I received an ARC of this amazing story, WOW!! I was captured and sent on an amazing journey of LOVE. Reading Kya, the Bloodstone Dragon and Armstrong Knight rollercoaster love story put me through so many emotions. Kya is sent to learn from humans, to find an honorable one if any existed to learn from them. Unwillingly she agrees and to her surprise she finds one that exceeds her expectations and captivates her very soul. Armstrong is a strong determined man who will stand up and help another even if it may cost him his dream job at being part of the Secret Service. I love that Armstrong doesn’t let anything stop him from going after his dragon. The banter and sexual tension between Kya and Armstrong is undeniable and cute. I felt every longing, desire, need, pain, trust and sadness as they felt it. I found the story behind the Dracontias fascinating, especially how their names came from the magical stones in their skull. I was swept away by Kya as much as Armstrong was, and felt his draw and desire for her as I read. I loved that their love was able to overcome unimaginable obsticles. Their love is unattainable but so so real, their connection and banter only reeled me in further. I could not put the book down once I started reading. I cried, laughed, scolded and cheared with them. I fell in love with the world that N.D.Jones brought to life in this book and can’t wait to find out if there is more to them. I loved the connection and love the Dracontias live by and their sweet caring nature. Most of all I loved that once they find their mate, its for life. This book has it all…fantacy, magic, dragons, betrayal, redemption, life, determination, strength, horror, wisdom, pain, fear, torture and eternal love. Ever emotion imaginable is felt while reading this book. If I could give it more than a five star I would. I do hope there will be more of them and their world. WOW!
I have found one of my new favorite authors. This book was incredible.
Especially for a standalone, so much happened in the story that by the time you finish reading, you feel like you’ve concluded an entire series.
Kya is a fantastic female character. She is strong, feisty, and emotionally unavailable. I absolutely love female characters like this. Granted, she’s a dragon, but still.
The other part about this book that makes it so unique is that her love interest, Armstrong, is also strong willed and every bit as feisty. Oftentimes, we see one strong character while the other is demure. But these two make for a wild ride.
The story covers a lot of ground, and at times does feel a little rushed. My only real wish is that this book really did take up an entire series. I would love to sit down and delve into the extensive character development even further. And really get into this world. I could see this book easily filling five or six books in a series.
Even so, it is extremely well done, and the writing is phenomenal. I will definitely be reading every single book this author puts out in any genre.
What a great story! I really enjoyed the world building and the characters. A new take on dragons that I haven’t seen before and an ending to die for! 😉 This is my first story by this Author and I can’t wait to see what is in store next!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
