A senseless slaughter leads Lucas Davenport down a twisted path in this thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author. Lucas Davenport has seen many terrible murder scenes. This is one of the worst. In the Minnesota town of Wayzata, an entire family has been killed—husband, wife, two kids, dogs. On the wall, in blood: “Were coming.” No apostrophe. There’s something about the scene that … There’s something about the scene that tugs at Lucas’s cop instincts—it looks an awful lot like the kind of scorched-earth retribution he’s seen from Mexican drug gangs. But this is a seriously upscale town, the husband ran a modest software company, the wife dabbled in local politics. None of it seems to fit.

At times this was slow but if you are a prey fan it won’t disappoint
I prefer Virgil Flowers but Lucus is an interesting man. Stanford can weave a plot that is seamless. His foreshadowing is sutile enough that he doesn’t give away his endings. I like reading the Stanford books, but they are my favorite audio books. They are engaging enough to melt the miles but still allow me to watch my driving.
Excellent writing and great charaterd
John Sandford keeps up his series of Policeproceutals with this latest effort. There are very few authors that I purchase there new books as soon as they are published. John Sandford is certainly one of these authors.
Sandford never disappoints!
I love all of Sanford’s characters
I’m definitely a Lucas Davenport fangirl. This series and the Virgil Flowers series, can’t get enough of them.
It was entertaining and kept my interest.
Another A+ in the Lucas Davenport line. Sandford is one of my very favorites.
I love all of John Sandford Prey Series books and I especially love Lucas Davenport!
Sandford is a master. Lucas is one of the greatest cop characters in fiction.
A suspenseful novel that kept you turning the pages to find out the conclusion.
Another winner from John Sandford.
don’t have a bad book
I am a Lucas fan and therefore a Sandford fan. It starts with a gory murder scene and keeps rolling. I have reread several sections. Really enjoyed Letty’s growth in this book
Always good to visit with John Sandford
Sanford is one of The BEST of All Time !
Sanford never disappoints. This one is one of his best. Detective Davenport is a sort of Jack Reacher type.
Have read almost all of his books and they are all great very hard to put down once you start
John Sandford’s STOLEN PREY does not disappoint. Full disclosure: I really really like Sandford’s books. AND I am a Minnesota girl. Lucas is investigating the horrific murders of an entire family taken out by cartel hitmen. This excellent tale intertwines three separate crimes. When things start to unravel, someone is going to die.
