I don’t want him.
I can’t do this.
That’s what my ex said after our son was born, leaving me a single dad.
These days, my world consists of two things: Noah and my bar.
Until her—the woman I want —but can never have.
My ex’s sister wasn’t supposed to be stirred into the mix.
Even though I try to push her away, my son falls in love with her.
As much as I want to keep my distance, I can’t break … love with her.
As much as I want to keep my distance, I can’t break his heart.
Lines become blurred, and fighting our attraction becomes nearly impossible.
Even though we know it’s wrong, desire doesn’t always fade away.
As soon as we cross that line, nothing will be the same and everything will fall apart.
And it does.

Stirred shakes up the heart while putting the hormones on high alert. Cohen and Jamie are one heartbreak short of a country song. Love is never easy and Ferrell refuses to gloss over the pain to get to the happily ever after. Cute and steamy give emotions quite a beating but the beauty of hope never stopped lighting the way.
I love love loved this book! I loved the characters (except Heather the hoe bag), I love the storyline, & I loved the love! I’ve never read any of Charity’s books before but she’s got a new fan for life from me.
First off I love a good single dad romance, their always so fierce & protective & I really really like that. Secondly love the name Cohen & Noah. These two were absolutely adorable together & I sided with Cohen throughout the entire book.
Jamie, sometimes family sucks & you can’t change the family your born into but you can create your own family from friends. Jamie was strong, independent, definite people pleaser & I like that she had a strong job.
These two were perfect together! I guess I should say these three were perfect together I’m really really looking forward to the rest of the gangs stories because this crew had me laughing & I can already see the pairings coming & I can’t wait!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
Ok… so, normally I wouldn’t be interested in a sibling’s ex story- but since it’s a Charity Ferrell book I thought I would chance it. And boy, am I glad that I did.
It’s super sweet. The sexual tension-the want and the longing- made it absolutely riveting.
Single dad? Yes, please!
Awesome secondary characters? Check.
Do I want their stories as well? Also check.
Lacy and Gregory did a great job with narration.
Charity never disappoints and I loved Stirred! I was instantly interested in Cohen, Jamie, Noah, Georgia, Lola, Grace, Finn, Archer, and Silas when they made a cameo appearance in the Blue Beech series. It was clear there was a lot going on in their group and so many stories could come out of it. When Charity confirmed that there would be a new spin-off series with these cast of characters, I was pumped! Of course, I was ready to read this book and I’m so glad I got the chance to read it a little early!
From the start, Jamie and Cohen had chemistry. It was clear that they had feelings for each other but because of their past and the person that tied them together, they knew they couldn’t go there. I understood that until I learned what crappy person Heather was and her feelings didn’t need to be taken into consideration for anything. I thought the pacing of Stirred–though torturous–was perfect for this book. Nothing could happen too fast or it really wouldn’t have felt realistic. Jamie and Cohen kept their relationship with Noah in the beginning, avoiding each other. Jamie was walking on eggshells willing to do what she can so that Cohen didn’t shut her out of her nephew’s life again and Cohen was fighting an attraction that he shouldn’t be having for his ex-girlfriend’s little sister. But slowly, they built up a friendship and tried to do everything in their power not to mess things up for Noah who was head over heels for Jamie from the moment he met her. When things finally tipped and they gave in to their passions, ghosts from the past came barrelling back into their lives making an already complicated situation a cluster-f*ck. This is Charity’s MO. As soon as you think things are working out for the couple you’ve spent half the book rooting for and they finally get together, some monkey-wrench is thrown into the mix that makes the relationship stalled. Jamie and Cohen had to figure out what to do next once things got complicated. This is the part of the book where I was swearing and talking out loud like the characters could hear me and wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. I wanted Jamie to stop being so freaking nice and go for what was hers. In the end, she figured it out and they were able to make it work even though it’s a convoluted and weird situation, they get their heads out of there asses and get together.
I loved Noah! That little dude was so funny and such a sweetheart. There was no way not to fall head over heels for him and he overtook the scenes when he was on the page. Georgia–Cohen’s younger sister–was one of my favorite characters too. She was spunky, protective, loyal, and had so much love for the people she cared about (I cannot wait for her story!). I’m excited to learn more about Grace, Lola, Silas, Finn, and Archer. I think Jamie is kicking Chloe and Sierra out of number one spot for the favorite heroine from a Charity Ferrell book. She had the biggest heart and cared so much that it made me upset that she let her family dictate what she did. She was funny and I loved how something crazy was always coming out of her mouth. I loved Cohen and he’s in the top three of favorite heroes that I’ve read from Charity’s books. I thought he was an amazing dad who only wanted what was best for his kid. He loved hard and did not forgive easily. I loved his relationship with Georgia and seeing him with his friends. Heather was the worst that’s all I’ll say.
Stirred was such a good book that I had a hard time putting down once I picked it up. It had everything that a good romance needs: angst, humor, steam, sweet & swoony moments, and a kid. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! I am excited about this series and I’m going to be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one!
*I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
I absolutely enjoyed this book!!!
Single dad romance – who can say no to this???
Cohen, dad to 5yo Noah, meets his exes sister again when he visits the ER with his son. He wants nothing to do with Jamie at first, but relents.
Jamie gets him to let her see her nephew and so the fireworks begins to spark!
I loved seeing some people from the Blue Beech Series (which I loved) which made this story feel so familiar. The chemistry between these two is hot.
I sense some awesome upcoming stories in the near future!
This book was full of everything that I love to see in a book. Jaime is an ER doctor working one night when Cohen comes in with his sick son. Tempers flare when they see one another and things can only get worse. Or better?
Read this amazing story and find out how these two know one another and the twists and turns they take together.
I absolutely love reading forbidden stories and Stirred by Charity Ferrell gave us a single and his ex’s sister. Definitely off limits. But when his son falls for her, what can he do? Cohen’s life is his son, Noah, and his bar. Noah’s mother left a bitter taste for him when she walked out on them. But when they run into Jaime years later, she wants to be a part of her nephew’s life. But soon they discover there is more between them, but it is forbidden, right?
I loved the characters, their chemistry and their journey so much. I loved the single dad romance with a forbidden twist and angst. Stirred by Charity Ferrell is a must-read!
Read and reviewed for Reviews From the Heart.
Happy reading!
Cohen is the co-owner of the Twisted Fox who is trying to run the bar and be a single father to his son after his ex left him just after Noah was born. Cohen is still bitter about the way things transpired with his ex that when Noah ends up in the ER and Jamie, his ex’s sister, is the one attending to his son he is not happy, to say the least. Jamie has been trying to get Cohen to allow her to see her nephew and when they end up in the ER she sees this as her opportunity to try and get Cohen to allow her into her nephew’s life. Noah falls in love with Jamie even though Cohen attempts to push her away which has Cohen not wanting to break his son’s heart.
Stirred is the beginning of the Twisted Fox series and is a single dad, forbidden romance. The characters, other than Heather who I could not stand, are very likeable and this was a good start to the series.

New Series and it is off with a bang! (Not that way )
Charity Ferrell is introducing us to the crew from the Twisted Fox. This first book is Cohen’s story.
Cohen has popped up in other Charity Ferrell books with bits of his backstory, however this is finally his book.
Cohen is a single dad to Noah whose mom walked out of the picture and their lives the day Noah was born. Cohen cut ties with his ex’s family completely. Which works, for about 5 years.
The night that Cohen has to take Noah to the ER for an illness his ex’s sister walks in as the attending physician. The tension starts between the two adults right there and keeps going through out the rest of the book.
Jamie was the little sister who had a huge crush on her older sister’s boyfriend. Now she just wants to see her nephew.
Cohen opens up and lets Jamie into Noah’s life, and his, bit by bit. Eventually Cohen finds himself falling in love with Jamie. Just as Cohen and Jamie decide to give a relationship a go, Jamie’s sister (Cohen’s ex and Noah’s mom) barges back in with a dramatic flair.
The story was a pretty straight forward, trope wise, as you have enemies to lovers with a bit of forbidden love mixed in. The characters and dialogue make this story hum.
Cohen has his little sister Georgia in the picture along with his business partners Archer and Finn. This was a great introductory book to these characters as well. They weren’t forced into the story line, but appeared seamlessly in different pieces and gave us glimpses of who they are.
Jamie and Georgia become friends during Stirred which gives us a great peek into what may happen in Shaken which will be out later this year (and clear up the Georgia/Archer situation) Shaken will be book 2 in the Twisted Fox series.
Charity does a great job through Stirred in throwing in family tension and stress with the reappearance of Jamie’s older sister as well as parental pressure and opinions. Additionally, she writes Jamie’s struggle with her emotions and situation very well.
I really enjoyed this book and found it to be a quick read. It kept me turning pages to see what would pop up next. If you’re looking for a new series to start for your summer reading, this one would top my list. There is still a lot of story to go down at the Twisted Fox. Based on Stirred, I’d guess that the stories are going to go deeper and more will unravel for this little group of friends and their bar.
So, we “met” the characters when they appeared in Just Roommates, book five of the Blue Beech series, and already with the little bit we got of Cohen and Noah’s story, I was ready to read that book, it hadn’t even been written yet but I was ready! Cohen has had it rough; not so hot childhood, and his one long term relationship ended with him holding their baby and her walking out the door. He made sure that all ties were cut with his son’s mother, including her family. When Cohen ends up having to take Noah to the ER the last person he expected to see is Jamie, Noah’s maternal aunt. There are sparks there, but understandably there is no trust. Cohen can’t let Jamie in, what if she ends up breaking Noah’s heart, Cohen can’t let that happen. But the guilt of withholding something more for Noah comes through and he relents, giving Jamie an opening to get to know Noah. During the process, Cohen and Jamie also get to know each other better and the sparks they had before are even stronger. Just when they decide to take it that one step further…. the past comes back to haunt them.
This was such a good story! With some really good drama, some hot naughty bits, a few shocks along the way; I gobbled this story up in no time. There was a moment or two where I really didn’t feel like the whole thing was that big a deal considering the time line but that’s just me. I give this 5 stars.
Stirred is the first book of an all new series. Though, Cohen and the Twisted Fox crew have made little appearances in the Blue Beech series.
Cohen is the owner of the Twisted Fox and he is also a single father. He works hard so his son, Noah, can have the life he didn’t. His sister, Georgia, and his friends are supportive and help Cohen. Jamie is an ER doctor, she was always the geeky type and worked hard in school. Her older sister, Heather, just so happens to be Cohen’s ex and Noah’s mother.
There is some forbiddenness when it comes to Cohen and Jamie’s relationship. She is Noah’s aunt, though he doesn’t know it, and she is the younger sister of Cohen’s ex-girlfriend. However, these two had some chemistry, though they both denied it for a while. Jamie starting coming around more, she formed a great relationship with Noah and Cohen’s sister, Georgia.
Jamie and Cohen’s relationship was full of ups and downs. They both struggled with their connection to each other throughout the story, but they can only deny each other for so long. With Noah being involved neither of them wanted to hurt him, because while he didn’t know the truth, he fell in love with Jamie just like his father.
I completely fell in love with Cohen, Jamie and especially, Noah. I loved their bond to each other. I can’t wait to see more of them, plus get some more details on some of their others in their group….*cough cough* G & A (I’m sure I’m not the only one dying to know more!).
If you love single dad romances, with a hint of forbidden romance, with a great group of secondary characters this one is for you and a MUST READ!
Stirred gets the new Twisted Fox series off to a fantastic start and I already want more!
Single dad Cohen has two things in his life, his bar and his son. After his wife decided to up and disappear, he cuts his ex’s family from his life and moves on building a life for him and his son. When he ends up in the ER with Noah the very last person he’s expecting to see his is ex’s sister Jamie. Doctor Jamie is even more surprised than Cohen to see her nephew after so long. Understandably Cohen is reluctant to let anyone close to Noah but Jamie isn’t an easy woman to say no to. Slowly lines become blurred the more they get to know each other and as much as they both know they need to stay away, it gets harder by the day.
I loved Cohen and Jamie. I’m a sucker for a single dad and I loved everything about Cohen the dad. Jamie is impossible to dislike. She’s kind, caring, the complete opposite of her sister (who really got my blood pumping, she’s awful) and there’s something about her that draws you to her. This is a great book, I don’t think I put it down at all once I’d picked it up. I can’t wait for more from the Twisted Fox series!
Oh my gosh you guys! This book was magic! It was pure break my heart, melt my heart, put my heart back together again gold! Jamie and Cohen’s story is gut wrenching at first , but then it gives way to this phenomenally beautiful journey of love, and healing at the same time. Cohen and Jamie’s story is anything but a traditional boy meets girl romance.
From the outside looking in these are two people who are so wrong for each other for many reasons, but from the moment the ran back into each other after five years of not seeing each other everything about them was inevitable. They simply completed each other, even when they didn’t realize it. They unknowingly made this perfect little family with Noah. There were hold ups though, for both of them. For Cohen the ultimate betrayal and hurt prevent him from seeing the potential of what’s right in front of him. But for Jamie if she gave in to what’s always been there it could cost her every one she cares about.
I don’t want to give any spoilers about this book y’all. It was a really different twist on a forbidden love story.
This single parent romance was full of heart and soul. Charity Farrell packed it full of characters we couldn’t help but to fall instantly in love with and I’m begging for all of their stories. This story brought me to tears so many times. I laughed with these characters and I cried for them. I fanned myself off from the overwhelming heat and sexiness the radiated. I wanted to jump through the kindle and throttle some of them quite a few times. But mostly I rooted and rooted for them.
I wanted for Cohen and Jamie to be able to fight all the odds stacked against them and be able to make a family with Noah. Will they be able to kick aside all the Heather’s and the “Sprinkle Heirs” of their world and make a go at it or will the pressure be too much for them to handle.
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!

-GAH!! Perfect blend of hotness and sweet!! Cohen and Jamie couldn’t be any hotter They were EVERYTHING!! Deliciously dirty sexy times!!
Cliffhanger Warning-No cliffhanger! My kinda HEA right there! I can’t wait for more from this series!
This was a great read!! A great storyline, well written and super likeable characters.
It was so much fun watching these two deal with old, new feelings and a cute little five year old that draws them all together. Of course, there are a few bumps in the road that had me on the edge of my seat but I’ll keep those to myself. It is well written and I couldn’t put it down until I was done. I definitely look forward to any future books in this series.
This is the 1st in a new series and what a fantastic beginning this story is! Cohen is a single dad and co-owner of the Twisted Fox bar, and when his son is rushed into the ER, he is upset to see that the attending doctor is Jamie, his ex’s sister. To say I hated Heather with a passion is an understatement! Will Cohen realise that Jamie is nothing like her sister and give her a chance? This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout as well as having angst, drama, and love. I was hooked and intrigued throughout and cannot wait to read more in this addictive series. I highly recommend for all readers.
Oh boy is this going to be a fun series! What a great introduction to the characters to the Twisted Fox series. I love that we get a little glimpse at the dynamics and relationships that are brewing. Their is a lot of pent up sexual frustration going on lol.
Now let’s talk about Cohen and Jamie and how utterly perfect they are together. Despite being one of the awkwardest of situations, the whole he is your sisters ex and the father of the child she abandoned thing, the spark that ignites between the two after five years is pretty hot. Not to mention how cute Jamie and Noah are together. Now I love my Blue Beech gang but this Twisted Fox Gang seems to be just as promising. I absolutely cannot wait for Archer and Georgia’s story. It’s going to be a crazy one.
Also yeah for a cameo from both Lauren and Maliki!
**I was generously provided with a advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review**
Gosh I love reading single dad romances! Cohen is the doting dad who just wants the best for his son, Noah. His personal dating life has taken a back seat while he has worked on raising his son and running his bar.
When Noah gets sick, Cohen takes him into the hospital and in walks Jamie – his ex’s sister – the doctor treating his son. As the initial anger Cohen has towards his ex’s family starts to wane, Jamie and Cohen’s feelings towards one another are thrown into the mix.
Stirred is a beautifully written book, this was my first of Charity Ferrell’s but this definitely won’t be my last.
It’s been five years since Cohen’s ex-girlfriend Heather gave birth to their son Noah and than left to pursue the life she wanted to live with no concern about those she left behind. Cohen was determined to ensure that nothing or no one would hurt his son so he refused to allow her family into their lives until a medical emergency changes everything.
Jamie is not only Heather’s sister but a doctor as well. She didn’t agree with what Heather did but she has also crushed on Cohen for as long as she can remember. She wants to be part of Noah’s life and is determined to prove to Cohen that she would never hurt him or his son. Noah has fallen in love with Jamie and isn’t long before the father does as well but when the past resurfaces will it bring them closer or tear them apart?
This is a story about love, family, healing from the past and it definitely has all the feels. The narrators did a great job with both the emotion of the story and the characters.
Stirred is the first book in the Twisted Fox series. Its a Contemporary romance with a Single dad/forbidden trope. I usually don’t read this type of romance, getting involved with an Ex’s little sister is Taboo, but this is told in a totally different way that draws you in from the start and will have the story swirling in your head after you read The End!
The characters are realistic, the secondary characters are exceptional, no cheating, plenty of angst and drama, a HEA and a heck of a teaser for the next book.
Cohen is a grumpy, bar owner and father to 5 year old, Noah. He has his priorities in order and they don’t include his Ex’s little sister, Jamie. Jamie is a ER Doctor and full of heart, totally different from her sister, who gave up her rights to Noah and walked away from them both.
Jamie is on duty when Cohen brings Noah into the ER with the flu. He’s hesitant for her to treat his son but excepts’ it when she doesn’t tell Noah who she is.
Cohen allows Jamie to spend time with Noah and the more time they spend together the more its apparent that someone’s heart is going to be broke. Noah falls in love and wants Jamie to be his Mama so, Cohen is more than willing to make that happen when they find out that Noah is going to be a big brother…
A forbidden romance with a side of angst and oh so much drama!
For a first in series the author did a great job of introducing the world and characters we will see later in the series. I did think that she kind of has already told us who is going to end up together, so I am not in a hurry to read the next books in the series since she did a good job of laying it out for us in this book.
Overall, this is a well written book. I liked the stylistic choices the author made. The characters are complex with out being confusing. This story had its drama, but most of the time the drama made sense with a believable resolution.
