With one look, he blew down every wall I built.
Barista Aaron Fisher has no time for shame, propriety, or boyfriends. He’s tired of being used—by his family, hookups, and even a would-be blackmailer. A year after his last heartbreak, Aaron’s ready to give love another chance. He swoops in to rescue a gentle, bashful hunky customer from the depths of app-swiping hell. Their ideas of hot dates … dates couldn’t be further apart… but making Quinn blush is Aaron’s new favorite hobby.
After a string of failed first dates, personal trainer and hopeless romantic Quinn Powell is ready to give up on love before Aaron suggests a deal. Before December ends, can Aaron prove that great sex is all you need, or will Quinn show him that happily ever after does exist? Dating inappropriate, sassy Aaron is like sticking dynamite into Quinn’s tidy life. He finds himself remembering desires that have gone unsatisfied for years.
Before long they’re breaking the only rule: don’t hide their real feelings just to win the bet. Quinn’s afraid of scaring off the secretly vulnerable twink, while Aaron’s afraid of going tame if he gives his heart to the only man strong enough to see through his defenses. This is a lot more than a fling and a few fancy dates. But as their time runs out, they must find the strength to admit to their fears.
Both men need rescuing—but can they believe in themselves and each other when it matters most?
Stolen Hart is the fourth book in the new Hart’s Bay series about a small town full of nosy but well-meaning neighbors and brotherly banter. It can be read on its own, and promises a happily-ever-after ending with plenty of smiles and steam along the way. And at least one naughty thing that shouldn’t happen in a coffee shop.
more
After a broken heart, brash and sassy Aaron is determined to keep his dating activities limited to the physical, and after a string of bad first dates, strong and sensitive Quinn is ready for something real. But they can’t deny the initial attraction they feel for each other, at least to themselves, so they agree to a dating experiment for the holidays, to each give the other what they are looking for, at least for a few weeks, and then reevaluate. What could go wrong? I love the group of friends who live as a de facto family in Hart’s Bay; every time I visit, I never want to leave.
Aaron is a live life out loud sweetheart who owns his own coffeeshop. Quinn is the hot personal trainer who’s been in his shop a lot lately, all on dates that never seem to reach the 2nd time around phase. It’s when Aaron offers to help him find a good date that Quinn finally sees the sweet barista who’s been serving him for so long. Will Aaron allow things to go from flirty casual to more, though?
At first I really wasn’t sure of where this story was headed because Aaron was so very resistant to anything resembling commitment. I could tell it wasn’t because he was cold hearted or even a player, but because he had some scars from his past, but he was just so stubborn and wouldn’t communicate! Argh!!! But finally, finally, Quinn got through to him and he (and I) were rewarded with some happiness. I ended up really liking this pair of opposites together and can just see the buffed up quiet guy enjoying some coffee with his favorite sassy barista.
I’ve read all the books in this series and have enjoyed them all. The writing is good and the characters are always complex and easy to like. For this one, I have one critique: I would have liked if Quinn and Aaron had both been completely up front and honest with each other. This would have avoided a lot of the self-doubt and angst that went on a little too long for my taste. Their unexpected complete and total connection was not what either of them expected or was ready to face. This one was funny, cute and sweet while giving readers all the heat you could possibly want. I liked it!
Another amazing love story from E. Davies.
Aaron and Quinn’s story was a great read. I really enjoyed how there seemed to be an element of insta-love that was shrouded in complete denial, wrapped in angst, and covered in doubt. Yet, through all of that, these two manage to find a way to their HEA – and what a sweet HEA it is.
What I loved:
Quinn’s commitment to what he wants, Aaron and a future. He’s sweet under his muscly exterior, like a giant teddy bear (my favorite).
Aaron’s humor and quick wit. He has an answer for everything, even if it’s a mask to keep his heart safe.
Friends – there are so many, each with an important part in the story and they are fun to read during interactions with the main characters.
What I didn’t love:
Although this is a stand-alone book for the main couple, if you don’t read the series from book one, you may not understand some of the plot elements. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if you are choosing this one as your first read, you may struggle with some of the character interactions.
All in all, a solid four-star read.
And as always from my reviews, my top quotes of the book:
“Hearing him say his name did weird things to his heart.”:
“He was already a giant thorny mess of bouncy laughter, deep wounds, inappropriate innuendo, and zero shame. And Quinn was irresistibly drawn to this, even though it was like standing still and waiting for a tornado to rip through his carefully arranged living room.”
“Ew, average… Best for weather forecasts, not men. In any department.”
I loved that Aaron and Quinn decide to do a scientific experiment to see who was right, it has some angst and miscommunication between them.
So funny and sweet!
I loved Aaron from the previous books, he’s the sassy, slightly inappropriate, unapologetic friend everybody loves. But he’s so much more than that.
And when he meets Quinn, who’s made orderly sort of his mantra in life, you’d think the two could never gel, instead they get on like a house on fire, bringing out the best out of the other.
Their chemistry and affection in the end beats whatever reserve they might have about not giving their relationship a real chance.
Aaron is so funny and sassy that I was laughing out loud many times during the book, he certainly goes for the shock-factor most of the times; but Quinn can give as good as he gets with his dirty talk and all… after all, it’s always the quiet ones…
The small town of Hart’s Bay in Oregon is coming back to life more and more with these boys and I can’t wait to go back to it with the next HEA!
when the resident flirt Aaron gets his story!!! Floyd returns however magic happens and our unexpected visitor knows how to control Floyd. Also this visitor will be a fantastic addition to stories to come. Our flirt finds his HEA and doesn’t ever have to tone it down thankfully. Also we need to see the costume in a future book or the author needs to provide us with a little novella story for this because readers will revolt if we don’t get it (just kidding)
I love Aaron. He is sassy, full of life and love, and hidden pain. He comes so far in this story and I just want to give him hugs and be his new family.
Quinn steps up and shows Aaron big love and quiet love. He is there, honest, and all in. They both have fears, but work on fixing them.
I loved this story from start to finish. The only thing I’m missing is a swift knee to someone’s jewels. Read the story and you will understand. This time it isn’t Floyd.
Read this and I hope that you love it as much as I do.
Loved it. Could not put it down! Aaron & Quinn stole my heart & ran away with it. Arc for an honest review
I am loving Ed Davies’s Hart Bay series!!
Stolen Hart book is another excellent addition to this small town series.
Quinn and Aaron are so badly matched that they are perfect for each other.
The chemistry between the main characters is off the charts!!
This book is a well written, low angst, funny, sexy read.
Although Stolen Hart is the 4th book in the series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. But why would you, when the entire series is fantastic!!
Touching story of learning to love, trust and be yourself! It has all the best feels. I really enjoyed these MC’s and how really sweet and honest their hearts were. Both men found their missing pieces when they allowed themselves to be them with each other. The writing was beautiful and the story-line made me feel. This story will touch your heart.
I loved that we got to see the previous characters we have grown to love and that they continue to be the found family we all want. I so enjoyed my visit to this delightful town.
Aaron and Quinn’s journey was meaningful, steamy and brought out the best of both me. I was rooting for them for sure. Learning to trust that you will be chosen and loved is tough and often life is not kind. This book is a real feel good story with so much love to be found.
This is book four of the Hart Bay series and can be read as a stand-alone. I do however, recommend reading the other books in the series because they are all really good. I am looking forward to the next book!
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Good story: romps and romance to survive the holidays, but what about after?!
3.5-4stars
The way Aaron and Quinn danced around each other in the Howya Bean (great coffee house name!) until they finally started talking was a great start for this story.
I am fond of small-town settings and this town on the Oregon coast had the requisite small community rumor mill grapevine and local personalities to add to its charm. The guys were both likable, especially when contrasted with bully Byron. Aaron’s troubled experience with his parents and his rocky relationship history made him a sympathetic character who was understandably reluctant to lay himself open to more rejection or betrayal. Quinn is just an all-around nice guy and fitness devotee who still feels some insecurity about pudge he carried as a teen. The things they bring out in each other!
I did not read the earlier books in the series and that did not detract from the reading experience. I did find it a trifle slow in spots, but it’s a good story.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I loved reading Stolen Hart. It’s the fourth book in the Hart’s Bay series by E. Davies. I could not get enough of the banter between Aaron and Quinn. I hated how Quinn was treated at the one gym that he worked at as a personal trainer and I was so happy that he set up a little basic gym in Hart’s Bay for his private training clients. I’m also glad that Aaron learned how to be comfortable with who he is around Quinn’s parents cause their first dinner with his parents was awkward. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series when it comes out. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Oh wow Stolen Hart …Aaron…tears…tissues needed 🙂 it was brilliant…giggles and tears and wonder. Another wonderful heart warming read of love in a small town.
Stolen Hart is an excellent continuation of the Hart’s Bay series.
Quinn and Aaron have different and distinct personalities, which, when put together, should not work. But they do. Oh, boy, they do. The give and take in this relationship are quite entertaining to watch and made me wonder how much they would have to change to be able to stay with each other. I was pleasantly surprised by the answer.
Their backstories are enough for me to see what shaped who they are, and how far they had come by the time they got to their HEA. I felt close to both characters early on, but by the end, I was falling a little bit in love with them myself.
I laughed, I cried, I cringed, and I got angry. There are good friends, bad people, a surprising occurrence that is of interest to the whole town, and some super, duper sexy times that fogged my glasses and upped my heart rate.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to more by this author.
Another great addition to this series. I am really enjoying getting to know all of the Harts Bay boys and Quinn and Aaron are no exception. Quinn is so sweet and very, very patient with the commitment shy, Aaron. Some crossed signals and insecurities try to sabotage these two but, as always with this author, love finds a way!
No spoilers of any kind included!
Stolen Hart I thought was pure awesomeness!
E. Davies has definitely got an amazing story weaving talent because I absolutely loved Quinn and Aaron’s story!
So it’s definitely going to be a big HECK YEAH I do recommend this book to anyone wanting a fantastic book to crawl into!
*An ARC was provided by the author, publisher or a promotional service and I have chosen to publish a fair and honest review*
Stolen Hearts is the 4th book in E. Davies’ Hart’s Bay series. This fantastic group of friends in Hart’s Bay has begun to feel like family and it makes my heart happy to see each one find their perfect match. I recently binge read the other books in the series, and I was more than ready for Aaron to find his happy.
Aaron Fisher is loud, fun and always reading with a joke usually laden with sexual innuendo. He is known for his humor and promiscuity, but he is sick of being used by his family and past lovers. Quinn is the opposite in the romance department. He dates in hopes of a future but seems to be having trouble finding his match. With the new year closing in he’s about to give up hope when Aaron comes to his rescue. They decide to spend now until new years giving each other what they want. For Aaron that’s mind-blowing sex and for Quinn that’s dinners out and cuddling on the couch. Aaron hopes to convince Quinn that no strings attached is the way to go while Quinn hopes to convince Aaron that maybe love and happily ever afters do exist.
Aaron has been one of my favorites since the beginning of this series and it was great to see behind the walls he built with his sarcasm and wit. It hurt that he felt he could never be anyone’s forever guy. I adored Quinn he was such a romantic and the way he tried to show Aaron his worth was sweet, he never gave up on Aaron even when he was being stubborn. Their story was adorable. I loved seeing them push each other out of their comfort zones. I also have to mention their intimacy scenes because Oh Wow they were wonderful My biggest complaint was that I wish this didn’t have the classic miscommunication aspect to it towards the end but I guess it was inevitable. Aaron was his own worst enemy and couldn’t see what was right in front of him.
Stolen Hearts was a great addition to the Hart’s Bay series and I’m eager to find out whose book will be next!
I love the Hart’s Bay series. Aaron and Quinn are an awesome addition to the stories. They are both such love-able characters.
Reading about Aaron’s backstory just broke my heart. He’s so afraid he’s not worthy of love, having been disappointed his whole life so far.
Quinn wants love, wants to settle down with his one true love. But he’s been ruled by his parent’s wishes so far. Aaron is nothing like who they expected for Quinn.
I loved reading how these two men come together and eventually give each other what they need in their lives.
Loved catching up with the other guys from the previous stories. There are a couple of surprises from some characters in this story.
I’m already waiting with bated breath for the next story.
E. Davies just has a way with his words, making for a fantastic story. I love everyone of his books that I have read so far.
I am so glad I found E. Davies… he writes such fun romances. Aaron is the sassy, outspoken friend, in that beautiful group of guys who steamroll Hart’s Bay. He is a but broken though and finding a forever kind of love is not in his horizon. I just loved how Quinn breaks down those walls. It’s always refreshing when someone knows what he wants, romantically and is open to love. Great story for this awesome series.
