A thief and a single father don’t bode well. She’s snarky, and sexy which can only lead to two broken hearts.
It was a day like any other on the ranch.
Hard work and no play makes for a cranky cowboy. Needing a night out on the town left me sneaking in my father’s house like a teenage boy. That was my first mistake of the day.
The second was playing hero to a damsel in distress that turned … hero to a damsel in distress that turned out to be no damsel at all but a sexy, snarky woman who took me by surprise.
How you ask?
I’d been a ladies man. That is until I became a father. My rebel days were gone. A six-year-old sassy daughter changed all of that for me. I didn’t need the complicated messy kind of love stuff. My hands were full.
A mission into town to handle a family issue would make my life more muddled. The day I met the woman who would steal my heart.
A thief. A woman on the run. A woman with one too many secrets. A woman whom I had to save because if I didn’t, I feared she disappear and take two hearts with her. I wasn’t prepared for the danger she was in and the decision I’d have to make. She’d hate me for sure.
I definitely wasn’t prepared for her to leave.

Bless my Heart… What can I say about Bear? I liked him in Clem’s book and I really felt bad for him. It’s so hard to have the feeling that you can never do enough and that you’re still paying for mistakes from the past. Bear is a single father of a beautiful and sassy little girl, he works not only at the ranch, but also at the garage he co-owns. Somehow he still finds time to play at the local bar every now and then. He has made more than his share of poor decisions and feels like he’ll never get past this with his Dad. He runs into Nita in a situation, that would probably fit too well in some of his earlier poor decisions. Bear, is an honorable man and can’t get rid of the feeling that Nita needs help and his heart is telling him she’s important. Of course the Calhouns seem like a magnet for problems and Bear’s story is no different. I love the different perspectives and hated that I have to wait for the next story to see ultimately where Bear’s story goes.
Make sutebtob read the first book in the Whiskey River Road series, Coming Home, before you read Stolen Hearts. It definitely explains a lot of what’s going on in the second installment.
You really need to read Coming Home, the first book in the series, to get the most out of the book. This is a great series and I am loving this crazy family. The Calhoun’s may fight with each other, but they love each other and will take care of their own. I really started liking the father in this book. I thought he was a little mean to his children, but I got to see another side of him in this book. He has a soft side that I liked seeing come out once in awhile. Clem, Nita and Boone are the Calhoun children. Boone has been with the family for awhile and is one of them. Of course he and Clem got back together in the first book. I loved seeing their interaction more in this book. Bear’s daughter has the whole family wrapped around her little finger. She is such a sweetheart. When Boone sees a beautiful woman getting in trouble, he is determined to help her out. I think he sees some of his old self in her and wants to make sure she goes down the right path. Of course it doesn’t hurt that she is beautiful. She has secrets she doesn’t want to tell, but can bring problems to the Calhouns. Of course that isn’t the only problems coming their way. It is a good thing that the siblings have each others’ backs. I can’t wait for the next book. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Emotional and fascinating!
This book is steamy and amazing and will push your boundaries and leave you breathless!
I loved everything about it – the characters, the plot, the emotion, the writing, and the ability that the author had to tell me a story – all of it had me wanting this book to go on and on.
The chemistry between the H and h is great plus their attitudes and events going on make the story even richer.
I received a copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
A Page Turner of FEELS!
This read is a perfect addition to this series that continues to suck me into the lives of the Calhoun family making me read it in one sitting as it spins an engrossing romance with an abundance of emotions exciting edgy twists and an easy flowing relatable storyline that pushes you to the edge of your seat feeling the passion and fire that burns with an intensity of bursts of humor sass and angst with a sweet side making for a fantastic romance that quickly has me loving this story and excited to read the next. It’s sexy hot exciting riddled with emotions with a wild romantic rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to end.
He’s got a lot of growing up to do.
Bear knocked up a girl and was left raising his daughter alone (well with help).
He consistently makes poor decisions. As in going out and partying and hooking up.
I didn’t care that he was so resentful when it’s his bad decisions that’s put him where he’s at.
