Stolen is the prequel to Severed and should be read first.
In this story, Dani paints a very dark picture. One of depravity and violence. Although, she is somehow able to give you hope for the main characters, Caia and Drake.
Stolen is for anyone who likes darker romance. And unexpected heroes.
This story ends in a cliffhanger and should be followed by reading Severed. I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
Be warned: There is no Light here! Yes, you read correctly.
Everything here is dark, real dark and characters are in place With no escape That Would make anything better. With no hope you have to Play garda you are given.
Ale what is your game? In this Novella we only Her A glimpse of something dark, gritty and Raw That Would not be Neutral to anyone – you can Love it or hate it.
Dark, this story is midnight dark. Dani Rene leads the reader right into the frightening, incomprehensible, salacious, degenerate action filled depravity that one human can perpetrate on another. From the very beginning, I felt terror, anxiety and sadness, sadness not only for the victims, but also for several of the victimizers. I was enthralled by Caia’s strength and fortitude and mesmerized by Drake’s perverted pain. This story certainly did its job as a prequel, since it left me craving more—much, much more.
Dani René has managed to ‘wow’ me again with her new release ‘Stolen’. Be warned! This book is not for the faint-heartened. This story is dark and depraved to its core. It’s a cruel world, where the most fucked up monsters rule. Buckle up for the darkest and twistest book you’ll ever read!
Holy Wow this book is darker than dark and depraved and I was hooked. Drake is a completely functional broken alpha and what he has grown up with and into makes my heart break. Caia is just an innocent thrown into a terrible situation. Truly there is so little that can be said without giving anything away however this is a DARK story and if that is your thing you will be hooked. I cannot wait to read more about these characters and this was the perfect set up/start to what is going to be a dark twisted road
You will find a picture of this cover by the word intense in the dictionary. When you finish this one, you will be left shattered, broken, wondering what you just read and being compelled against your best intentions to want, no need, more. FYI, set periodic reminders to keep breathing before you start. You have been warned.
Well………don’t I feel like I’ve been chewed up, ripped apart and put back together like a f*cked up jigsaw puzzle.
Dark, depraved, dangerous, compelling, repelling, engrossing. So well written about such a dark subject. It’s like a car accident on paper, you’re horrified by the story but just can’t look away. Disturbingly brilliant.
“There’s nothing left inside me; there is only death in my eyes.”
Oh. My. Gods. I can’t even with this book. It is wicked dark, but it is wicked good. If you can handle dark elements I highly suggest this book, because Drake is such a contradiction to himself. He’s ruthless, and cold, but at the same time he somehow managed to hold on to the smallest bit of his morality that let’s him feel for Caia, and what she going through. What she has to endure in her “training” sessions.
“You’re broken, aren’t you?”
“I’m not broken, little bird,” I tell her. “You’d have to be whole before you can break.”
There’s more to him than meets the eye. When it comes to Caia, she’s a spitfire of a thing. Reminds me of the saying, “I may be tiny, but fierce.” And boy is she. As she needs to be. She gains respect quickly for her strength. This book is absolutely amazing, and fills my dark little heart with joy. If you love the dark books as much as me you will love this one. And a final word from Drake;
“I’m broken.
I’m off limits.
I’m Drake Savage.”
Stolen is the perfect title for this novella because that’s exactly what it did- stole my breath and left me salivating for more. Intense, dark and gripping Caia and Drake’s story made my little black heart dance with glee. From the very beginning their story didn’t pull any punches and kept me constantly teetering on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I was slowly starting to figure out what was about to happen I was thrown a completely unexpected twist and turned in a whole new jaw-dropping direction. After this amazingly dark, twisted yet captivating start to this series I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds!!
Any prequels I’ve read previously give you a tease of what you can expect in future books however this one doesn’t fit that mold. There’s no lulling the reader into a false sense of security no softly softly approach. This is dark brutal and scared the … out of me at times. Drake and Caia are both trapped in a brutal world with no chance of escape.
I’m not sure what I just read but I’m hooked and this is only the prequel. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.
This has got to be the darkest story I have read to date and it is just the prequel. I can’t wait for the next book. I was on the edge of my seat unsure if I was ready to turn the page to experience more evil at times, but when the page turned it was so good and dark. Drake and Caia’s relationship is so unusual. It will make you wonder how people can be like that. Read this today and enter the awesome world of Dani Rene’ and her spectacular dark books.
Holy Hello Kitty, Dani!!!!!! I FLOVED IT!!!!!!! I NEED MORE!!!!!!! Dani Rene rocked my literary world with this book!!!! I couldn’t stop turning pages!!!!!
Shocking and gripping….
Talk about sins of the father… this prequel sets the scene for what is clearly going to be a very dark series… pure evil lurks in these pages… a malevolence which the main characters Drake and Caia must endure to have any chance of overcoming………
This is a shocking and intense start, which promises a tortuous journey of violence, destruction and depravity as the series progresses… what on the face of it appears to be a story of abduction and abuse is so much more complex…Drake and Caia, captor and captive, but they are are both tortured souls and must fight their own battles if either is to survive.. which begs the question who is truly the victim and who is really in control…
The author has created a bleak and unforgiving world and I have dipped my toe into the murky waters and with some trepidation look forward to taking that deep breath and the long cold plunge into the ensuing darkness of this series…I received an advanced copy of this book from the author
wow talk about a dark read! she was stolen and is now his to do with whatever he pleases. you must read this story.
This is the prequel to severed and honestly I’m not sure how I feel after reading this. This story is raw, dark, and gruesome. Though I feel that through all the dark and depraved there is a sliver of hope presenting itself at the end. Drake along with his twin Dante and best friend River have been raised through hell itself. Holding different ranks in their father’s torture. Caia has been stolen and now being forced into this hell. As I read this story I first thought there was no way I could possibly see Drake as more than the evil man he portrays. Though like I said I have hope for his redemption in severed.
This is not a pretty story. However the author lays the ground work for a story I believe will blow all expectations out of the water. If so much can be packed into this novella I can only imagine what a full length story will bring
Trigger Warning!!!!! This book has sensitive topics that some may find hard to read.
This dark masterpiece will leave you speechless. It is dark, twisted and leaves you asking for more. This dark tale is not a happy one on any way. As Dani tells the beginning of this story with the horrors it has, it begs to question what is coming in the next book. It can’t come fast enough.
Holy cow!!! This is dark, sadistic, gory and soo much more.
Is dark and I was hooked. Stolen is a prequel, so you know there is so much more coming and I can’t wait. Drake and Dante have live thru so much, oh. It don’t get it twisted they are not your typical boys, they are worst and Caía, My God Caia….
I just can’t wait to see where Dani is gonna take us with this story, so far I see no end of this tunnel and I’m gonna follow it to the end!
5 dark stars!!!
** I read and advance copy and this is my honest opinion**
I don’t know where to start with this book.
It’s a short prequel for the upcoming severed.
It’s probably one of the darkest stories I have read.
It’s gory, gruesome and rather disturbing. I couldn’t beleive what I was reading. There’s blood, pain and suffering.
My head was in turmoil after reading this. Dani sure knows how to mess with our heads and keep us wanting more.
ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWINGLY AMAZINGLY DARK*
I just could not stop reading and reading. OMG STOLEN was just brilliant and I’m just so so damn eager to know more about Caia and Drake. There’s SO much to know and i just about died at the end of Stolen.
And can we talk about the MM going on for a bit?
River and Dante would light things on fire!
And i definitely wouldn’t mind some backflashes of Drake and River.. just saying
But most important of all wtf was that about the sister?!?OMG so many questions
AND THAT CLIFFY!!!
IN SHORT I NEED SEVERED like yesterday. Amazing job done by Dani René i read a dark romance after sometime and it was GOOD
This prequel is darker then dark. Caia is a strong woman and her and Drake have their own dark issues to deal with. From the start to can see how gritty and gripping this book is going to be. Your drawn in from start to finish! Well worth reading!
