I don’t want him.
I can’t do this.
That’s what my ex said after our son was born, leaving me a single dad.
These days, my world consists of two things: Noah and my bar.
Until her—the woman I want —but can never have.
My ex’s sister wasn’t supposed to be stirred into the mix.
Even though I try to push her away, my son falls in love with her.
As much as I want to keep my distance, I can’t break … love with her.
As much as I want to keep my distance, I can’t break his heart.
Lines become blurred, and fighting our attraction becomes nearly impossible.
Even though we know it’s wrong, desire doesn’t always fade away.
As soon as we cross that line, nothing will be the same and everything will fall apart.
And it does.

I found this book through the free compilation, ‘Small Town Ever After’ and I finished this part of the compilation in one sitting. I loved everything about their relationship, the complicated parts and all. It was an amazing read and another definite recommend from me.
This is the 2nd book I read by Charity Ferrell. The only thing I liked about this story is Noah. The rest of this story didn’t interest me.
So I’ve had this for a while but then I saw Charity’s tik tok about this book & it hooked me to start reading. I genuinely couldn’t put it down. I read it in it’s entirety in less than 24 hours because I loved it so much. It’s such a captivating story with lovable characters. Cohen and Jamie’s story is a unique one but honestly really great. Their slow burn was perfectly executed with their will they/won’t they throughout the book. I was a little bothered about their back and forth so much, I wanted to scream JUST DATE ALREADY. But I’m also very impatient. They had a lot of obstacles in their way so I do understand the back and forth, and being a single parent myself it was nice to see Cohen’s heart was always in the right place; worrying about the effect on his son. Ferrell did an amazing job of tapping into the mind of a single parent and including Noah so much in the story. It’s too often theres a single parent romance where the child is barely mentioned or thought of and this does not do that. I LOVED the world building, seeing so many side characters I know are the focus of next books is so great to me. The attention to detail is perfect and kept me wanting to read more. Except heather, screw her. She was the villain you loved to hate, I kept waiting for her to pop up and each time she did I had so much emotion. To me, thats what makes a great writer, if they can make me feel something and Ferrell did just that. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves romance and wants a new take on an unusual situation.
Great chemistry between Cohen and Jamie. The story pulls you in. Couldn’t stop reading it. Now on to the next one in the series.
This was a great book. I truly enjoyed it.
When fate united the family, it raised an impossible situation. An opportunity of being happy together was something Cohen thought was a lie. Jamie also took the risk of showing her true feelings, so she went for what she wanted. Indeed, the issue was to take action for them; just let’s go and search for it.
Charity Ferrell gave us an impressive lovely journey of how to be happy when everything went wrong in life initially. Family drama, fears, hidden desires, and passion mixed up wonderfully, to lead us to overcome past mistakes and to be happy loving everyone. ¡A must-read book that pulls you in and never lets you go!
Dr. Jamie Gentry was once Cohen Fox’s girlfriend’s geeky, younger sister. But in the five years since he last saw her, she’s grown into a beautiful woman. Too bad the history between him and his ex’s family makes him less than thrilled to see her again when she steps through the door at the hospital. The patient in question is Cohen’s five year old son Noah, the same one Jamie’s sister abandoned shortly after birth, the one her parents pushed to adopt from him.
Jamie has been longing to know her only nephew, but his father made it clear he’s uninterested in fostering a relationship between them. Her only in when it comes to building a family is the fact that she’s a doctor and Noah’s sick enough for her to make a house call to follow up on him.
The tension of old wounds begin to melt away, leaving behind a new kind of pull that draws Jamie and Cohen together. But is there too much history between them to make it all work?
I’m usually not one for romances that involve kids, but the reviews were so good on this book, I had to get it. Noah was written really well and didn’t have that stereotypical “precocious kiddo who wants a new mom” vibe that I’ve read before. Ferrell managed to keep him sounding and acting as a normal child, so I was able to focus on the romance.
Cohen and Jamie’s backstory made for a complicated, messy, and painful beginning. They each had their own lives following their dreams, but both were missing something vital only the other could give. I was rooting for them after the first few chapters and just waiting for one of them to give it.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and since it’s only book one in a five part series, so far, I’ll have plenty to do when I’m up all night.
I really enjoyed this book. Good character development and story development. Love the twist
**3.5 stars**
Cohen is one hot, single dad.
Heather is the loathsome, heartless ex who left him and their baby.
Jamie is Heather’s sister who enters Cohen & Noah’s lives five years later.
Enter tension and anger and fear, reluctance, giving in, and some unwanted, forbidden, yet undeniable attraction.
I knew after reading the blurb, this was going to be an angsty read. I expected it. I wanted it. I got it.
When Jamie treats Noah at the hospital, things get awkward pretty quickly. Since this is the first time she’s ever seen her 5-year old nephew, it’s understandable when tempers flare.
I adored Noah, he stole a piece of my heart. Watching Jamie getting to know him and seeing their relationship grow was heartwarming.
I did really enjoyed many things about this story. The writing, the idea of the story, and most of the characters (but not Heather, LOL.)
I despised Heather. She was a dreadful human being. She wasn’t likable at all, which is probably the author’s goal. And I wasn’t too fond of her parents either. Their expectations of Jamie were unfair and made me wish Jamie would’ve stood up for herself a bit more. She is a grown woman, with a successful career as a doctor. I did not enjoy, nor agree with the way she handled some things. To me, it took away some of her credibility. But thank goodness she came to her senses toward the end.
All in all though, I’m glad I read this.
It was my first read from Ms. Ferrell.
Did I love it? Not as much as I wanted to.
Will I read more from this author?
Yes, definitely!
I was intrigued by Georgia and Asher’s relationship and look forward to find out their story.
I absolutely loved this book. Cohen’s girlfriend, Heather, left him with their newborn baby and gave up her rights as a mother. Fast forward 5 years Heather’s sister Jamie is working in the ER and goes to see a patient who happens to be Cohen’s son Noah. It takes a bit but Cohen begins to welcome Jamie into their lives. Then it begins a slow burn attraction between the two, trying their hardest to resist each other due to the circumstances. You can feel the heat between the two, and it is not just a physical thing, their emotional connection is just as strong. Jamie also developed the sweetest bond with Noah. The author did an amazing job writing the villain, I don’t think I have ever hated a character as much as I hate Heather! A lot of unnecessary back and forth happened before the HEA but it kept me wanting to keep reading. There was a glimpse into the next book that I didn’t even waste a second thinking about buying. Overall this was one of the greatest reads I have read this year.
Captivating and romantic. I like how the relationship starts then builds into a fire. Not fire right away. I love each characters growth. Awesome ending too.
Loved the story. Wasn’t sure if a 3.5 or 4 was what I wanted but just rounded up. This is because honestly after knowing everything her sister did to Cohen for her to break his heart and REPEATEDLY walk away was annoying to me. I understood the complications. It’s hard and messy. That’s life. But honestly it must be a testament to how much he cared for her because he never held it against her. Mildly maybe. He would kick her out and be pissed at the time she pulled these stunts but then relent as soon as he would see her again. Her sister heather is evil. Purely selfish and evil and only cared about herself. And honestly I hated that it took the whole book before her parents got a clue. Loved that we got a glimpse at blue beech series residents!
I loved this book. Cohen gets a bum deal when his girlfriend decides she doesn’t want to be a mother and wants him to sign their child away. As a result Cohen becomes a single father. Jamie comes into their lives when Noah becomes ill and Cohen takes him to the hospital starting a journey that will have several emotional twists. In the end they will come full circle in spite of the circumstances that stood in their way.
I really enjoyed this story by Charity! Jamie was cute and headstrong, always putting others before herself. Cohen was hot and a good single dad. I loved the chemistry and the push and pull of falling in love. I can’t wait to read more by Charity!
4.5 “Sprinkles” Stars
I can never resist a single dad romance, so when I first read the blurb of Stirred, I was already interested. Add to the mix the sister’s ex trope and I was really intrigued. This was my first time reading Charity Ferrell and now I’m hooked. This book was a pleasant surprise!
Jamie’s big sister broke Cohen’s heart five years earlier when she left him and their newborn son. Needless to say there’s some tension between Jamie and him when they have a chance encounter at the hospital where she’s a doctor. Jamie is determined to finally know her nephew, but Cohen is uneasy about letting her into their lives. After all the heartbreak, he doesn’t want his son, Noah, to suffer more.
I enjoyed how their relationship progresses slowly and beautifully. Jamie becomes a huge part of Noah’s life, and by seeing her more and more, Cohen starts to see her with new eyes. Their attraction is potent, but with their history, they’re resisting the pull between them. They share flirty and sweet moments together, that eventually leads to sexy ones. There’s also emotional parts of their rocky romance that made me teary-eyed with all the conflicting feelings Jamie experiences with Cohen being her sister’s ex.
Noah is the cutest little boy. I adored his funny repartee and how sweet he is with Jamie. The connection they effortlessly build is truly beautiful. Cohen is just as amazing with his son, always putting him first and their bond is utterly touching.
As I previously stated, Stirred being my first read from this author, I’m now looking forward to read more of her books. I loved the cast from the Twisted Fox Series so much and can’t wait to discover their stories too. But I’m also interested about the characters from the Blue Beech Series that are also mentioned vaguely. Guess I have a lot of reading to catch on to!
Stirred by Charity Ferrell focuses on Jamie, an ER doctor, and Cohen, a single father who co-owns a popular sports bar. They have a difficult history between them, as Jamie’s older sister Heather once dated Cohen for many years, only to leave him with their son Noah when she leaves him for another man. As a result, Cohen is angry at the whole family, and does not allow Noah to meet his aunt Jamie or his grandparents. When Noah is sick and arrives at Jamie’s ER, Cohen and Jamie meet again and old feelings resurface.
Though Jamie is the younger sister, she has always had a crush on Cohen, but it hasn’t gone anywhere because of his relationship with Noah. Jamie is kind, always in the shadow of her troublesome sister, and desperately wants to get to know Noah. She feels guilty for Heather leaving Noah and Cohen, and in a way she wants to make up for her sister’s shortcomings. In addition, Jamie shared a passionate kiss with Cohen in her youth once when she had too much to drink at a party, though Cohen let her down gently. Nevertheless, Jamie’s held on to this one kiss and she’s carried a torch for Cohen all this time. Cohen on the other hand, has immense anger towards Heather, and that translates towards Jamie and her family. He resents them for offering to adopt Noah when he was born, and he finds insult in the fact that Heather’s parents didn’t think he can support his own son.
There is so much baggage that Cohen carries around, especially this anger towards his ex Heather. Jamie and Cohen are also worried about what people would think, the fact that Cohen once dated Heather. I feel that Cohen is more likely to let this go, but Jamie constantly worries about this idea, about what other people or her parents will think if they are together. It takes time for Jamie and Cohen to admit their feelings for each other, and it takes a whole village effort (Noah, Cohen’s sister, Jamie’s dad) for them to recognize their feelings for each other.
Single parent romances are always a yes for me. This one is unique because it adds a bit of a forbidden element. How hot is it that our hero is a bar owner and our heroine a doctor?
Our couple has a variety of hurtles to jump. Family and a sweet little boy wrap around this story. As you travel down its road plan to appreciate and fall in love with the journey.
Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
In typical Charity Farrell fashion, she knows how to suck you in from literally the first page. Actually no, this didn’t suck me in from the first page- it was the cover. This is my favorite cover to date!! It captures everything that is Jamie and Cohen.
This slow burn gives you all feels. The chemistry between these 2 is hot AF and it will make you wonder how these two ever weren’t together.
I love seeing familiar faces of her other stories through this book and can’t wait to see what’s next.
Georgia and Archer were both so frustratingly amazing, this book had me shaking my fist at them from the very beginning!! Archer for being so closed off and hard headed about love and letting anyone in, although he did have good reason to. And Georgia for putting up with him and his crap from the beginning. haha but in all honesty I was able to look past it when they both finally came to their senses. The chemistry between these two was so hot, so that helped too.
Really enjoyed this book though but really recommend reading Stirred first. It does help you to meet the other characters, and Shaken helps lead into more potential love stories from Charity Ferrell.
Seriously!!!! Seriously!!!! Can you say light a match and watch the whole thing burn??? This was a hot and longing love story that will keep you on your toes and pry oit your heart at the same time. Charity dug deep for this masterpiece of excellence!!!
Cohen and Jamie together was electric. You could feel the tension in each and every word. It was like electricity finding its best asset. It was beyond words. These two made me fall in love with “Love” all over again. The way Jamie buried her soul into Noah and Cohen was absolutely timeless and enlightening. You felt it strong. And Little Noah was a huge bonus!!
