this series just keeps getting better
Great continuation of the first book. Love Maeve. Loving the twists in this story. Makes the book entertaining to read cause you never know what is going to happen. It is a bit slower than the previous one but it’s got more depth and a good plot. Going to pick up book three right this moment.
Tucking away in a magical world with a very strong female lead. This part continues to redeem the curse on the dragons. To relieve Caliban of his dragon, they go to the Fae Council, also to ask for help in defeating Queen Elinore who is married to her brother. She would be Queen Adete who turned her men into dragons. She does not get the help she expected, but a Guardian comes along, the same one who has a crush on Caliban. The struggle continues and Maeve uses her magic to save her loved one from his death. Her brother was enchanted just before Queen Adete / Elionore was defeated and Maeve was crowned queen
A great sequel. So much is happening and it is not enough. I had to laugh at the piece that the Guardian returns to the tower with them. Maeve’s jealousy shines off the pages and her thoughts are presented humorously.
Exciting, compelling story!

Betrayal, love, magic, backstabbing…in another words, politics at its best. Thrown in some a situation, it is easy to throw in the towel and just give up. Why try to help when those you wish to help don’t even believe in you? Two words… “moral compass” .

This book had good character development with a story that kept you guessing. It has good movement of the characters throughout the story with good action and drama. Overall this was a good story and can’t wait to read next one.

Stone and Blood by Marie Robinson is a steamy shifter romance that is best enjoyed if you read the first book but plan on reading the rest of the books in the series. I would not recommend you read this if you hate cliffhangers since this is not a stand-alone series.

How can she choose between her new love and brother she always known? How can she both defend herself, having just come into her powers and still learning them, her Dragons and her Kingdom? Oh my GOSH!!! I am so addicted to this series!! INCREDIBLE!!!

This book two picks up where book one left off with Maeve attaining her powers. She also has just about cured her dragon men from their curse. Now they can choose when to shift. With the exception of Caliban. Her brother is still married to the evil queen. Now, will Maeve be corrupted by her magic or will having it as a separate entity save her? Can Caliban be saved? Will the evil queen get her hands on Maeve and her men/dragons? Intriguing and exciting read

This was such a great book. With it being the second book in the series, it continued from the first book as if it never ended. Maeve loves Caliban and wants to break the curse her people have on them.

Book Two with New Twists, and a Spotlight on Caliban
The first book of the series was actually one of the first books that I read as a new Booksprout member earlier this year. So I was glad when the author put all of the books back on the service, as I hadn’t yet read the other three in the series. To warm up before this second book, I reread the first, and I was reminded how much I enjoyed this complex world that the author has created. I love Maeve as a character. In the first book, I loved how she was dogged in her pursuit of knowledge, trying to unlock her magic. In a lot of the books I read (regency romance), women with intellectual pursuits are often looked down upon by other characters. But the dragons in that first book did not look down upon her for this. Of course, I loved the dragons in the previous book, both their dragon forms and their only under-a-full-moon human form.
But enough about book one. Book two picks up where book one leaves off. With Maeve having access now to her magical power, she is able to unwind, but not wholly remove, the curse from the dragon men. They have been cursed to be dragons for so long that the curse is bound up with their life force, and to wholly remove it could be deadly. But Maeve is able to make it so they can choose when to be dragons. It is actually quite fascinating to watch her work with her magic because, unlike other books, it is not inherent within her. Rather, she sees it as something separate with which she works to attain a goal. The only one for whom the curse separation didn’t work well was Caliban. He struggles mightily with who he is and makes it difficult for himself.
After the ceremony, the team splits up. Caliban and Maeve go to the fae realm, Septimus stays at the tower, and Trystan and Gwayne go to Caledonia to try to figure out if the new queen, Fergus’s wife, is the same queen who cursed them centuries ago. Enough of this summary. If you want to find out more, you will have to read the book. It does have some surprising twists and turns and ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. This book is definitely steamier than book one. Caliban is an interesting character to follow because he truly is at war with himself, and like Maeve, you will want to help him heal and appreciate himself.
If you enjoyed book one, book two ramps up the action on several fronts. If you haven’t yet read book one, definitely read it first so you can understand the full context of this book. The author does provide a little prologue that sums up book one, but book one is so well done, that you won’t want to miss it. Looking forward to books three and four!
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This book continues perfectly where book one left off. You learn that Maeve’s magic is unique, she doesn’t just rule it or it rule her. They work beautifully together as a team. Her journey and development throughout the book with her men Caliban, Trystan, Septimus and Gwayne is written very well. I am looking forward to what new twists and turns book three will bring to this story.

ONE SCINTILLATING EXPERIENCE!!!
Outstanding! Marie brought her A-game that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Traversing the trials and tribulations along with a horde of twists and turns bring this bad boy together sleek, shiny and tight. The adversity, apprehension, intrigue and suspense make for one thrilling experience. Witnessing all the startling revelations that thrusts this bad boy to life beautifully. A spinning multitude of unforseen mishaps and impulsive events that blasts all of your stormy emotions melding this bad boy together piece by piece. Luring you in so deep until nothing else exists. Storming, sizzling and electrifying chemistry that blows this baby wide open. The characters are authentic and relatable with on point personalities that bend and flow. The scenes are vividly descriptive in the realistic true to life form. Fantastic job Marie, thanks for sharing this awesome gem with us.
Wholly smokes what a great second book. It immediately picks up where it left off from book one.
You will go on an intense journey with Maeve and her men. Maeve finally knows what it feels like to have magic? Can she help The guys break the curse on the guys? The question is can she handle it. Will it corrupt her? Will she be able to control it and be able to use it to defeat evil? Ahh, I would tell you but then you would not read this amazing book. Her relationships with her Caliban, Trystan, Septimus and Gwayne is getting intense. Obviously she has some steamy nights with Trystan in book one so you will see more develop with someone else. Just make sure you are sitting somewhere that is cold. The heat in this book is flammable. You need to be prepared for the unexpected. You never know what will happen but to know that dragons got bested is quit funny. There is a war brewing so obviously Maeve will need to learn how to battle with magic.
I can’t tell you how much you need to read this series. You will fall in love with all the characters.

This book picks up where the first one left off and is just as full of magic, plot twists, and romance as the first book.
If book one left me happy and content, book two left me gasping and warm. This story furthers the lives of the Princess and her dragons. There are moments of joy and heart, but also action as some scenes that had ne talking back to the story. I loved the choices the author made for these characters and the ride she took me on.
The author creates such a rich and detailed world, I felt part of the story and connected to the characters. I have questions for book three, hopes for it as well and I am excited to jump on in. I received an ARC via Booksprout and I am leaving an honest review.
Omg the way this story is written is awesome. The build up so so great with lots of good sexy moments also. Great struggles and challenging. I’m I’m in love with this series
