A thief and a single father don’t bode well. She’s snarky, and sexy which can only lead to two broken hearts.
It was a day like any other on the ranch.
Hard work and no play makes for a cranky cowboy. Needing a night out on the town left me sneaking in my father’s house like a teenage boy. That was my first mistake of the day.
The second was playing hero to a damsel in distress that turned … hero to a damsel in distress that turned out to be no damsel at all but a sexy, snarky woman who took me by surprise.
How you ask?
I’d been a ladies man. That is until I became a father. My rebel days were gone. A six-year-old sassy daughter changed all of that for me. I didn’t need the complicated messy kind of love stuff. My hands were full.
A mission into town to handle a family issue would make my life more muddled. The day I met the woman who would steal my heart.
A thief. A woman on the run. A woman with one too many secrets. A woman whom I had to save because if I didn’t, I feared she disappear and take two hearts with her. I wasn’t prepared for the danger she was in and the decision I’d have to make. She’d hate me for sure.
I definitely wasn’t prepared for her to leave.

Bear is a single father to his six year old daughter Missy who is his everything. Even though he doesn’t always get along with his family, especially his father, he loves them and knows that they would do anything for each other.
Nita is in a tough spot so when her attempts for a new start are thwarted, she finds herself being protected by Bear and living at the family ranch. She quickly becomes part of the crew but when her past resurfaces will she run or count on the new people in her life to help her?
I enjoyed seeing how Nita fit in with everyone and can’t wait for more books centered around this family.
This was another great book with wonderful characters and a great plot. I loved it and I would recommend it to others!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Back at the Calhoun’s ranch and their troubles are getting more dirty. Developer is still making trouble with Chet and his family and it’s to the point of who’s the new mayor going to be Wyatt or the dirty developer. Car thief will steal more the a car when Bear rescues her and Nika will steal hearts of the Calhoun’s. Clem will take a few chapters for herself and her fierceness of her love of her family and doing the right thing. Wedding bells will be happening for Clem and Boone. But I’m said to say Bear’s HEA might have to wait for book 3 because this ends in a cliffhanger for him.
Bear’s story with little Missy was wonderful. Meeting the rest of the Calhounes was also great, including the newcomer Nita.
One of their last scenes tore my heart.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Wow! This story had me hooked. Love the Calhouns!
Bear is a single father just trying to do his best when he comes across a strange but beautiful woman acting suspicious and thieving in his hometown. There is only one thing he can do and that is to house-nap her until she tells him who she is and what she is running from.
Only problem is he doesn’t mean for his and his daughters hearts to get attached so quickly in the process and she doesn’t mean for the trouble that comes upon the Calhouns once again.
I just loved Bears story. It had me laughing, sighing and screaming along with each page! Bring on Ellie’s book next.
I voluntarily read this book for an honest review.
I loved Bear and Nita, they both think they know what they want in life but they soon find out it isn’t. You will laugh at how they meet, along with many other times when the rest of the family find out about her and good luck trying to resist Bears sweet wee girl Missy. But there is also that tension and mystery in regards to what Nita is running and hiding from to keep you turning the page. The fact this book not only is the story of Bear and Nita but also has the ongoing story-line of Clem and Boone along with the others makes you feel like you are coming home and seeing whats happening with everyone. I can not wait for the next in the series!!!
Author Kelly Moore has written another wonderful installment in the Whiskey River Road series. Stolen Hearts is the second book in the series (you need to read book one to fully enjoy this book) and it centers around Bear (Bradley) Calhoun, and his trials and tribulations as a single father to his 6 year old daughter.
This book is the perfect combination of mystery, heat, romance, family and rescue. The characters in this series are so wonderful and I love the way the author wrote this in multiple person POV. Nita was the romantic interest of Bear and she inserted herself into the family, she is still very mysterious.
This book will tug at your heart and you will experience an emotional roller coaster. Such a wonderfully written book! I can’t wait for book 3. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
This is the 2nd book in this series. It gives a better understanding of the books if you read them in order, these books are about the calhoun family. The story line has mystery drama and suspense
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Calhoun’s are a family you will either love or love to hate ! This series is simply funny, emotional and crazy at the same time. Bear and Nita story takes a turn I could see coming but didn’t want to. Kelly Moore as a way to make us feel all of her characters struggles and emotions beautifully. Bears daughter is so wise and witty for her age; I just love her to pieces. I even melted for the old Grouchy Calhoun patriarch ! I also liked that we get to hear more from the whole clan and see that nothing can split them ever again ; they can face any crazy things life throws at them head high. Whiskey River Road Series is a must. Warning : harsh language and steamy scenes but this makes those books even better !!
There’s more to come as we get another look into the crazy family of the Calhoun’s. This time Bear gets the spotlight when he finds a woman, Nita, stealing and hot wiring cars in town. He makes a deal with the cop who pulls her over while he was in the car with her and she ends up leaving and living with him and his young daughter, Missy. There’s more to her story and Bear vows to get it out of the woman as she wraps his family around her finger.
A good read with steam, some suspense and more trouble for the family that doesn’t seem to end. I missed the POV of Nita and my HEA, which I’m hoping will be in a future book. I did enjoy the story and the old man’s POV, getting a glimpse into the rough and gruff father of the family, Chet. Missy was adorable and I liked seeing all the characters from the first book, steal some of the scenes in this one.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Bear’s story, overall a good read, I liked this book. Bear is a good solid man. The story moved along nicely. Bear and Nita are good together. Missy is just adorable.
I enjoyed this second story in the “Whiskey River Road” series. They are best read in order. I love the Calhoun family and this is another good story that explores more family dynamics. This is a very captivating read that had me hooked. It’s an emotional roller coaster with angst, humor, wittiness and so much more. Plus, great twists and romance. The story is nicely developed and intriguing. I love the characters!
This book 2 of the Whiskey River Road series. Although Stolen Hearts could be read on it’s own. Please read book one first. You won’t regret it.
Kelly Moore keeps amazing me with the depth she works into each of her characters. Bear, his daughter, Niko and the rest of the Calhoun family will drag you in and hold you hostage in the pages of this book.
I could just see the wrangler clad ranch hands and rolls in the hay. Whew I didn’t want to put it down.
I think I liked Stolen Hearts more than book one – which is rather unusual, but with Ms. Moore everything is possible! This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend to read books in order so the situation would be clear.
Boone! I felt that his story would not be an easy one. And I was right. Be ready to get into this wild ride as this story is not only about romance, but about a family that gets together in the hard times. I LOVE how this series works in that field!
Boone’s love interest is a secret and I won’t reveal that, just that it’s not something that you would expect!
I hope that Ellie’s story will be even wilder!
Book two in the Whiskey River Road series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Two things for this series this book does end on a cliff-hanger and this series should be read in order. This is Bear Calhoun, his six year old daughter Missy, and Nita Hawkins, there is suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, attempted murder, romance, and family sticking together. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 2nd book in this series. You should read the first one to know some of the back story. Love how Bear loves his daughter & does everything to keep her safe. Gets more interesting to know what all the family secrets are. Can’t wait for the next book to see how it develops.
This is book two in the series and should be read in order.
This story is about Bradley “Bear” Calhoun and Nita, love Nita’s character. Everything is getting more complicated. I can’t wait for the next book.
I highly recommend reading this series.
This is my volunteer review .
Another splendid addition to the series!
When I read Coming Home book one of the series I could not put it down so when I saw this one was being offered as an arc I just had to pick it up and I am so glad I did. Bear was such an interesting character he was neither a saint nor a bad guy he was just so human. Nita was such a mess and so needed to get straightened out. Now reader be prepared for one hell of a ride because there is a lot going on in this piece and not everything is tied up with a pretty little bow. This is a hard review to write there is so much I want to say, but do not want to spoil it for other readers. Let me just say this one is good and the series so far is truly splendid and I highly recommend both books. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
ARC review For honest review. Wow 10 stars again she writes a story that just holds your attention that you just can’t put the book down . You can picture it all taking place just like a show in your head. The Calhoun family on there ranch you have dad chett chem and boone , (bear) Bradley his daughter 6 yrs old missy , Ellie ,Wyatt the lawyer, ethan and Margaret Maynard from the first book and neighbor now we get to meet shshonii Indian nita Hawkins who is on the run and brings trouble of her own ,besides the trouble that’s already in their back yard. Let’s just say you have a lot going on in this story to keep you turning those pages.
I absolutely love this series. Kelly Moore isn’t afraid to touch on sensitive subjects and really gets your emotions going. I was close to tears one minute and hopping mad the next.
I love how the story is not just Bear’s. Each character from the previous book gets a turn at the mic. So, go grab Coming Home, if you haven’t already! The Whiskey River Road series is one of my new favorites and I can’t wait for more!!!
5 stars
