Stone and Bowie have gone through so muck to find their way back to each other and their lives filled with Hope’s, dreams and a future. Their struggles are and it was great to follow along their journey to finally find peace and happiness.
Before Stone became one of the best mechanics in Willow Valley he was once a bad boy. Living his life for the next fight in the underground fighting ring, Stone became one of the best. He had the notoriety in the underground ring and the best kind of woman on his arm.
Bowie Blake is the daughter to one of the better fighters who made millions from his fighting. She’s a socialite who eventually made her way into reality television with her brother. But before all this, she was a bad girl enjoying her life with the love of her life..until tragedy struck and turned Bowie’s world upside down.
Now 10 years later Stone is living for the peace and quite that he gets living on the outskirts of Willow Valley and working under the hoods of the cars he repairs. However, things go from quit and calm to loud and out of control when Bowie walks back into his life asking for a favor to help save her brother’s life.
Stone agrees to help, but it’s all business. He’s already had the pleasure of having his heart broken by Bowie once and he won’t relive that kind of pain again. But once again the chemistry between these two won’t be denied, and once Stone sets his mind on something he wants he’s determined to win…not just the fight for revenge and Bowie’s brother’s life but the girl as well.
Stone isn’t like Dax and Hawk which I really enjoyed. While he (I’m sure) wasn’t celibate during the entire 10 years apart from Bowie, he wasn’t always going out of his way to find a woman like the other 2 bad boys were. I really found that I liked that Bowie, while she never excuses the reasons behind leaving Stone like she did, she also acknowledges that she wasn’t in the right state of mind to maintain a relationship and mourn and grieve her father’s death. So while her brother’s actions gave her the opportunity to end things with Stone, she knows that even if they would’ve stuck it out they might not have come out as strong as what they are starting out now.
4out of 5 stars
Stone is Dax’s best friend and mechanic at Dax’s autobody shop. He left his bad boy ways behind him. Leaving the underground fighting for a life he can be proud of . He is living the simple life with friends and a job he loves . Until a blast from his past blows back into his life and brings him back to the world he left behind . Bowie pulls him back into the life of underground fights and its not easy to go back to.
Stone and Bowie are characters that you want to love an hate at the same time . Stone is sexy and kind of dangerous in a way that will make you swoon . Bowie well she is one of those women who think they have it under control but when push comes to shove she needs help from the one man who has been there . She comes off tough but honestly she has a big chip on her shoulder when it comes to her family . They are a fun read and you will like them or hate them but they are fun loved them .
This is the second book in the series and I will say I actually liked this book a little more then the first book . The characters seem a little bit more complex and you will love to love them and you will hate them at the same time . The story flowed better also and you feel like you get to know them a little bit more . It could be that I am drawn to more of the underground fighting and what a man would do for the love that did get away from him . This is a book that you can read in an afternoon and yes there were a few spots where it kind of dragged but over all I truly enjoyed this book .
This is another fabulous book in the Bad Boy of Willow Valley, Shannyn Leah has brought a new bad boy that has his own demons to fight. When a person is betrayed by someone they love, anger or hate can come out in many forms. You can runaway from it but sooner or later is will come around again. The chemistry between Stone and Bowie surprised me a little as she came back into his life as after 10 years but they say love doesn’t die. It can surprise a person what love can do for two people. The Bad Boys of Willow Valley are worth a first, second and third read.
Bowie is a name and face that Stone would be happy to see or hear again. Of course that isn’t going to happen 10 years after betraying him and breaking his heart she needs his help.
Bowie’s brother has gotten himself in a jam should Stone help him? No but he will.
Fighting for love and life! I really loved this second chance romance. It hooked me from the first page and I couldn’t put it down!
I enjoyed reading Stone and Bowie’s story. It was a fast paced, easy read. This story made me laugh, cry and even aggravated me to a point. I found it hard to put down and was on the edge of my seat during the final fight between Walker and Stone.
I was apalled when I learned the real reason behind the beat down Stone recieved in the past from Walker in his goons. It sickened me to know Reed paid for it and the reason why he did it was selfish. It saddened me that Bowie knew the truth but didn’t tell Stone. Even though Stone learned about Reed paying and Bowie knowing. Stone was still able to work on their relationship and let down his walls. He didn’t let his friends or family step in to change his decision. He stood up for Bowie when it came to Dax.
Stone and Bowie had a messy past but had never fallen out of love with each other. They were able get their HEA.
.
We met Stone in the first book of this series which was about Dax his boss and I have to say I had no idea Stone had a past like this. 10 years ago Stone walked away from the women he thought he loved after she betrayed him and now she is back asking for his help and to do something he hadn’t done in ten years. Dax is not happy Bowie has turned up or asked for his help and while Hawk and Stone have tolerated each other as they work together an have known each other for years Stone is surprised Hawk is willing to help and his farther has decided to tag along also. Bowie’s life is extremely dysfunctional and while she tries to look after everyone else and do everything with anyone but her in mind she know realises how much she missed out on by pushing Stone away. We see them both go through the struggle of seeing each other again, fighting the attraction that never really went away and hoping that Walker wont get in their way once they finally work out they are meant to be together. Get ready for plenty of stress, suspense, secrets exposed, sexual tension and some laughs that keeps you turning the page to see what happens next.
Emotionally thrilling roller-coaster of a romantic journey that will leave you breathless and wanting more…. This is a second chance romance with a kick in the heart. Love, hate, betrayal, loss, blind loyalties and passion fill this wild adventure between two souls looking to survive. Highly entertaining reading.
In “Stone” Ms. Leah delivers another wonderful second chance story. Deeply emotional, both heartwarming and heartbreaking, with great and developed characters and a plot with so many twists and turns that kept me rooted to my sofa. As with all Ms. Leah’s books, the story focuses not only on the main characters’ road to happily ever after, but exploring their relationships with family and friends as well.
I loved all the Willow Valley stories so far and this is no exception. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
“Don’t come to lick my wounds. Mine are deeper than flesh and beyond repair.”
When it took you years to mend a broken heart and put aside any feelings and the woman that crushed you comes back what will you do……
Stone Patino is an ex underground boxer that loves his cars and working as a mechanic at his best friend’s shop. He doesn’t have time nor care for any relationships; not even meaningless one night stands. He loved, got beaten to death, got screwed and somehow got over it.
Bowie Blake is rich, famous and beautiful but behind her persona, she dreams of a simpler life, painting and she always carried around the weight of the guilt and pain of leaving the love of her life behind.
When Bowie shows up and asks Stone for help it doesn’t go that well at first. Will he be able to turn his back to her or will he help her?
A story about strong friendship, the uneasy family ties, hurtful actions, sorrow, broken hearts as well as tough love, compassion and forgiveness; that book holds it all !
Stone and Bowie sizzle!
This is the second book in the series Bad Boys of Willow Valley. You don’t need to read the first book as you gain sufficient background to get you up to the point this book starts. The writer draws you in from the first chapter and keeps you entertained and looking for the next twist throughout. Stone and Bowie’s chemistry is hot! While I love their banter causing me to snicker in just the right places of the plot. This book is a mix of sexual tension, secrets and suspense, and surprises and laughter.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Stone is the second book in the Bad Boys of Willow Valley series. Stone Patino and Bowie Blake have a past together. When they come face to face years later they have to forgive one another and build trust again in order to have their happy ever after. Can they tear through the past? First they have to get through the lies and deceit that was thrown their way from a few people that were close to them … will Stone come out of this alive?
Stone is the second book by Shannyn Leah and another winner in the Bad Boys of Willow Valley series. The main characters are both feisty and strong and boy does the sizzling sexual tension and steamy love scenes get the heart pumping. This story will keep you engaged and enthralled as you walk on this journey with these characters with all the secrets and lies, twists and turns, danger and angst, fear and tension. The funny innuendos and the witty banter are highly entertaining and will have you laughing out loud.
Grab a drink, find a comfy seat and dig in for an afternoon of entertainment that should not be missed.
Having met Stone in a previous book in this series, I was excited about reading his story. It wasn’t at all as I thought it would be and because of my own squeamish nature and aversion to violence, I did find this novel difficult to read. Despite his extreme introversion, it is good to know that Stone has friends in his corner who are willing to protect him through thick and thin and to watch his back. However, when he comes face to face with Bowie, all the anger of his past comes back to haunt him. He initially turns his back on Bowie, but when she lets him know that she needs his help, he cannot refuse her. There are moments of humour in this book as well as the resurfacing of old pain. Lies and betrayal abound as well as surprising explanations. On the whole, the book is well written with suspense and the reigniting of romance. I did find that it came to a rather abrupt ending and would have liked some of the loose ends tied up. Although this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a stand-alone and can be read as such. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
If your girlfriend took out a no contact order against you, would you even consider taking her back? Stone says no but his heart still belongs to Bowie. When she explains why, he’s ready to forgive her but his friends don’t forgive so easily. Especially when Bowie then gets him into an underground grudge fight. Will they ever manage to get together?
Love & anger are two extreme emotions. Both have their own form of heat. Stone’s anger at Bowie is more hurt at her betrayal than true anger. He has to learn to listen to what she says & give forgiveness or he will stay bitter & alone. Bowie has to realize there is such a thing as tough love & her brother needs that more than the pandering & spoiling. He needs to grow up & atone for his actions. Another great story!
I am just loving this Willow Valley Series and Stone is one of Dax’s friends. Ten years ago Stone was an underground fighter and in love with Bowie Blake but things happened and he left that life for a peaceful one in Willow Valley. When Bowie shows up to beg Stone to fight again to save her brother he has a hard time saying no to her even if he hates her brother Reed. Stone has to fight Walker and win or he kills Reed who is already in a wheelchair for his stupidity but this fight could kill Stone. I loved the integrity that Stone has and his ability to forgive and take on this fight and how Bowie had the strength to help her brother even if she was wronged.
