Sara Campbell doesn’t do relationships. As a divorce lawyer, she’s witnessed one too many failed marriages and has zero plans to add herself as another statistic. Cooper Divers has enough on his plate as a local detective and doesn’t have time for a relationship. Fun is the name of the game for him. From the first time they meet Sara and Cooper are like oil and water, pitching verbal jabs at each … verbal jabs at each other for their own entertainment.
But when they’re thrown together as the best man and maid of honor, the undeniable spark and heat between them ignites.
It doesn’t take long for Cooper to realize that he’s willing to toss away his rules on relationships. Can he convince Sara to do the same and take a chance on love?
more
Cooper and Sara were asked to help plan the wedding of his brother and her best friend and weren’t thrilled with the idea. Will their constant togetherness lead to romance or will their lively banter fizzle out into only friendship?
Sara doesn’t trust easily because her mother has had many men in her life, not all of them nice. She can’t deny that Cooper is sexy and handsome and that he makes her wonder what it would be like to be alone with him. Sara assumed that Cooper was a womanizer but as she got to know him, she realized she had been mistaken. Sara was impressed by Cooper’s self confidence, work ethic and his dedication to keeping their community safe. Cooper was very attracted to Sara but she seemed hesitant about opening her heart to love. He felt Sara worked too hard and was always serious, which didn’t stop him from wondering what was under her sexy business suits. Sometimes Sara looked sad and a bit wistful which made Cooper want to make her smile and chase away her problems. Cooper would wait forever for Sara because he knew she was the one for him and he only hoped she would someday feel the same way about him.
I love Cooper and Sara with their back and forth comments, sexy glances and heart stopping kisses. It was very apparent that their attraction was mutual and I kept waiting for one of them to make the first move. Sara may have been confused about her feelings for Cooper but in the end, she realized a grand gesture was necessary to show Cooper that they were soulmates and meant to be together.
* I received an ARC but am leaving an honest and voluntary review *
This was my first time reading Renee’s work but I’m already looking forward to my next one.
This was an easy to read story with an interesting plot. The characters were amazing and their chemistry was awesome.
I didn’t see the twist coming! But, it was definitely needed.
Thanks for sharing your story with me, Renee Harless!
This is the second book to this series. I loved the first book so much & didn’t really think that the author Renee Harless could top it, but boy was I wrong.
Sara Campbell is a big time divorce lawyer, who has seen so many failed marriages, that she herself wants no part of any relationship. Sara’s best friend is engaged to Jackson Divers & he has a brother by the name of Cooper, who is a police detective. Sara & Cooper met over a year ago, but they seemed to like each other on sight. Whenever they are around each other, they always seem to argue about something. They are like fire & ice, & that’s how is until Elle & Jackson ask them to assist a wedding planner to plan Elle’s & Jackson’s wedding. They will be thrown together for weekends & some week nights. Then you start having fireworks & a lot of attraction between the two. Once they start getting into the plans, they realize that they actually like each other & they can’t seem to keep their hands or bodies off each other. Do you think it will last? Please pick up a copy to find out.
This book has a lot of laughs, a whole bunch of smoke, & sex, sex, sex. Kudos to Renee Harless, for writing such a great book. Please pick up this series & just read it, because I really believe you will like it as much as I did.
I loved this book, I couldnt wait for Sara’s story!! I loved Sara and Cooper their story was very steamy I couldnt stop reading, this story was very intriguing and the romance was off the charts!! I loved Cooper, I loved how he was always going after Sara I love those kind of men!! Oh did I mention he was a hot detective? I loved this story it was very well done 5 stars!!
I adored this slow burn yet heartwarming story. Renee Harless has done an outstanding job of giving us a storyline that is lighthearted, romantic and funny; with some angst and tension added. Renee also does an awesome job of giving us well-developed characters that are relatable and easy to love.
This is a fantastic story of finding true love and happiness that leaves you wishing for more. An absolute must read!!
Wow…who can resist Cooper! Hot, sexy, and everything else! Sara needed her butt kicked and I think he did a wonderful job of getting her head out of her there!
A nice surprise visit from others made me smile and I loved their hobby.
I love cooper and Sara’s story, it had me gripped from the start.
Cooper is a man who knows what he wants, Sara is scared of things she has no control over but together can they conquer all.
This story fills you with love and laughter that will warm your soul
I adored this heartwarming story. The author has done an outstanding job of giving us a storyline that is lighthearted, romantic and funny; with some majorly tense moments added it. As for the characters, another outstanding job of giving us characters that we can relate to and enjoy the ride of life right alone with them.
Sara is a divorce attorney who has closed herself off from love and relationships, as she sees the bad side to marriage everyday. I loved her take charge attitude but I must say there were times I just wanted to shake her and tell her to lighten up. Cooper is a sexy on a stick police detective and has his life pretty much in order. He is fun and playful especially with Sara. You see he and Sara seem to have this combatant love hate thing going on. But when Elle begs Sara and Cooper to work with the wedding planner for her upcoming marriage, something they both see as a disaster waiting to happen, the story takes off and takes you on a funny, sexy, romantic ride. A ride were two people just might learn there is more to life than work, sleep and repeating it again.
2 Thumbs Up for a great fun flirty read. I highly recommend grabbing up this 5 Stars read!
“I’m not ready for you. I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready.”
Oh. My. Lord! I loved this story so much!! I’m pretty sure if Cooper Divers was a real man, I just might have to use my hall pass on him. SWOON!!!!
Cooper Divers can’t deny Sara’s beautiful. He can’t deny she’s smart, and sexy, and royal pain his his….well, you know what. She’s affected him like no other woman before, and now that they’ve been enlisted by his brother, Jackson, and his fiance Elle, to take over the details of planning their wedding, they’re going be spending a lot of time together. Time he plans on using to wear her down and chip away at the wall she’s put around herself – the wall with the graffiti proclaiming that love sucks. He’s a patient man, and he’ll wait as long as it takes for her to realize that she’s already his. She’s always been his.
Sara Campbell is a self-proclaimed cynic. As a divorce lawyer, she’s seen what love can do to a person. It does nothing but lead to hatred and bitterness, and the total destruction of what was once considered to be sacred. The fact that her mom is on husband number five, and her best friend Elle was a statistic, only serves to reinforce her non-belief in the institution of love. Now, with Elle getting remarried, she’s been asked to help with the planning. The problem? She has to work with Cooper, Elle’s soon to be brother in law. Cooper is hot, for sure – muscles, good looks and a job that screams “HOT COP” – turns her stoic personality to it’s knees. But she can’t give in. She can’t subject her hear to destruction if whatever might start between them, turns to utter and total crap. But, he makes her feel things she doesn’t want to feel – loved, safe, wanted. Does she dare let him in and take the chance? Or, should she continue to shut him out to protect herself from what she believes is certain heartbreak? Has she pushed him away too many times to even get the chance to find out?
Such a great addition to this duet! If you haven’t read the story of Elle and Jackson, definitely go grab it now! Then, grab Stolen Kisses. Cooper and Sara will steal your heart!!
This can be read as a Stand Alone, and I started out reading as one (not realizing it was the 2nd book), about 20% in I had to put it down, go purchase Stolen Nights because I just felt like I was missing part of Elle & Jackson’s story. So my suggestion is to start with Stolen Nights, not only are you given Elle & Jackson’s story, you get to see how Combustible Sara & Cooper are. As the reader, you can feel the tension between these two, so it’s no wonder that Elle & Jackson put their plan in motion to get them to take their heads out of their @sses.
Cooper is a very domineering man with a commanding personality (in a good way), he oozes Sex Appeal but also has moments of acting like a teenage boy, like the time when he spiked Sara’s drink with methylene blue (a non-narcotic) that made her vomit.
Sara is a fiercely independent woman who has worked her butt off to become a jr partner in her law firm specializing in divorce cases. If you tell her to do something she will do the absolute opposite. She has never needed anyone & isn’t about to start now. And she is not above taking revenge on Cooper for spiking her drink when she had Elle give him Ex-Lax brownies.
Their antics may seem juvenile but it’s really just like the girl in pre-school who likes a boy & is mean to him. They don’t know how to act, how to feel something foreign to them & mostly they can’t admit to these emotions. Cooper realizes these things before Sara and he’s so gentle in letting her get there in her own time, well that is until he’s not.
This book is filled with all the “feels” a reader wants, tension, angst, combustion, love, sex, and laughter. The scene where Sara was prepping for Elle’s bachelorette party had me snort laughing!
Sara the stubborn divorce attorney and also Elle’s bestfriend and cooper Jackson annoying brother have to work together to plan an amazing wedding for Elle & Jackson but two people that can’t stand each other really be in the same room? This heartbreaking take chances dramatic story is a must read and see if Sara takes a chance.

All the Swoon worthy Moments
Two of my new favorite characters from Renee Harless
Stolen Kisses; Added to favorites list
Sara rejects any type of commitment; she just doesn’t go there. Her fear of things outside of her control has literally set the course for her life. So what she least expected was Cooper and all of the things he makes her feel…Coopers never felt anything like what he does for Sara. He’s a man that know what he wants & even though he never saw her coming he definitely won’t be letting her go. This is a story about taking a leap of faith, putting your walls down and letting love in and I could not have enjoyed it more.
4 1/2 stolen hearts! Because that is what Cooper does from the beginning of this story, he steals my heart. This is one sweet, sexy and oh so charming man. Sara really never had a chance. All their back and forth bickering has been like foreplay for these two. I love how Jackson and Elle devise a plan so Cooper and Sara have to spend time together. Seems like maybe they knew before Sara and Cooper did. I just adore when they realize what is really going on between them and they go all in. I love these characters and their story. It’s honestly just a really sweet, steamy, sexy story that left me with a smile on my face.
Sara and Cooper’s true love story. A slow burn with chemistry in spades. Planning a wedding, not even yours, with two people who don’t believe in love, can only lead to…fireworks??? To be able to be a bystander of these two and their sassy banter was fun!! A fantastic addition to this series.
Book Review: Stolen Kisses
Author: Renee Harless
FIVE STARS
They have never really gotten along but Sara and Cooper have been thrown together to plan a wedding. They are the maid of honor and the best man for her best friend and his brother. Every one has very busy lives but the husband and wife to be own their own businesses and can’t devote the time needed to do things so they have recruited Sara and Cooper.
This book will take you along with Cooper and Sara and they manage their own busy lives, her as an attorney and him as a detective, and try to come up with the most amazing wedding for their best friend and brother. While trying to convince themselves that there is nothing but convenience between them.
Great story line. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next book by Ms. Harless.
Kelli Harper
I really enjoyed this book.
Couldn’t put it down.
Conner and Sara have great chemistry between them.
Sara Campbell is a lawyer who seems to be handed only divorce cases lately and due to that she has no interest in love. Or maybe it’s because her mom is on her 5th marriage and love never seems to last. She has finally made Senior Partner and yet she seems to be the only person working late on Friday nights and taking home cases on the weekends.
Conner Divers is a police detective and the brother to Jackson, who is dating Sara’s best friend, Elle. He works hard but when Jackson and Elle come to Sara and Conner for a favor he knows he can’t say no, even if he wants to.
With Conner attracted to Sara, will she give in to his charm the more time the two spend together? Will Sara’s phobia of relationships push Conner away?
This was a great book about finding love at an unlikely time and trying to deal with a major hang-up/phobia about love.
I thought Sara was such a smart woman but because of her job she had a very bad impression of marriage and love. She was extremely dedicated to her job and did an amazing job for her clients but that also meant she herself did not get out much.
Conner was awesome and had me laughing so many times with how he kept hitting on Sara and it was like she had no idea on how to even deal with his flirting. He was dedicated to becoming a Police Detective and was proud of how far he had come.
I loved the both Conner and Sara put aside any differences to help out Elle and Jackson with their enormous favor!! I was shocked at the things they had to do for them. I loved the cake scene and it would have been so good to try!
I though it was great when Conner put the pieces together in who Sara was although I do think that freaked her out a little!
I hated what Sara had to endure at work but I was glad that she was ok for the most part after. Although I was disappointed in how she treated Conner afterwards and I understood why he was upset with her.
So happy that Sara figured everything out in the end and I was happy with how it all turned out! – By Rebecca
Loved this book! Another must read Renee Harless!!
I hadn’t had the pleasure of reading a Renee Harless novel before finishing this one. I was a giveaway winner of an advanced copy of Stolen Kisses, how lucky was I? What fun!
I should have probably read the 1st book in this series even though this book can stand alone. I could have seen the initial sparks flying between Cooper, Jackson’s older brother and Sara, bff of Jackson’s girl, Elle and gotten the whole backstory of J and E’s romance. Apparently, there was a bit of some wrong way rubbing going on! Cooper continues to enjoy baiting Sara and trying to get a rise out of her any way he can and does, the handsome devil!
Sara is a jaded, workaholic attorney who is at the end of her rope dealing with divorcing couples and her lazy partners. She won’t subject herself to a relationship when it will only end bitterly at some point, why bother with the heartache? She’ll just get a dog!
Cooper is a police detective, he’s a one and done kind of guy when it comes to relationships. It’s just easier that way, right?
Now, he and Sara have been tasked with carrying out plans for the perfect wedding at the request of Elle and Jackson. So, how, as best man and maid of honor, could they say no to that?
As you might imagine, sparks fly, but maybe not exactly the arguing and fighting during ALL the time they spend together. They find themselves gravitating to each other even when wedding planning isn’t involved.
What? Cooper, spending time with just one woman? Sara thinking he’s not as cocky as she thought? Has the earth stopped rotating???
Grab this newly released book but if you have time, why not read Jackson and Elle’s story first…double the fun! I really loved this slow building, witty, sexy romance with a hot, strong, get what he wants kind of man but can the woman he sets his sights on leave her fears behind or will he be the broken hearted one? Good story, memorable characters and plenty of ‘what ifs’ to keep you on your toes. Now that I’ve finished this book, I know Renee Harless will be an author I’ll read again. Some interesting characters that frequent readers most likely would know made an appearance here and now I want to know more about them as well. Looks like I have more reading to do now!
What a great story. If you have read Stolen Nights, you are already familiar with Sara and Cooper. Neither of them are interested in a relationship. Especially with each other. But when they are thrown together to plan a wedding, things heat up. Can they just let go and learn to trust each other? And why does it seem like they have met before?
