He’s a reckless cowboy.
She’s a heartbroken ballerina.
Can shared grief lead to true love?
College student Jack McAllister drowns his guilt with booze and bar fights. But no amount of hard drinking will ever change the fact that his parents are dead and his older brother sacrificed everything to give him a better future. When he sees a beautiful dance student getting shoved around, he finally … around, he finally finds something worth fighting for.
Giselle Stratford is tired of living in the shadow of her dead brother. Nothing she does is ever good enough for her demanding mother, including her decision to attend a small Texas college. So when a handsome country boy stands up to her abusive dance partner, she knows she’s found someone who loves her exactly the way she is.
But after a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity opens up back home, Giselle’s mother will stop at nothing to sabotage their relationship—even if it means bankrupting her new boyfriend’s tight-knit, cash-strapped family. When the world threatens to rip them apart, Giselle and Jack must find the courage to confront their past traumas to create a bright new future together.

Stillwater Dusk : A Sweet Western Romance is just that. It’s sweet, it’s a western and it’s a romance. awwwww
The McAllister Brother’s are Jack, Noah & Luke, their grandpa “G-Daddy” and family friend Aimee. I’m guessing this will be a series of quick stories that will follow all of the brothers.
Westerns Romance is typically not my jam, add in the sweet and it’s almost too much. Well I’m happy to say that I enjoyed STILLWATER DUSK very much. It touched my heart, gave me all the feels and even had me chuckling a few times. It’s a quick read that I was able to devour in about 2 hours and look forward to reading more about these brothers.
I voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review….. This story had me from the very first page…..characters were relatable and the story drew you in….really enjoyed it …LOVE when I cry over a book….Well done !!! Would recommend continuing their story would love to see where everyone goes……
From the very beginning I was captivated with Jack and Giselle’s story. This is sweet story of two people who have a painful past and together they learn to live again. It made me laugh at times and had my heartbreaking at others. The other characters are very interesting as well. I am intrigued to see Noah’s and Luke’s story. As well as to see more of G-daddy, I love his lesson of a real man not being embarrassed to show his love!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it truly was to read. The characters are interesting, story was well written and the grammar was on point. (Biggest pet pev!) Oh and a major plus in my opinion is the intimate moment was kept pg13 instead of reading as porn. Definitely would recommend!
Luke, Noah and Jack. These are the McAllister brothers.
The close-knit, happy family suffered a great thud when their parents, James and Grace, died in a road accident.
In addition to all the sadness of the event, for Jack, still a boy, there was the burden of guilt.
And for years Jack had borne this guilt and made him a rebel.
And the more he rebelled, the more he felt guilty for keeping the other family members stuck to a promise.
When he met Giselle Stratford, a ballerina who was studying in the same place where Noah and Aimee – a family friend – studied music, he felt that somehow their fate was intertwined.
But Giselle’s mother thought differently.
Giselle came from a wealthy family, and the only person who paid attention to her, despite years of difference in age, was her older brother, Declan.
Their mother, Camille Stratford, saw her daughter only as a means to achieve greater success, being the main ballerina of a company. For this, Giselle could not have friends, social life, distraction.
Her life was only to study and rehearse.
Until she meets Jack. And his family. Loving, festive, happy. Everything she did not have at home.
And even though they were both so young, they recognized the pain each one carried in their chest and saw that one could be the healing of the other.
However, they would have to fight to get together.
For a long time a contemporary book did not touch me so deeply.
The McAllister brothers’ pains and struggles are so well described and so real that they could be happening right now with someone you know.
It hurts my heart to see Jack’s suffering and, even more so, when a character does so many evils with other people. So the end of the story is so important and touching.
I can not wait for the next book. And here, in my mind, I’m already imagining the happiness of a certain girl when she finally gets the love of her life….
more than 5 stars
Great book. Loved the characters. Wonderful love for 2 broken people who are trying to be better for themselves and each other. Jack’s family is great!
