in unexpected times and places. True love does cast out fear and grace provides the strength to forge our destiny. I love the way Warren writes her love stories around ribbons of faith and truth. I also love her real lifelike characters and the way Warren’s stories leave me encouraged and entertained.
Reading Ty and Brette’s story was awesome. Was introduced to them in a previous book but to read “the rest of the story” was great. When a twister turns the town into shambles, the PEAK team comes to help find the high school track team, a teacher, and a sister. Ty does not feel he has had the best of luck when it comes to rescues. His gut has taken him into what the team leader feels was wild goose chases. Brette has come back into Ty’s life when the stormchaser team that Brette is photographing with ends up in the same house. Brette has instincts of her own. Both floundering on what they really want to do and should be doing. Trust is everything and Ty needs to prove that Brette can trust him. Brette is hiding a few secrets but one secret that cannot hide from each other is how much they care about each other. Loved this Christian romance story and cannot wait to read Montana Rescue #6.
Confession: I’ve had a soft spot for Ty since I first met him, so I had great expectations for this book, which can be dangerous. Based on my 5 stars review you can guess it was a success!
What I compleeetly adore about this series is that it’s very character driven. Susan May Warren takes her time digging into each character’s personality, story, fear, and dreams. And I like that we get to follow side stories in addition to the main one. The romance is usually a bit cheesy for my taste, but her stories have such depth that I never have problem to dive in.
Ty Remington continued to tug at my heart with his kindness and wisdom throughout this book. Characteristics very well stamped upon Brett Arnold’s mind and heart. A year and a half ago, they had formed an undeniable connection which promised more, but, when Brett found out the road she would have to go through, she ran away from the man who never hesitates to offer his entire self to help others because she knew how excruciating that road would be. So she didn’t give him the chance to chose and escaped from his life without a word, though what weighed her decision the most was fear. That blinding, gutwrenching fear that threatens to blacken our world, only promises despair and makes no room for hope.
When Ty and Brett’s path cross once again, Ty sees a remnant of the vivacious woman he met over a year ago; what is left is a woman burdened by a painful load with roots beyond circumstances, but a true matter of the heart. This time, though, he’s not willing to let her run away without him having a say in the matter. She might only offer her friendship or nothing at all, still, Ty knows he needs to point to her the path of hope, of endless joy and strength to overcome any situation.
The storms inside will be more scary and suffocating than the tornadoes circling the area; however to not hold on to belief and to not have faith will only lead to an outcome with more than crumbled buildings, but to a lifeless, parched spirit, desperate for refreshment. There’s a pull and push war waging within between living a sheltered life and one where you take a chance on hope, on believing in a good outcome, on opening your heart. There’s always a chance you’ll get hurt, but the One who truly puts us together is never failing, ever present and sees us through.
And oh the sweetness to walk in grace, and not fear. Love, not pride or self-sufficiency.
Excellent book edge of your seat
Storm Front – personal – What do I mean by that? I mean Ms. Warren has made these characters very personal to the readers and she does that right from the get go – actually she did that from book one in the series but this book like all the others stand alone. The author brings them to life with such an adventurous story line mixed with suspense and romance and most of all Faith. You just can’t go wrong with that can you? I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all of the opinions in the review are all my own.

Some books are harder to rate than others are. The only difficulty I had rating Storm Front is that there aren’t more stars to give it.
My emotions ran amok as I read. I smiled. I sighed. I started. I shuddered. I sobbed. I swooned. (Okay, I didn’t really sob, but I couldn’t come up with a word meaning got teary-eyed that starts with an “S”.) This compelling book by author Susan May Warren was such a satisfactory story.
I am not an adrenaline junkie, nor do I have even an inkling of what causes people to do the crazy kinds of things they do, such a chasing storms. No, thank you! I like being in control and safe. However, I get it now, at least a little, what drives people to seek out tornadoes. I had no idea that part of the point is that human eyes and instinct are really necessary to predict where they will hit to issue warnings. Hmm.
Brette broke my heart. The fear that controlled her life and the absence of hope were so sad to behold. The way she felt she needed to keep her pain and cancer away from all her friends so they wouldn’t feel compelled to help her. Yeah, she made me almost cry. I wanted so badly to reach through the pages so I could hug her!
The road Ty traveled, from despondency and guilt to purpose and hope was so beautiful. I love the fact that he never really let go of his faith, and how he was able to express so wonderfully what he believes and why. His heart for those who are lost is the kind of heart I want!
“That’s what love does – it goes into the storm to rescue, or protect, or just to stick around and share in the suffering.”
I loved the way that the “Christian” aspects of this book flowed from it so naturally. Though the characters in the story struggled with faith through the dark times they experienced, God’s faithfulness shone through loud and clear.
“At first, I was so afraid. Filled with dread.” Lottie said quietly. “Except, dread is produced by the fear of going through something alone…and I wasn’t alone. God doesn’t promise to keep the storm away, but he says he’ll be with me through it. My faith won’t protect me from the loss, but it will carry me and keep me from despair.”
This story has many characters from previous books in the Montana Rescue series, and it is obvious that though the story can stand alone, that it is designed for you to read each of the books in order.

I would like to thank Netgalley, Revell for giving me this item. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
Goodness! What an action-packed addition to the Montana Rescue series! I simply love the way these characters feel like family to me as I read. I have really enjoyed the fact that this series is a nice, long one and that it is also connected to the Montana Fire series, which I love. I highly recommend both of these series of books, and of reading the books in order.
Ty was really a stand up guy in Storm Front. I felt for him and for the insecurities and guilt that he had been carrying around. I absolutely loved the way he felt about Brette and the way he made sure she understood that she was important to him, no matter what she had been through or what she might have to go through.
I sometimes felt frustrated with Brette’s actions, however, they were understandable based on things that had happened in her past. I enjoyed seeing her grow and develop faith in God, trust in Ty, and seeing her gain hope for the future.
I am anxiously awaiting the final book in the series and know that this entire series is one I will enjoy re-reading. I have already read the connected Montana Fire series twice!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
A little slow moving. It took me a while to get into it.
Great series!!
So, I woke up this morning and am still debating how to convey how much I loved this book (after finishing it at 2 a.m.). To say I was wrapped up in the story is such an understatement.
Storm Front was filled with true-to-life characters and I loved growing to know each of them more. It was also a parable of life in a storm-filled world where we are all trying our best to find our way and to grow in Him as he molds us through life’s trials.
Just as I took a breath and sighed at the beauty of the resolution for Ty, Brette, Ben and Kacey (at least in this particular storm), we are left with a shocking cliffhanger which leaves me once again anticipating the adrenaline flowing as we return to the story of Pete and Jess and all the others in “Wait For Me.”
I couldn’t put it down! Definitely a page turner! Now I can’t wait until the next one is released!

As always, Susan May Warren didn’t disappoint. This story focuses on Ty and Brette. Brette disappears from Ty’s life and he never found out. Now that they meet up again Ty means to find out. Ty is still struggling with the issues that led up to him crashing the helicopter and left him with busted knees and his mentors injuries. Ty also has to control issues. Brette doesn’t want anyone controlling her life. She is doing just fine on her own. All of this is taking place while they are searching for Chet and several teenagers missing from a massive tornado that went through town.
I loved this book and recommend it to everyone. Anxious to read Pete’s story next.
I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Susan May Warren has done it again! Readers are thrust into the danger and action right along with the PEAK Rescue Team.
This time, a tornado draws the team together in a search for one of their own in a small Minnesota town. But the storm isn’t the only wreckage the team is dealing with. Ben King and Kacey Fairing are facing some turbulence of their own. And Ty Remington isn’t expecting to cross paths with the woman who walked, no ran, away from him more than a year ago.
Throughout the Montana Rescue series, Ty has been a stable and commanding presence but it’s been obvious the man is also haunted. Discovering the rest of his story reveals the depth of Ty’s pain while Brette’s more recent struggles (and Ty’s reactions to them) enforced my initial impressions of the Ty—a good man with wounds that hold him captive.
Warren’s ability to weave drama and danger with romance while expressing the individuality of these team members is top-notch as always, keeping readers involved and invested in the story.
With an ending that will leave you chomping for the next book (everyone raise your hand if you’ve been rooting for Pete and Jess to finally get it together), Storm Front delivers every single thing we expect from a Susan May Warren read. Adventure, romance, and danger. But most of all, a sense of family and the foundation of faith.

Storm Front – Susan May Warren
This is book five in the Montana Rescue series and I couldn’t have been more excited to read this book. I love all of Susan’s books and count down the days until a new one comes out.
This story follows Ty Remington and Brette Arnold. Brette is a blogger who has been chasing tornados for a summer in the Midwest when a tornado ravages a town and some kids go missing, along with Chet King who was Ty’s mentor. PEAK rescue heads in to help with the searching and that puts Ty and Brette back together. Brette didn’t want to fall for him and pushed him away a year ago but she needs him more than she thinks she does. Ty needs to come to grip with some demons in his past and needs to show Brette she can trust him.
I love this series (well all series by Warren) but I just love the style she writes. The multiple characters that are all intertwined in the whole storyline but each book focuses on a particular set of them. There is one more book to this series that comes out later this year and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
** I received a free copy of the book to read for an unbiased review from Netgalley**
