This is a quick taboo read that borders on erotic with age gap and step daddy issues, so it has a lil of everything.
Callista has been in boarding school since she was 16 comes home 2 years after her mom died only to find out she’s now the responsibility of Ruben Reynolds her step dad who’s made plans for her ever since he found out she existed and now that her mom passed away he can put his plan in motion.
This story borderlines on kinky, BDSM M/S f*ckery that has it hot and steamy moments.
If your looking for a hot quick dirty read give this one a try.
This was a short novella.
In this book we have, Callista Palmer, she is a daughter of a movie starlet who never really cared for her. Callista has been in boarding schools all of her life. Out of sight out of mind, you could say.
Ruben Reynolds, was married to Callista’s mother when she passed away. Ruben doesn’t feel the over protective urge to help his step daughter in life. But he has reached out to her and moved her from one boarding school to a new school, House of Flowers. Ruben has barely spoken with Callista and he wants her to trust him with where he is moving her.
Callista has been disobeying her training at her new school with all of her will. Ruben is being threatened that she won’t be able to continue with the school.
A few things turned me off from this book. I didn’t like how Callista is being treated with moving from one school to the next. No one is talking to her about what is going on. Ruben is supposed to be her guardian and he’s treating her more like property. Callista is too young to know what is a right and wrong way to be treated.
I wanted to like this book. It promised dark romance, the blurb was interesting. Then… I got what I got. After the prologue, I was just: WTH? Is this for real? And it only got weirder. To be honest, the author writes good, the characters were interesting and loveable albeit weird. The girl… I will just write this off to her age but she was naive, stupid, and… yeah, for me, a little bit annoying. So here comes the part that sucked big time – for me: The whole story. It was just WTF moments piled atop each other, it made absolutely no sense and it was not dark romance, it was a kinky taboo read at best. Strange and weird story with I guess with lot of steamy scenes. Honestly, I was not able to read through I was just jumping through the pages roughly. Thanks, but no thanks, although a good start for a debutee.

Stolen Flowers is a well written debut novel.
Callistas life has changed. Her mother has died and her stepfather in in charge of her trust fund. That’s not all he wants to be in charge of.
This is a short quick read. If you enjoy forbidden naughty reads then I recommend this story.
Our heroine has been sheltered her entire life, but that is about to change in a big way.
This is something of a dark romance with strong elements of D/S. I found the story to be well written and easy to read with intriguing characters. I will acknowledge that this story will not be for everyone, but I found it rather intriguing. I am definitely curious to see how it develops, so I am looking forward to the next book.

Callista is an eighteen year old girl taken to live in the House of Flowers by her step-father Ruben. She’s never met him as she has been away at school. Ruben decided to take care of her after her famous mother dies and she has no one. Callista puts up a fight but eventually ends up submissive to Ruben. A quick, dirty, steamy read.

Stolen Flowers is the debut story by Annabeth Monroe and I have to say I did enjoy it. It is shorter than a novel but longer than a novella. It has a couple of surprises in it that I did not expect. I do enjoy the forbidden so that was nice. If you do not like forbidden, different, and a little strange. This probably is not the story for you.
Annabeth has an interesting concept with this storyline and I am excited to see where she goes with it.
This was a short, dark read. I’m all for the dark and taboo, but this book needed a lot of work.
This went down the easy way. Callista was on the way out of her all girls boarding school. Her mother has just passed away and her stepfather is about to change her world completely. I liked the way her stepfather Richard decided that he wanted her and nothing else would do. So he takes her to be trained as a submissive at the infamous House of Flowers. The book gets 3.5 stars because I loved the plot and the characters and even the resolution but it was rushed. Callista’s entire training was glossed over. Her becoming closer to Iris was glossed over. The reason why her mom’s marriage was such a disaster and why she was so depressed needed more background. Great book with intense characters and a concise story.

I Give this Book a 3/5 Star Rating.
HEA(?): Yes.
Heat: 3.5/5, it’s was a little lite-er than I was expecting it to be.
Romance: 3/5
Age Gap(?): Yes!!! Love it!
Taboo-y(?): Yes-ish
Dark: This is not a Dark nor Dark-Lite Romance (to me), other readers may disagree. But this isn’t dark.
Kink: 2.5-3/5, on the lower spectrum then I was expecting as well.
Pacing: This Book is a little uneven in its pacing, a little too fast or a little too slow for a short read.
The story isn’t too bad, but I kinda feel like the plot felt…shallow and easy, there’s no real depth to the story so it kinda has a unbelievable feel to it, which is what usually happens when stories are much too short.
I look forward to reading Kellan’s book, I hope it’s a much longer read.

I am not against the premise of “Stolen Flowers”, because it is a story about training a submissive after her mother dies. The last stepfather has inherited her care, and he has every intention of making her “flowers” his alone. I wish there was more detail into her past as well as why this man was left as her guardian. There were several points In the book that I kept thinking, there is no way that this could be happening.
I am not totally enthralled with this book, but it does have potential if it would be possible to give more detail in the background and the reasoning behind the actions of the stepfather. You do end up with an intriguing situation after the “training “, but I really want more detail.

Stolen Flowers by Annabeth Monroe is the story of Callista who lost her mother and her step-father Ruben, who is her mother’s 4th husband is now wanting to take charge of her. They hadn’t met but he has now arrived to take her to the ‘House of Flowers’ where they train women to be submissive to men. Of course she tries to stand her ground but Ruben is mind set on this. This read might not be for everyone since this does have a young women being trained to be a sub servant to a man along with the dispensary actions. Overall a quick hot read.
A quick & steamy & naughty read.
Ruben was married to Callista’s mother for a couple of years – he was her fourth husband. When he finds out his wife had a daughter, he becomes a bit obsessed. He wants to take care of her. Then when his wife dies, he knows he has to.
She’s quite reluctant, a bit defiant, and a lot childish…until she receives the proper training to suit Ruben’s needs when the time comes.
I must’ve been in a mood when I decided to sign up for this, because this type of read is normally not my cup of tea. I’d say it was because I’m a sucker for taboo and I was definitely intrigued.
Unfortunately, I didn’t feel a connection to the characters, though was very curious and wanted to know their story and how it would end.
I will say this, I love reading new-to-me authors and I’m happy to be able to suggest this one to my reader friends who I think might like it. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to read an early copy.
Dark romance? IMHO, no.
Taboo? Yes.
Kink? Yes.
I’ve read lots of dark romance and I don’t feel this story fits into that category.
I think for those readers who like the Master/submissive/toy/plaything kink, they definitely will get enjoyment out of this.
A morsel of dark entertainment. This short story is for debauched palates that still crave a happy ending.
What I liked about this novella is that it’s a series based on different couples and a sophisticated, provocative place called House of Flowers where young women are trained to become willing pets for their lustful Masters.
It sounds naughty and exciting.
Callista, the female character, ends up there through some tearful and unfair circumstances under the shadow of an unloving mother and the will of a stern stepfather.
Most of the story deals with her training, humiliation, sensual control, and her transforming from bratty to a submissive who is the happiest by pleasing that man so forbidden and alpha.
It is well written, far from shy in depicting intimate couplings, and Ruben, the male character, takes all from her while also giving her a sort of freedom that comes from fulfilling the deepest desires.
I liked reading the story, though I am not much into slaves and Masters. It’s not exactly romantic, but the characters end up really happy and sated, so there’s that. And there’s a glimpse of what is to come with the next character. Sounds intriguing.
Callista lost her mother to an overdose and now didn’t know what was going to happen. She was at boarding school and at the of 16 her stepfather told her she had to stay another 2 years. From there she went to the House of Flowers conditioning, training and obedience was the #1 rule. To be the perfect toy for her master. Ruben her stepfather decided all the training would be done by him. One day Rube told Callista that he would be gone for 3 months and then her would return. In that 3 month time frame she listened and adhered to Iris so she would be the perfect toy. Upon the day Ruben returned her life would change and both of them would have the HEA.
