First, hate. Then, want. But in the end? Heartbreak. My celebrity life was supposed to be easy, and this movie was the biggest break of my career. But from the moment Officer Levi Fox gave me a speeding ticket on my way into town, he’s been nothing but a thorn in my side.Dominant. Cocky. Callous. Midnight blue eyes, a bad attitude, and muscles for days, he’s exactly the kind of man I should avoid. he’s exactly the kind of man I should avoid.
But as the Cold, Montana Police Department’s official movie liaison, he’s taken up a permanent place in my life that I can’t shake.
We fight. A lot.
Then, we kiss—and my carefully crafted hate toward him no longer feels so much like hate.
I’m falling
falling
falling.
But how often do alpha-jerks cushion the landing?
Note: Levi and Ivy’s story will continue in Book Two—Cold.

Okay so I am a huge Max Monroe fan! This book was different than their usual work. When I read their books I expect humor and inappropriateness and this book was not that. I thought they did a great job in different territory for them! I am a fan of Ivy’s she is dedicated to her work. She adamant on doing research to do the role justice. It was really hard to like Levi. He was such a jerk so often! I understand he has issues to work out but that doesn’t make it okay. I am ready for more story. I am curious of where does it go from here. Ready for the next book! Well done Max Monroe, thanks for another great story.

Stop what you’re doing and go buy Stone by Max Monroe right now! I’m completely serious. This is angsty and full of feels. You want this book. And it’s only $0.99 so you don’t have much to lose. It’s worth every single penny, guys. I promise.
5 Holy Fox Stars
If you want fluffy and fun, just turn back now. This is not fluffy, there isn’t much humor. However, you will find angst and hate and lust and pain. You’ll find confusion and hurt. You’ll FEEL when you read this book.
And you won’t be able to put it down.
I sat down to read it and never stopped.
Max Monroe just gave me an enemies-to-enemies story that I was never expecting.
Levi Fox is dark, broody, mysterious, closed-off, and ALL ALPHA.
Ivy Stone is sassy, strong, smart, and ALL WOMAN.
These two should have sparks flying. Visible sparks. Instead you see flames. The burning flames of hate and lust and desire and confusion all twisted up between these two. It’s palpable.
The FEELS aren’t ending with these two. And just when you think it’s all coming together, you receive another giant curve ball.
I can’t wait to see what happens with Levi and Ivy in this series. I am impatiently waiting for Cold to hit my kindle. Honestly, if it wants to release early, I won’t complain. And I doubt anyone else would either
Holy moly . . . this Stone Cold Fox Trilogy may just break me . . .
In Stone we meet Levi and Ivy. And it’s insta-dislike on sight! I mean really, Levi gave Ivy a speeding ticket at their first meeting, was so hungover at their second that they had to reschedule and the broody bastard’s communication style is a series of grunts, shrugs and piercing gazes whenever Ivy’s around.
But lurking under that surly existence is a man trying to get through each day, trying to keep the memories locked away in the back of his mind. Things that are no longer easy to medicate away with a bottle of Jack. Especially when Ivy’s around.
And good lord, when Ivy and Levi are around each other the sparks fly and there’s no denying that something is going on between them, but what that is, is the question.
I’m dying for more in Cold because there’s so much left unsaid between Levi and Ivy. So much still to come for them and I cannot wait!
*5 Stars*

Wow. This book is something else. Its unlike anything that Max & Monroe have written before, and it was a really nice and refreshing change.
I was hooked instantly because of the subject matter and the way the book starts out. Crime mixed with romance and I was bound to enjoy this. This book has such a serious tone to it, and there are so many questions you ask along the way, that you just need to know whats going to happen, and what actually happened in the past as well.
I liked Ivy, and for the most part, I was not a fan of Levi and how he behaved. I want to understand what happened between he and Grace so badly. And although I understand that he’s dealing in his own way, some of the things that happen in this book, the way he behaves, are so damn uncalled for its not funny. Its cruel and harsh, and I really am keen to see how things play out in the next book.
I really want to know more about the crimes that were committed by the Cold-Hearted Killer, and I really want to learn more about Grace and Levi. Really about all of the town and the circumstances at the time of the crimes. What drove the guy to such crimes, and why was Grace targeted? I’m also keen to see how things play out with the movie and how it all comes together. Will it be true to the real life events?
Bring on Cold, can’t wait for that to come out!
I have been a huge fan of Max Monroe since Tapping The Billionaire. The team of duo writers seem to pull me into everything they write, because they just have a way with words, a way to make me feel things, that I truly enjoy feeling. Stone is SOOOOO different than any thing they have written but even though it is different, it is better. Not only is it different from anything they have ever written, it is so different than any thing I have ever read. I am sitting here with so many emotions coursing through my body. It was amazing and infuriating. There was so many twists and turns, and so many questions not answered because hello, not only are we lucky enough to get one book about Levi and Ivy we get three!! That’s right three. We get more time in each of their heads.
When I started this book, I had no idea what to expect. But as soon as the intro appeared, I knew this is one book, that was gonna keep me on the edge of my seat. I went from being on the edge of my seat, to laughing my a** off, from hilarious insults like, ” You look like a sack of warm shit.” From hilarious insults to fanning myself from the chemistry because it was so explosive. From fanning myself to wanting to smack two heads together because the slow burn was killing me. Stepping away from wanting to smack two heads together, to out right wrapping my hands around some throats for the stupidity, and from then ready to throw my kindle out the damn door. I could go on and on.
Look I know I am being vague but trust me, it’s for a reason. This is one book you want to go in blind. You don’t want spoilers. I promise you spoilers will ruin this book for you. Just know that this book is different, but an AMAZING different. Levi and Ivy deserve to tell their own stories. in their own words, the way they want to.
Max Monroe you out did yourself on this one. Like honest to goodness out did yourselves. I can not wait for the rest of Ivy and Levi’s story.
I recommend this book to people who need a change of scenery from the same books, the same tropes, yes it is a romance book, but there is so much more to this book than romance, it’s mysterious, and edgy.. You get the point. Just read this book people.. It is worth your time and attention.
DAYUM! Max Monroe took me on a helluva ride with Stone! I was so enraptured with these characters that I couldn’t get enough!!! I LOVE Ivy and Levi. Levi makes me feel all the range of emotions…the guy’s a Stone Cold Magician.
This book was a departure for a typical Max Monroe book and I must say that I HIGHLY approve and I need them to give me more books like this!!!!! I need all the stories. #GreedyReader
That ending though….emotional roller coaster much, Max Monroe?!
Hol-eeeeee crap. All the feels. My stomach is clenched. I need a paper bag to breathe into. I need the second book!!!!
4.5*
Stone, the first book in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy, is such a departure from your typical Max Monroe book and I loved it! When you’re used to an author writing in a certain style or genre it’s sometimes hard to switch gears when they “switch gears”, but no such worry with this book!
I was completely intrigued with Ivy and Levi’s story, right from the start- I had a hard time putting it down to go about my day. And I am so, so ready to have Cold in my hands.
Stone is emotional, suspenseful, angsty, unexpected, and completely captivating. From the Intro I knew this book was going to be nothing like any of the others I’ve read from this duo before, and it wasn’t. It was even better than I could have hoped or imagined.
When Hollywood takes over small town Cold, Montana, bringing star Ivy Stone into Officer Levi Fox’s orbit, he doesn’t know what’s hit him. Dredging up memories he still can’t come to terms with, Ivy and her movie are the last thing he wants to deal with. There’s nothing more he’d love than for them to pack up and get out of his town. But as the liaison for the police department, he’s stuck having his memories, and the guilt he’s hanging onto, brought up time and time again. As he and Ivy spend more and more time together, she burrows under his skin in a way he can’t shake, as much as he would love to. The chemistry between the two is explosive, and he’s not prepared for the feelings and emotions she brings out in him. It’s really more than either of them can handle.
Since this is a trilogy I’m not giving anything away by saying Stone ends on a cliffhanger. And what a cliffy it is! Ivy and Levi have shared some very intense and very passionate encounters, and their last confrontation leaves them both reeling, wounded, and on edge. I cannot wait to see what Max Monroe has in store for these two in Cold.
Stone is an angsty, emotional romance. It’s the first of the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy, and it starts off the trilogy with a bang!
Levi Stone is a broody, broken man. He’s been assigned as a liaison to the new film that’s being shot in his town, Cold, Montana. It’s a film based partly on him, but also on his friend, Grace, and the horrible events that they were part of all those years ago. And it’s a film he wants nothing to do with. When Ivy, the actress playing Grace, rolls into town, the first thing he does is give her a speeding ticket that she tries to talk her way out of. Just another thing to make him hate her more than he already does. And it starts their relationship with a bang. Nothing is ever easy between these two, from their very first meeting to their very last meeting, when Levi does his level best to break Ivy the way he’s broken. And God did I want to smack this man the way Ivy did! But I wanted to hug him, too, because it’s obvious he’s got problems that he’s never dealt with and Ivy is the unfortunate recipient of his issues being brought to bear.
I’ll say this – Levi and Ivy make an amazingly passionate couple. They’re not one of those easy, warm couples that you want to be friends with, but there’s something about them that’s so heartfelt, so brutally passionate that I was rooting for them to make it til the last page. And now I have to wait until April to find out how Levi’s going to go about getting himself out of the mess he’s made for himself and Ivy. Can’t wait!
Stone is book one in the new Cold Fox Trilogy by Max Monroe and on the face of this series is very different from any other by the very talented writing duo, if this book is anything to go by they have yet another hit series on their hands. This book is told in both main characters POV and it’s a pretty quick read or it could be I was enjoying so much it just felt that way. This story was a lot more emotional than any other Max Monroe book and it had characters that are a lot deeper than any of their predecessors but it showed just how diverse this writing duo can be, it seems every word they write turns into yet another 5 Star read.
Levi is the moody, a little bit broken cop who has been ordered to be the liaison officer for a Hollywood movie being shot about the murders that happened in Cold. Ivy is the lead actress and she and the whole team have a job on their hands convening Levi that this film needs to be made and don’t believe everything you read about Hollywood Stars…….
This book has it all, it’s emotional, it has characters that are strong and have depth, its a journey that turns into a love story with just the right mix of angst and off course it has its witty moments because it wouldn’t be a Max Monroe book without some humour. Loved it, couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for book 2.
As a fan of Max Monroe’s books, I jumped at the chance to read an ARC of their latest release, Stone; book #1 in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy. Different than some of their other work, Stone is darker, more emotional and angstier but still just as good as what I’ve come to expect.
Just like their better known RomComs, Strong has a compelling story and characters that I was able to connect to (while simultaneously wanting to kick Levi in the a$$ to dislodge his head, which was stuck up there for most of the book). I’m a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers story and in this regard, the chemistry between Ivy and Levi was palpable but with some slow-burn, there’s plenty of delicious anticipation for readers.
I’m definitely chomping at the bit for the second book, Cold, to drop next month!
Stone is the first book in the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy by Max Monroe. This book is different from the regular ROM-COM Max Monroe stories. There are so many twists and turns in this heart stopping story that it will keep you enthralled. There is Levi who is a sweetheart. Then you have Officer Levi. He is HOT but has anger issues.
The characters are amazing, full of life, spit and vinegar, sexual tension, and then you get ….! Gotcha! LOL! Seriously this is a MUST READ, and I can’t wait for the release of “Cold” book 2 in this Trilogy. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book but I still bought the book. It was that good!
Max Monroe just released part one of a Romantic Suspense trilogy…and nailed it.
Ivy is a Hollywood starlet who just rolled into Cold, Montana for her latest movie role based on true events of the town. When she decides to drive in her usual LA style, she is quickly pulled over by brooding police officer Levi.
Levi is the only person in Cold who is dead set against the movie being filmed in his hometown. Having personal connections to the film’s storyline, he hates that the world will see Hollywood’s interpretation of his dear friend Grace, and even more, hates the Ivy, who will be portraying Grace.
Ivy and Levi are forced to spend more time together than either like, and soon hatred turns into a slow burn of wanting. Ivy has millions of questions that Levi is not willing to answer, leaving the question of what really happened in Cold a mystery.
Part two comes out in a few short weeks, and I’m itching like crazy to see what happens next!
I must start the review with a little disclaimer. I have fallen in love with the writing duo of Max Monroe from their first book. I fell in love with their ability to make me laugh out loud while falling in love with a book and it’s characters. But I have to say they have strayed from their norm to bring us Stone. And I must say – I am not disappointed in the least.
This book has a slow burn to it. A damaged man, Levi has to relive, via the Hollywood movie, of the life and death of his friend Grace. Levi has one hell of a chip on his shoulder and a steel grate surrounding his heart.
In comes, Ivy, the Hollywood star who’s been cast to play Grace. She comes into town and within just moments of getting there, she’s not on Levi’s good side. And as the days continue, Levi become more and more frustrated with her presence, but there is a definite, undeniable attraction neither want to admit at first.
“The attraction, it felt otherworldly. Like it came from somewhere deep inside my soul and I couldn’t deny it if I tried.”
As production continues and Levi is ordered consult on the film. As production continues, Levi and Ivy have a harder and harder time denying the attraction.
“Because I want to be numb…and with everyone else, I can. But not with you…you make me feel too much.”
This is a 3 part series, so there really isn’t an OMG CLIFFY…but their story is nowhere close to being done. This is just the beginning of one hell of a story, I can just feel it! I can’t wait to see where this goes. I need to see how this undeniable attraction and angsty relationship moves forward.
Holy cow! So excited about this surprise story from this awesome author. The first book in this trilogy is very angsty. Definitely an enemies to something story. Ivy comes to Montana to film a movie about a cop that was killed trying to take down a serial killer. Levi is a cop that was around when this serial killer struck and the cop that was killed was is friend. As soon as they meet ivy rubs Levi the wrong way even though she really didn’t do anything to make him feel this way. It was more about who she was and why she was in his town. I loved how this story has started and can’t wait for the next installment to see how the story continues. This isn’t your normal Max Monroe story but it is a fabulous story none the less. I would highly recommend this book to people.
Is there anything Max Monroe CAN’T do?!? Stone came out of nowhere and hit me right in the motherfluffing feels! No exaggeration needed, that’s the truth.
I was both surprised and not when it came to this book. Surprised just like everyone else that Max Monroe was releasing a brand-new series within DAYS of announcement, but also not because those two mischievous authors have been known to surprise us before.
Immediately, Stone separates itself from what we’ve read before from the authors. It’s intensely diversified storyline and contrasting characters creates an unparalleled new appreciation for the authors’ talent at storytelling.
The story starts at 100 and doesn’t slow one bit. Conflicting actions and emotions drive the story even higher, eliciting an even more powerful reaction from the reader. Levi and Ivy’s dynamic both together and separate is quite unique and challenging at the best of times. Forced to work together, you’d think they’d resolve whatever unknown differences they have with each other. But when it comes to the broody, enigmatic Levi, he wants nothing to do with Ivy. Secrets and unspoken feelings tear at their already unsteady relationship, proving that no matter how hot and fierce their chemistry may be, it won’t overcome the circumstances standing in their way.
I don’t give away spoilers, but I will say this: Levi and Ivy’s story does not end here. I’m beyond excited and impatient for book two, Cold. The angst, the emotions, and the unrelenting desire that continuously simmers just below the surface is enough to make anyone crave more!
5 Stars!
