Oh damn what did I just read from Dani, because wow was this ahhmazing. I’d been looking for a dark book to read that would shock, entice and make me tingle just with the intense excitement and this book did it in spades. Caia has been taken by the devil and is to be sold as a slave his son Drake has seen thing’s he can never forget has taken an interest in Caia, but he knows if he shows any interest in her she’ll be killed. She doesn’t know they have special plans for Caia, but she does know that nobody is coming to save her. Can Drake save her in time? This isn’t a love story this is about survival and Caia is determined to not let them break her. I think the whole time I was holding my breath to see what happened next and to think this is only the prequel the appetizer to the main course. I cannot wait to read what happens next, because you can bet it will be freaking intense.
This is just my opinion and my voluntary review
Oh wow I have read some dark and sinister books but I think I have read the most one of all. And this is just the prequel of what is to come. But even with all that it was at the same time a heartbreaking read Drake has so much to give that I’m just so anxious to see what he is capable of doing and give for him to save his sanity and what it’s precious to him. Love the writing love the way the story is heading and I can’t wait to find out what’s to come next.
Wow Dani blew this out of this world. Even though it was dark and haunting I couldn’t put it down. Drake was raised by the devil and has become one himself, but does he have a glimmer of light once he meets the new captive. Caia never thought this would happen to her, but now it has and she has to find ways to deal. But seeing Drake everyday and thinking she has a glimmer of hope may crush her.
Wow!! After reading this prequel from Dani Rene, I’m just sitting and trying to collect my thoughts. This is introduction to upcoming series The Taken, which will drown you and keep you in the darkness.
I was reading that kind of books before, but this one really bent my knees and leave me speechless.
Be aware that this story is not for the faint hearted.
Even if this is gripping and shocking story, full of evil and violence, that is also about fighting.
Drake’s world was always about evil, pain and tortures. He never experienced good feelings or love. He was trained from the childhood how to become a monster.
Caia has been captive into his world in the age of eighteen, when she was still innocent girl.
His mission is to break her, and her is to survived. But what if they will fall in love with each other?
I was confused from the beginning and as a hopeless romantic was looking for the light in this dark and grusome story. Even Drake broke my heart countless times, I knew that he has some humanity deep down in his soul. Caia surprised me as well. She was so young but her strenght and determination was very impressive.
Even it’s just the prequel of the story in The Taken series, it was like thunder and lightning at the same time for me. I still have a huge hangover after and can’t wait for more Drake and Caia’s story in Severed.
She is making him feel – Caia –
She is making him covet – Caia
She will be dead by tomorrow – Caia
Drake doesn’t feel – he devours – he destroys – he watches as they devolve. He. Does. Not. Feel.
Stolen starts out by plunging the reader straight in the depraved darkness of Drake and Dante’s world and only progresses deeper exposing the twisted layers that form the depravity that is their reality
This is dark – very dark but there is a light, hope that peeks through –
Who am I kidding no one is waking out of this intact
I read a complimentary copy
Stolen is a gruesomely dark and gripping novella that deserves more than 5 stars.
Drake and Caia are both in hell, for different reasons. One was born into it, the other was taken there. Both want to leave but they have no escape.
For a prequel, Stolen is the best introduction to a series I’ve ever read. The ending is perfectly done, which left me sat with my mouth gaping open wondering what in the heck just happened and what was going to happen. And if this is anything to go by, the rest of the series is going to be fantastic.
Amazing, heartbreaking story of Drake, who was born into the dark world to rule it and Caia, who was forced into that world. Does Drake wants that darkness in his life? Does he have a choice not to bend to his fathers choice? What and who is Caia to him? All this answers and more you will find in this deliciously twisted, dark and amazing book!
This novella is the perfect tease for the story yet to come. Dani has once again gone back to what she does best and given us a dark tale that makes my little heart fill with joy.
This is the beginning of Drake and Caia. Two people who are trapped in a world with no escape. The number of overwhelming emotions Dani has managed to write into this little novella is out of this world. Their story is gripping and the ending is perfect – or not so perfect if (like me) you are unwilling to wait to read what happens next.
Caia was taken, she knows not why or where she is. Drake thinks he is a monster but Caia sparks something inside him.. He is an unwilling participant but it is all he knows, his father’s business. Taking and selling people to be used however the very rich see fit. Caia makes Drake feel something he hasn’t felt in forever. TBC
The twisted horrific deathly kind of nightmares when being kidnapped or taken is brought to life. This was dark indeed. prequel sets the beginning and the surroundings of the characters as well as shows you the activity going on in that horrible place. I have no idea where this story will go since it seemed like death is everywhere but that is probably why it hooked me.
Holy Hell!
Hell is exactly where the characters in this book are!
Drake is the spawn of The Devil and has lived his whole life in the depravity and gruesomeness of the vile evil man who doesn’t deserve the title of father.
He doesn’t know anything soft or loving. It’s something he’s never experienced.
Drake only knows pain and destructive tendencies.
Caia wakes up in a dark dank dungeon.
She’s drugged and disoriented and nothing is making sense to her.
At eighteen she’s innocent and naive from her father’s over protectiveness.
Caia is one strong young lady.
No matter what the Devil and his minions put her through she’s determined not to break.
I thought Caia was a tough strong willed girl.
Even though she’s in the pits of hell she still didn’t give up and outwitted the Devil.
Depriving him of the ultimate prize.
Poor Drake broke my heart.
The darkness in him is not of his making but of the circumstances and environment that is forced upon him.
I feel that somewhere very deep inside of him is a small flicker of light wanting to shine through.
Even though I think he’ll never be “normal” there is some humanity still left in him.
Gripping intense book that I had my heart pumping so fast and hard I was worried about myself.
It’s jaw dropping and shook me to my core.
I can’t wait for Severed!
Bring it on Ms. Rene!
My little black heart is so glad that this is only a prequel because I so need more of this story.
We all at times wonder what hell would be like, but our imaginations couldn’t take us to where Drake and Caia find themselves. Neither have a choice about being trapped in Mr Savages’s “playground”, Drake because he has to do his father’s bidding or suffer the consequences and Caia because she’s been ‘Stolen’ and is now a toy for the sick and twisted games of the rich and depraved.
For those readers with triggers this dual POV story is not for you, the level of torture, humiliation and deprivation will mess with your head. For those who love a dark and twisted read then jump into this short prequel, though be warned it may surprise you and test your limits.
Wow!!! There is literally no hope this is super dark and twisted and nothing good is coming just nope pure sadistic. Drake and his father are coming and will Calia have the strength left to fight.
I Absolutely love this dark story, i can’t wait for it to continue.
At first I thought drake was a cold heartless man but the more I read the more I loved him, he’s in there somewhere.
Caia, beautiful and feisty with a mouth she can’t control, I love her but the fear I had in the pit of my stomach reading this never went away it grips you from the first page and you can’t put it down because I had to know what came next.
Patiently waiting for severed
Cold, calculating and cruel, yet somehow compelling. I couldn’t put this book down and all the way through I was hoping for some kind of redeeming feature and just when there was a glimmer of hope – poof- it was snuffed out and now I have to wait for the next one to find out what happens. Make no mistake this is a dark, violent and filthy book in more ways than one but is written in such a way that the reader is sucked in and keeps on reading, but be warned there is no happy ending and no promise of anything but pain and misery and not for the feint of heart be warned. I was and am glad that I still read it.
I’m blown away by this story. The dark content, is perfectly dark. It’s gruesome and gory details, is good and not for everyone. I love that it’s the beginning of a new book to come.
Stolen -The Prequel is about Drake and Caia and how they intermingled with each other. They struggle with the choices and situations that are being made to and for them.
This book is a gut wrenching read. It will have you gasping for air at all the situations.
Wow! My mind has just been blown. While this is definitely one of the darkest stories I have read to date, I absolutely loved it. It is so unreal that I couldn’t put it down! From beginning to end, I was on the edge of my seat not knowing what could possibly happen next. My emotions are all over the place. The characters Drake and Caia are so perfectly described that you can actually envision what they look like. Needless to say, their relationship isn’t like your modern day fairytale, that’s for sure. I can’t wait to read the next book, Severed, to find out what happens to them. This author needs to be applauded for writing this incredible book that keeps your heart beating fast and your mind going in all directions ! If you love dark stories, like I do, then this book is for you!
Mind freakin blown! I cannot believe this is a first for this author writing this dark and disturbing of a story, the way everything unfolds for Caia and Drake I wouldn’t dare put my kindle down because I was hooked. The storyline is one that kept me on your toes with all the possible scenarios of why things are happening as they are, just when I thought I had it figured out there’s another twist that would leave me gasping in shock of what I’ve just read. Caia is a strong girl but I wonder just how much more she can take and when it comes to Drake, the way he was raised and seeing the man he’s becoming I wonder which path he will take in the end. I cannot wait to see what happens next and will be eagerly waiting for more. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Stolen is a dark and decadent read from the amazing Dani Rene. You will love the darkness and sexy features this truly enthralling read has to offer. Don’t miss out on this read if you love love love dark romance. Go grab it now.
Well I don’t know what to say after reading this. The author floored me.
Drake and Caia are living a nightmare. Drake was born into it and Caia was dragged into it.
Don’t think that as this is a prequel it will be just an introduction, a teaser of what’s to come. I don’t think the author believes in a gentle build up, well she certainly doesn’t in this story. This short read is fast paced and action packed with darkness. Yes be warned this book will push you:)
Can’t wait for Severed. I’ve high expectations that the author will bring us more darkness.
