In this powerful entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series, Mercy Thompson must face a deadly enemy to defend all she loves… few months ago, I hadn’t stood upon a bridge and taken responsibility for the safety of the citizens who lived in our territory. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. It should have only involved hunting down killer goblins, zombie goats, and an occasional troll. Instead, our home was viewed as neutral ground, a place where humans would feel safe to come and treat with the fae.
The reality is that nothing and no one is safe. As generals and politicians face off with the Gray Lords of the fae, a storm is coming and her name is Death.
But we are pack, and we have given our word.
We will die to keep it.

Another excellent addition to the Mercy Thompson series. I fall more in love with Adam with each book. It’s also pretty nice to see Mercy show some actual power in this series.
I’ve been rereading this whole series – which I LOVE!! The intricacies of Mercy’s world are wonderful and detailed.
This is my first book by Patricia and I am intrigued and loved this book. Looking forward to more books by Patricia. The narration was amazing.
is this patricia briggs’ mercy thompson? yes. buy it; read it! when i see pat briggs as the author, i immediately buy the book.
Audiobook review: Storm Cursed is an interesting story in the Mercy Thompson universe. The storyline is interesting and entertaining but lacked the normal complexity that I’ve grown to enjoy in this series. A few more twists and turns would have been beneficial since it felt rushed. Love the characters. Ms. King did a fantastic job narrating!
I love how eleven books into this series and it is still delivering and continuing to get better and better. This one is a contender for my very favorite of the series. I loved seeing Mercy back in action and just kicking ass and taking names. I also still love Adam forever and ever. And I loved how this combined so many of the aspects I love about this series all into one. Also SO MUCH ZEE AND TAD!!! Just all around excellent.
MIniature Zombie Goats???? Who thinks of these things? Well, Patricia does, lol. As always, superb writing skills, amazing story and crazy situations (well this is mercy) Poor Elizaveta,,, that made me sad
I enjoyed this instalment in the Mercy Thompson series. It has lots of action, suspense and intrigue, and I enjoyed seeing Zee, Tad and Wolfe again, but Mercy did not seen as quick or as bright in this book as in the previous stories. The witches were intriguing, the revelations about Sherman were fascinating and the narration fit the characters well, but the book felt a bit rushed and some sections seemed incomplete and out of character. I would have like to hear a bit more about the government negotiations with the Grey Lords and to have seen a more decisiveness and reaction from Mercy. Despite this, it was still a fun entertaining read and I will look forward to the next in the series.
STORM CURSED by Patricia Briggs is the eleventh book in the Mercy Thompson urban fantasy series. This is one of my favorite series and this novel did not let me down. Mercedes Thompson Hauptman is a car mechanic, a coyote shapeshifter and the mater of the Alpha of the Columbia Basin werewolf pack. In this novel their area of Washington is viewed as neutral ground for talks between the U.S. Government and the fae. However, there are those that want to disrupt the process.
Mercy is a strong protagonist and brings interesting twists to these stories as magic tends to affect her differently. The characters were compelling and definitely someone you can root for with believable motivations and appropriate emotions. The internal and external conflicts were well defined and the stakes were high.
The prose is compulsively readable, dark, twisty, and entertaining. The plot is suspenseful, complex, dark, and fast-paced. The ending was action-packed. There are some dark themes running through this novel, but there is also an occasional bit of humor as well as family bonds.
Overall, this was a vivid, riveting, fabulous read. If you like action-packed urban fantasies, then this may appeal to you, too. I would recommend starting with the first book in the series.
Mercy Thompson Hauptman is an auto mechanic and a coyote shifter. She’s also the mate to Adam, the Alpha of the Columbia Basin werewolves. Ever since she declared the tri-city area as the pack’s territory and under their protection, they’ve had to deal with several issues. Now they have zombies showing up everywhere and Mercy can tell that black witches are involved. When the pack goes to the home of Elizaveta, their pack’s witch, they’re in for some shocking news. Elizaveta’s entire family is dead and they have been practicing black magic while hiding it from the pack. The new witches in the area want Elizaveta to join them and they’re after one of the werewolves. When Adam and a senator are kidnapped by the black witches, it’s up to Mercy and a few friends to rescue them and kill the zombies. And she has to do it without the pack because one of the witches can control the wolves.
I love this series and this book is no exception. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. The book’s well-written with engaging characters, both those you like and the ones you don’t. I’m eager for the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
I would love to go back and review all of the Mercy books! I LOVE them. Storm Cursed was easily in the top but they are all so good it is hard to say. I just re read them all in preparation for Smoke Bitten and they were just as amazing the second time. Thanks to Patricia Briggs for creating such a great world, one that feels like I could visit.
Patricia Briggs is always on my “MUST BUY” list.
My only complaint is the Mercy books are too short.
I love Patricia Briggs! Her characters are so interesting and dynamic!
Patricia Briggs is an automatic buy for me. Especially the Mercedes Thompson series.
This book is almost all Mercy. She is overwhelmed with witch troubles, zombie issues, protection troubles, oh just about anything that can go wrong troubles. Adam is barely there, but we get time with Zee, Stephen, Wulf, and some other very cool characters. I enjoyed the time with these characters and what we learned here, very, very interesting.
I LOVE this series!
I love Patricia Briggs novels. They are always well written and entertaining!
Another great offering from one of my favorite authors.
What can I say? Another great Mercy Thompson book. I love Mercy and her band of hooligans and misfits and at this point, I am going to enjoy pretty much anything Briggs writes. Every book offers more and more opportunities for Briggs to expand on the Tri-Cities supernatural, paranormal world building. I love when new characters get introduced or are featured. It just makes the story bigger and better.
