Once upon a time, there lived a witch. A kickass, brilliant, dope as hell witch whose magicks inspired fear and envy. Like all classic fairy tales, her story had the usual goodies.Destiny.Adventure.Missing souls.Unfathomable evil, the precarious fate of the entire universe, blah, blah, blah. But let’s get back to that witch with the awesome hair… hair…
Fine, it’s me. I’m the all-powerful witch. And, okay, maybe my story isn’t a classic fairy tale. Not unless I missed the part about Little Red delivering comic books and munchies in her basket and Beauty sleeping off two-for-one margarita night. But I do have a soul mate—my very own Charming.
Except he’s no prince. He’s a level-headed, by the book, insanely sexy detective.
And me?
Well, I’m Stoned.
Warning: Not recommended for readers under the age of 18 thanks to a dirty talking hero, a filthy-minded heroine, and the hot magicks they create. This story starts where Styx leaves off, so although it is a new couple, it is HIGHLY(pun totally intended) recommended they be read in order.

So this is the Second book in this series. If you haven’t read Styx I absolutely suggest you do….
Layla Frost you lady know how to have us paranormal/ fantasy readers glued.
You captured my attention with Nate and Denny so i was Dying to see where this book goes next.
Lady you did not fucking disappoint at all. This story was just as addictive and Entertaining. Stellan and Juno his Pixie had my attention.
They started of with such a bang and Stellan had an immediate pull towards Juno though he couldn’t explain it. Now Juno knew that he was her Other half, Her Soul Mate but she couldn’t do much cos our hero was a jerk. Till he wasn’t…
The rest was hot and swoony. Plenty LMFAO moments and scenes esp Lea and Beths that will break your heart.
Levi was the Usual Hot Devil you wanna Fuck, I can’t wait for his book. …
Another 5 Star read By the very talented Layla Frost…
Enjoy!!!!
Ugh just like the first book I am again completely blown away. I’m so glad I stumbled apon this series. This book had it all. I laughed, cried, and swooned throughout the entire book. I can not wait for the next two to come out. I already have theories on who I think the next brother is. Again just a really awesome series.
I just can’t say enough how much I enjoy Layla’s writing and attention to story and detail! Juno was hilarious and my favorite kind of heroine to read about. Funny and strong and sassy and able to take care of herself. Stellan was just the right type of OTT alpha! Possessive and growley but also willing to suspend what he knows and learn to adapt in order to be with Juno. The overall plot story and slowly revealed backstory that runs throughout this series has my attention like most series I read don’t. I’m completely invested in the outcome and I’m desperately awaiting the next couple and the next brother!!!

So of course before I start my review I have to say thank you to Layla Frost. I know not everyone gets the chance to receive an ARC, so I am always so grateful that me and my blog got one. And though I’m late I still consider you one of my fave authors and you’re still very dope! Thanks again love!
I was supposed to have this Stoned review done forever ago, but I took my time with it because I felt like Juno and Stellan deserved more than just a one off review from me. I went back and read their story again to grasp their essence and gather my overall thoughts, and I think I may have what I need to do their story justice with my words. Hopefully Layla won’t hate me for being the worst blogger, but I do hope she likes my review like I always love her storytelling.
Now, on to the good stuff …
Continuing the shenanigans from Styx, because hello cliffhanger, you learn that Juno is the second member of the Four Horsemen and sister to Nate aka Thanatos. She is struggling to get all of her memories back because she was just an only child and now she has siblings. She’s gone from the world’s most powerful witch to part of the original Apocalypse. On top of that, someone has broken into her stores and destroyed EVERYTHING, her struggle is real. Now there are cops everywhere, she is high and one cop is giving her butterflies like she has never experienced in her long life. Whatever will she do?
Stellan Reddick is a straight-laced cop who will follow the rules by all means necessary. So when he gets a call about a robbery, he is there to make sure everything is taken care of by the book. Little did he know the store owner would draw his attention more than he cares to admit. Not only is she attractive, she’s a distraction he can’t afford in his line of business. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t seem to fight this gut feeling and unbeknownst pull to the multi-color, high out of her mind pixie-looking woman. So what does he do when rules are meant to be followed, but every ounce of his being is telling him to break them for his pixie? I guess we will find out.
Okay, so either I watch too much television or I am spot on, but Stoned reminded me a little bit of the tv show Lucifer. Not sure if anyone has ever seen that show, but I binge watched it on Netflix and when I start reading Stoned I noticed some similarities between the book characters and the tv show characters. Like Levi being the laid back devil in the book and same with the Lucifer on the show. There was also a scene in the book where Stellan’s partner, Danes, was explaining how Stellan was able to see the man trying to kill Juno in the alley I believe, before said man died himself. It was kind of like Stellan slowed down time because he was able to describe how he looked, down to his emotionless expression. And this reminded me of the show Lucifer because of Lucifer’s brother Amenadiel. Amenadiel had the ability to slow time and fix issues before they get out of control, which Stellan does being that he’s a cop. Amenadiel also played the calm to Lucifer’s storm, which in Juno’s case is quite the literal sense, being that she is actual War.
I loved the instant chemistry between Juno and Stellan because the more they fought it, the stronger it seemed to grow. But I guess when you’re born to be soulmates, the dynamic is supposed to be intense. And though Stellan had no clue what was going on and why he was so tied to Juno, he knew without a shadow of a doubt he would lay down his life for her. I mean I don’t know about you all, but that sounds like the kind of guy any girl could use in her life. They were both willing to give up their lives to make sure the other was protected. When times got tough they did not care about sacrificing themselves if it meant their soul mate got to live. Like when Stellan went to Levi to give up the powers for Juno or when Juno was willing to lose her powers altogether for Stellan and just live a normal life. When I read all of that, I dramatically grabbed my chest because this was real life movie worthy type of material. Layla is always able to grasp such beautiful moments and make them so vivid when her characters are going through such raw emotions. It’s beautiful to read and never gets old, that’s what makes me want to go back and read her books again and again.
Another part of Juno I appreciated was her badass-ness and her overall personality. A lot of heroine’s are written as uptight, spoiled and bitchy for whatever reasons and I love that Layla keeps her heroines as laid back, chill but strong-willed. She didn’t take shit, but was so much fun to be around. She wasn’t too tough to not be vulnerable, but just tough enough to whoop some evil ass. I loved everything about Juno’s character, now I just can’t wait to have her back because again, hello cliffhanger!!!
Overall, Stoned is fan-frickin-tastic!!! Sexy, funny, sad but alluring all the same. It draws you in and keeps you glued to each and every page from beginning to end, like Layla’s books usually do. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for the rest of the Four Horsemen because this epic epilogue is taking forever and it’s making me anxious. Now my suggestion would be to grab yourself a copy of Stoned if you haven’t had a chance and do it NOW!!! You will not regret this decision.

Just finished at 1am and it was FANFREAKINGTASTIC!!! The kind of book that leaves you smiling like a loon and grateful you found her words.
This series of stories are some of the most original I have EVER read. Magicks, Mayhem and Men that make your panties go poof! Gone! Cannot recommend them enough.
Juno & Stellan are what I love about smart romance writing. Strong heroine, hilarious dialogue, chemistry to melt your kindle and just the right dash of sweet!
Trust me when I say you NEED this book!!
HOLY DONUTS SHE’S DONE IT AGAIN!
I am in LOVE with this amazing story. I wish they were real so I could hang out with them!!!
I’ve been waiting for Stoned since I finished Styx by this author and let me tell you – WORTH. THE. WAIT!!!
I laughed so hard I cried at some points. Juno is a trip and Stellan is PERFECT for her! This was the perfect PNR Romance and definitely one of my new favorites of this year so far!
I ABSOLUTELY recommend this awesome story!!!
Oh my gosh, I loved it. I am always a little worried when reading the second book in a series where I loved the first novel. I should not have even thought twice because this author never disappoints. I loved it. It was a paranormal/love story which I normally don’t read but I loved it. I loved the dialogue and banter. I literally was reading while waiting for my kids in a waiting room and laughed out loud that people were actually looking at me funny and I didn’t even care. I love a novel that can make you laugh out loud and leave you with a smile on your face and a happy heart. This novel did not disappoint. Can’t wait to see what this author writes next!
Ok I am completely addicted to this series, completely devoured this book. The mix of paranormal, romance and humour is great, the storyline is unique and is keeping me guessing the whole way. Love love loved Juno, she cracked me up and my oh my is stellan HOT! I cannot wait for the next book, I need to know what happens next!!!!
Book 2 in the series and Layla Frost did not disappoint! (let’s be honest, she never does!)
Juno from book 1 comes back to take a starring role. When you have characters that are War and Death you might think you’re in for an angsty dark read… this is not that book! Juno finds the one she’s been destined to meet and we get to be along for the hilarious ride as the attraction is fought and destruction rains. Stellan is a strong alpha male that is paired with a feisty Juno creating a combo of characters that is combustible. If you like a little chaos, a little romance, and mention of Salem witch trials mixed in with awesome characters then this should be your next read.
5 ‘ Their Reward’ Stars
O.M.F.G!!! Just when I thought the first book, Styx, couldn’t be matched in its awesomeness, here comes Ms. Frost raising up the stakes with Stoned! This dirty minded pixie and her filthy mouthed detective will ROCK YOUR WORLD!
Again I’ll keep this review as non spoilerish as possible, because this series is all about the RIDE.
We met Juno, our now leading lady – she would so snort at being called that, btw – in the previous book, and could already anticipate just how rich and colorful her character was going to be. Well, she was all I was expecting and MORE!
Unless she’d broken her halo to form her horns, Juno was no angel. She was a temptress. A siren, luring me in.
And it was working. I’d take a naughty pixie over an angel any day.
Stellan, handsome and broody Alpha was the detective in charge of Juno’s case, but even if he wasn’t, there was no way he could stay away, when something beyond them was pushing him in the direction of the crazy, wild, comic book store owner.
I’d joke that it was a gift from the gods, but that wasn’t a joke. He was literally my gift from the gods.
This story truly was outstanding, from the hilarious, LMAO moments, to the suspense and insane chemistry and connection between the main couples, I was glued, and begging for more, actually, still craving, even more and more stories from this crazy addictive universe.
One date, and I was obsessed.
I’d chase. I’d beg. She just had to tell me the rules, and I’d play her game as long as winning meant I got her.
Juno and Stellan even though apparently completely opposites to one another, couldn’t have been better paired up, Fate really has a way. There was no doubt in my mind they could be anything other than true soulmates. He was the calm to her storm, and the rational and pragmatic to her crazy, two perfect halves of a whole, and I ADORED every single one of their interactions.
But they gave us beauty.
Our reward.
Layla Frost truly has an unmeasurable creative and writing talent. The way this universe was created, the complex and particular characters, the quirkiness and uncontrollable ROFL lines and scenes, and the organic feeling chemistry, transform this PNR romance in a love and suspense combo story, just as addictive as Juno’s special gummy bears and cotton candy – that I was craving while reading, btw. Seriously, besides begging for Levi’s story, I’ll be here stalking and counting down the days for the rest of The Four! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
“I love you, Juno,” he grunted, his thrusts growing more frenzied. “Not because you’re my mate or any of that shit. But because you’re my filthy-minded and dirty-mouthed pixie.”
“As long as I’m still breathing, and probably after, I’ll want you. Never doubt that.”
ARC kindly provided by the author for an honest review
All I can say is I freaking adored this book! Such great writing that intertwines hilarity and emotions while creating a world that the reader wants to become a part of. A new twist on how one perceived Heaven and Hell and let’s just say I would “Go to Hell” anytime after reading this story!
Omg! Wow…where do I start. Having been a huge fan of this author when I knew she was going the PNR route I was excited and a little nervous. So when Styx came out I had no idea what to expect. Then I read it and was like omg I need the next one!!!
Now after what feels like forever when in reality it wasn’t, lol Ms Frost gives us Stoned. Oh boy. We met Juno previously and knew she was fun and wacky. She’s all that and more. Stellan is very well suited for her and I loved the dynamic with this book. It had everything…drama, intrigue and love. What more could you ask for, oh just some more anticipation that’s all. Lol. The humour in here made look rather stupid as I was in a hospital waiting room reading this. I got some strange looks. But I had the last laugh cause this is one fantastic book and they probably won’t read anything this good. I cannot wait for the next one. Highly recommend this book and series.
Rating: 4.5 “Eggplants for dinner” Stars
Holy. Freaking. Cow.
After Styx completely blew me away, I was both super excited and trying to keep my expectations in check before starting Stoned. I really shouldn’t have bothered because it was so, so good!
I won’t go into specifics of the story because just as with the previous book, there’s a lot of mystery and suspense going on (although we’re not as blind as with that one) and I don’t want to spoil the surprises for anyone.
Nate, the hero in Styx, was a tough act to follow and considering Juno is the absolute shit, Stellan had a lot to prove. And prove himself he did. He was bossy, possessive, protective and incredibly sexy. He could dirty talk like a GOD and he had so many moves! I can’t even… you need to read this.
“I’m gonna spend so long memorizing the feel of you around my dick, you’ll forget what your pussy feels like without me in it!
Having met Juno in the first book, I already loved her sassy, quirky, weird AF cocky butt. She was a hoot, had a flaming temper and the bloodthirstiness to carry it out.
“You’re drooling.”
“Yup,” I agreed without shame. “I’m going to have to carry around a wet floor sign.”
“For the drool?” she asked.
“Yeah, sure. Let’s go with that.”
As the encompassing arch of the story unfurls, Juno and Stellan need to bond as a couple. Unsurprisingly, their chemistry is absolutely off the charts amazing, their connection zings and their time together molten-lava level of hot. I loved that we get some glimpses of Nate and Denny togethering and that we get to spend more time with Levi. That is one devil I want to get to know much better.
With intrigue, suspense and some action, Stoned had me cursing work as I was forced to put it down. I did feel the end was a little bit abrupt, as not to say I felt I was slammed headfirst into a concrete wall after falling from an airplane, but I do understand that the story needs the next installment to continue. That said, that Epilogue on the last book better be like… the most epic epilogue in the history of the written word.
I need the next book now!!
