Stolen by Darkness: The Dark Fae Trilogy Book by Samantha Britt is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series for me to read. I can not wait to read the next book in this series and I highly recommend this to everyone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. Also this author is new to me, but won’t be for long.
Holy shiznet!!! I couldn’t put it down. I was grabbed from the start and held within it’s grasp until the end. Sera is kidnapped by the Seelie and forced into some sort of contest and losing her memory. I can’t wait to read the next story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
The story has some good twists. She always knew she was different from others but had no idea just how different.
The reveal of all the secrets about her parents really change her life. She has two men that are determined to have her and tough choices to make.
I liked her strength and determination. She wasn’t going to give in or give up. She also wasn’t looking for a hero.
I enjoyed it and look forward to more.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
Exciting new Dark Fae Trilogy!
“Stolen by Darkness” is a new “Dark Fae Trilogy” and the story leaps out at you from the first page to the last. This plot-driven storyline is amazingly dark, authentic and realistic; the world-building scenes are vivid and well-developed. Sera is the perfect quirky main character and heroine in this tale. The drama, action, and adventure are totally engaging and exciting. I loved this tale and anticipate enjoying the next book in this trilogy. I highly recommend this tale.

I received an electronic copy of the book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The story started a little slow for me, but by chapter four the action grabbed me by the shoulders and I was in it for the remainder of the book. I then didn’t put the book down until I was at the end! I enjoy the way the author continues to portray and develop young women protagonists in her stories. Even when there are fantastical, or fairytale qualities, these women come off the page as very real. No one has it all together, deals with insecurities, and yet I never feel as if they cross over into the annoying/needy/unreadable characters. Everyone has flaws, but how they learn with/from them is an exciting part of the journey.
In this adventure, Sera has never felt “normal” because of the strange beings she can see, which no one else can. She’s adapted and learned to deal with it….and for the most part is a regular young woman attending college, working a job, and trying to figure out what to do with her life. Unbeknownst to her, she has many ties to the “fairytale” world of the Fae Courts. Sera is kidnapped, has her memory wiped, and forced to train in combat with other young women who all share similar characteristics who will be used by others to accomplish a goal they themselves (captors) cannot do. Throughout, Sera continues to develop and hold true to who she is (rather than what others are grooming her to be) and continues to learn that there are good and bad “peoples” in every society.
There are others with Sera in the story, but the focal point is on Sera’s journey. This is the third series by Samantha Britt that I’m reading, and I’m never disappointed. Each world has great attention to detail, and characters are developed and rounded out well. Sometimes the development requires the arc of the series, which has been great fun for me to read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend to anyone who enjoys grounded characters who navigate in fantastical worlds. I look forward to the remainder of the series, as well as others by Samantha as she is on my list of authors to watch/follow.
Man, this is such a great start to the series! I love how the story unwinds in a way that allows the reader to speculate about what’s really going on. We’re given bits and pieces of information, but not the whole story. For me, it really kept me hooked in the story because my ideas and theories just kept changing, and I had to know what happened next! Also, it really adds to the mystery and intrigue of the world, and of Sera’s situation. A few of my questions were definitely answered, but there are a still few remaining, and I can’t wait to see what book two will answer, and what questions are left for book three!

Let me start off by saying i did like this book and the direction it was going BUT I felt like there needed to be more. I found myself expecting Sera to have to work harder for information or waiting for more to happen for characters to have a bond. Having 98% percent of the Fae/human guy’s act the same way was a little hard to get use to and the fact that all this girl had to do was exist and so many wanted to do everything for her was confusing. Although I felt like this book was incomplete I am glad I read it.

ONE PHENOMENAL THRILL RIDE!!!
Magnificent! Samantha breaks the pleasure barriers in this high octane, block busting bombshell, ratcheting up the thrill level with such exuberance and fervor, throwing this baby into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, blasting it into a tailspin with a stunning culmination. Boasting impressive scenario’s, that punch dead center, ramping up the zeal and delight with such intensity and precision, fusing this bad boy together piece by piece. Bracing for all the drama, intrigue, deceit, danger and soaring suspense while tension spirals, thrusting this jewel to life spectacularly. Carefully treading the trials and tribulations, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The characters are original and realistic with qualities and depth that blend and balance transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it’s easy to envision each detail as they play off one another perfectly. Awesome job Samantha, thanks for sharing this jewel with us.
This book was a little slow to begin with, but I think that was needed to help set the story. It soon picked up the pace. Sera has a lot to learn about herself and the people around her… They haven’t been entirely honest with her. I look forward to finding all of that out with her. This book has left me intrigued and I can’t wait to carry on with Sera’s adventure and see where it takes her next! I really enjoyed this book.
*ARC received in return for an honest review*.
„Stolen by Darkness“ by Samantha Britt is the first book of “The Dark Fae Trilogy”, a young adult fantasy series portraying just about any Fae in the realm. Our heroine, Serafina is about as naïve and clueless as they come, and that makes her a lovable and easy to care for.
Sera has never been totally normal, she has the tendency to see things others don’t and to find herself in strange situations, just like right now, as she unknowingly ends up into the Fae realm after being kidnapped out of college and must accept that her goal of becoming a nurse simply will not be. The rescue attempt by her friends fails and she ended up into the Seelie Court with no memories (courtesy of her friends, that think it would make things easier for her) other than her name and age, and what she is supposed to study at school. Right after her arrival she unexpectedly stumbles upon the Prince regent and from them on the fairy tale evolves, a modern take on fairy tale nevertheless. At school Sera has to train for some unexplained competition with the rest of her peers. As finally the purpose of the competition is revealed, Sera learns that the winner, will not only be able to control the Darkness, thus protecting the Seelie court, but will also gain the hand of the Prince, which of course is a plus, as the Prince seems also interesting in her. The quest is complex and very dangerous and have already claim the lives of every participant in the six times that has been already held.
As the plot thickens and the story evolves Sera discovers hidden facts about her own past and has to fight for her life, not only to win the power over the Darkness and the Prince, but also to be able to return to her own world and her family.
The story is well written, has an interesting plot, enjoyable characters with a mixture of classic fairy-tale and modern twist. Perfect for fans of “The Hunger Games” and “The Atlantis Grail” that wish a light romantic fantasy would take on the genre.
Amazing, dark, full of action and 2 sexy Fae royalty, are just the icing on the cake!
A thrilling storyline, with characters that are a lot of fun and world building that takes your imagination right into the heart of the story!
Serafina “Sera” Roberts is a exciting MC with quirks that made me love her character that much more!
Can’t wait to read the next book!
