I had it all.A perfect life.A safe life. The love of my life. Then, in the blink of an eye, it was gone. So, when I had the chance to have it again, I held on tight. So tight, I smothered it. My perfectly laid out life come crumbling down,And this time, it almost took me with it.Almost.My journey to reclaim my future sends me back into the very grown-up arms of the boy I used to love.I didn’t expect … smothered it.

And this time, it almost took me with it.
Almost.

I didn’t expect to still want him.
I didn’t expect him to want me, too.
In Dean, I find a passion and love I thought was lost
But the closer we get, the more tangled the web of deceit spun by families becomes.
And suddenly, our second chance at love turns into a battle for the future we want.
As we look to the past for answers, will what we remember, make us wish we could forget?

“With one kiss, his capture of my very soul is complete and final. This is us. And always will be.”
After finishing Rise I was really looking forward to Milly’s second-chance romance. It was obvious from the first book that there were things she was keeping to herself and I couldn’t wait to find out what. Remember started with a bang, I was instantly catapulted into Milly’s mind and was feeling exactly what she was feeling. It was a hurricane of emotions for me, I went from sad/beat-down to angry and ready for a fight. Dylan Allen has a way with words, she hypnotizes and doesn’t let you go until the end. So many things happened in the first half of the book, I was really excited to see where Milly’s journey would take her. She lost herself and tries to remember who she was. I loved seeing her grow and develop as an individual. I love her personality so much, and the same goes for Dean, her first love. He was so swoon-worthy and I couldn’t get enough of him. These two were magical together. What they have is that one of a kind love. (I am still looking to find mine)
“She looks like Hera descending Mount Olympus. She is more beautiful than Helen of Troy, and I would be willing to battle an entire nation for her.”
The way they were reunited was amazing, I really loved it. I loved the flashbacks of when they were young and in love, and wish there were more of them (and this coming from someone who normally dislikes flashbacks). In the last quarter of the book many secrets are revealed, and I have to say I was really impressed with how Dylan made everything fit so perfectly together. I loved that there was a bit of a mystery/suspense aspect to the story. There were questions I still had from the first book so I was happy when all of them were answered in this one. Remember is a beautiful second-chance romance, it is also a book about family which was integrated phenomenally into the book. It also doesn’t have any unnecessary drama, no crazy miscommunication that could’ve been solved by just talking to each other. This book has characters you can relate to. The story and pace feels very organic. Plus the sex scenes were very hot!
“I’d live my lonely, miserable childhood all over again. As long as I knew that at the end of the day I would end up with you.”
I highly recommend Dylan’s books for readers who are looking for novels that are more than just romance. She takes it to the next level, and I can’t really categorize her books into one genre. I also stopped trying to compare her books to others, because they are one of a kind. I am a huge fan of her writing and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
This was an amazing read. I haven’t read this author’s books before so it was a wonderful surprise. This author skillfully unraveled a complicated interwoven story of convenience, lost love, scandal, treachery, and love found with characters you love and hate, want to choke and want to hug. The pain and indecision clash with actions and desires for not only Mille and Dean but the other characters as well. It is a beautiful story that is detailed enough to pull you into the story without boring you and sexy enough to feed your innards but not over shadow the story.
I haven’t read the other books in the series but I now have an urge for more from the author and look forward to many wonderful reads.
4.5
I didn’t realise this was the second in a series but thankfully I had read the first one. Whilst I do think you could read this without having read the first book, you would be missing some back story in terms of the disappearance of Millie’s father.
Millie came across as weak in the first book, and I suppose in some ways she had been. I really enjoyed seeing the real Millie re-emerge and grow back into a strong and confident woman. Dean, the hero, was my favourite character. He wasn’t too overbearing or arrogant, but balanced being a strong male with being caring and open.
I love a good and well written second chance book, and this definitely fits that criteria. I also really liked that this didn’t follow the typical cliched formula of :-
1. will they, wont they?
2. get together
3. break up over something (usually a secret or misunderstanding)
then
4. get back together.
There is an awful lot of story in this book, some of it involving Millie and Dean and their relationship, some involving their family and some involving their pasts. The writing is of a high quality and the book is well edited. The plot was easy to follow, had a good pace, kept me engaged at all times and was never predictable – there were more than a few surprises along the way, especially when I thought it was building up to one of those cliches but instead the author spun the tale in a different direction.
The two main characters are complex and well thought through, believable and likeable. There are also lots of supporting characters that add extra depth to the story. I can’t wait to read Lilly’s story!
PS I ended up reading until late at night just to finish the book.
“Remember”is the story of two people who were lost through time.. Millie who was a married woman… a mother… to find out her life was taking a major downfall.. is like a kick on to the gut… unsure how to move on..
Dean.. a successful man.. broken heart over his first love…
The two met again and the journey begin..
Remember is a refine.. well written chapter.. the secret.. the angst.. second chances romance for Millie and Dean… I love on how Dean expressed his love and passion.. it was sexy…seductive.. i feel the love.. blushed between my cheek..
You can feel the warm being loved.. appreciated.. Millie is a lucky woman
I love groveling and damn Dean delivered big time in Remember. He wooed and made me swoon constantly in his pursuit to get Mille back.
Millie and Dean were high school sweethearts and hadn’t seen each other in over a decade when they meet again as adults. Unfortunate circumstances pulled them apart when they were young and now they’re trying to find a way back to one another. One thing is certain. They’re each other’s constant. Soul mates. When they’re together they can survive anything.
Millie lost a part of herself when she was married to Kevin and when he leaves her she finally takes charge of her life and wants to make a change. For the better. For herself and her son Anthony. Dean is a part of that plan. He’s always wanted her and stops at nothing to get her back. He makes Millie embrace parts of herself she has suppressed when she was with Kevin. Their chemistry and love was amazing. I loved how obsessed or infatuated he was with Millie and also gave her space to be her. Millie showed her true self. Empowering and strong. Her love and trust in Dean never wavered.
This was a fabulous second chance story that gave me a great story filled with romance, smoking hot scenes and a wonderful epilogue. Now I hope Lilly gets her story cause damn I’m intrigued.

I don’t even have words!!! Dylan Allen you did it again!!! After I read Rise, I instantly fell in love! I’m like a junkie for your books! Remember is amazing!! When I started reading it I couldn’t stop, the feels,, oh my God! you took me into another world with Milly and Deans story. I love how badass Milly is. This story of how broken hearted she is and then BAM! All is right in the world when Dean comes back in her life!! Their love story is sooo HOT!! I don’t want to give away any spoilers so,,,, all I’ll say is this book is a MUST read!!! #One-click
This book will make you angry, laugh, cry and be sooo happy! I can’t wait to read the next story in this series!! Lilly and Harry??? hell yes!! thank you so much for writing these books! Dylan Allen, you are AMAZING!!
Remember by Dylan Allen is book 2 in the Symbols of Love series and can be read as a standalone. Book 1 is called Rise and contains some of the characters mentioned in this book.
“This is my life and I know the things on this list, all make my heart race. I’m terrified, thrilled and proud.” – Milly
This story is about first loves, second chances and self-discovery with intrigue and secrets thrown into the mix. I couldn’t put this book down and loved reading about Milly’s self-discovery after surviving heartbreak. I was able to relate with some of Milly’s thoughts and feelings due to having experienced my relationship breaking down. Milly’s reactions and struggle was realistic and this shows how amazing an author Dylan Allen is. Only a fantastic author would be able to find the words to show what Milly is experiencing and enable the reader to not only understand but also experience the emotions and thoughts along with the character. I wanted Milly to finally be free of her past, which would enable her to move on and actually have the life she deserved and needed. Milly has spent years putting her life on hold and pretending to be someone she wasn’t.
“Milly. After more than a decade, I was laying eyes on her again. It was like a jump-start to all of the emotions I’d spent years battling. Love, anger, fear, relief, sadness all came flying back into the fractures seeing her had made in my heart.’ – Dean
Dean is full of anger but also confusion about why his best friend and true love would walk away without even a goodbye. He sets out to get the answers he’s wanted for years but seeing Milly awakens him and he has to take a look at what he really wants from life. I feel for Dean because he’s judged for what he can offer on the outside and also wasn’t able to be the real him for many years. Usually, I would be sympathetic for one character more than another in a book but with Remember, I felt for both Molly and Dean. I wanted them both to have their HEA and didn’t favour one character over the other. Again, this proves Dylan Allen’s skills as an author and she has gained another fan/reader right here! I can’t wait to see what’s next in the series and fully intend to read book 1 because I’d like to know about Addie and Simon who are the main characters of Rise but also make an appearance in Remember.
I would recommend Remember to readers who want a fabulous love story with something more thrown in. This isn’t your typical love story and you won’t be left disappointed.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of the book and all opinions are my own
This might just be my favorite book of 2017 so far!! Remember is book two in the Symbols of Love series. These books are all standalones that are interconntected. Rise is about Addie, Remember is about Milly, and the next book will be Lilly’s book. I, personally, have a few secondary characters that I am hoping get spin off book. So, can you read this book, Remember before Rise? Yes, you can. I’d recommend reading Rise first as it is friggin’ awesome! But, these are books that can stand by themselves, but, they do have a bit of an overall connection.
I could not LOVE the two main characters more than I do. One might look at Milly and think she’s easy to walk all over, a pushover, and she might have started out that way. But this book is more than a love story. This book is a book about finding yourself when everything you have known is falling to pieces around you. Do you fall or do you rise? This book will answer so many questions you had in Rise.
First, I have to say that Dean might just be the most perfect male book character ever! He is so genuine and so darn swoonable! He’s the perfect man for Milly! After years apart, they were able to find each other again. I loved that this book was two mature grown up adults confronting life head on. You will read things that could have happened to your best friend or even yourself. You will relate to these people, almost every married woman or mom will relate to Milly. We put ourselves on the back burner so much of the time. Anyway, I went off track… Milly and Dean attack life together, just like people should do.
This book was perfection! Dylan Allen’s writing is flawless. Her story is full of heart and hope. I was sucked into Milly’s life from page one. Once I got 75% into Remember I was rushing through the pages. There was more suspense than I was expecting and I could not read it quickly enough. Remember is a book that’s going to stick with me. We all should be so lucky to Remember our dreams and to Rise up to them.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not a big fan of second chance romances, BUT… this one worked. It worked so well.
We get a bit of a continuation from Rise and all the favorite players from that story. We get a bit more about the Dad situation. But you get a full on second chance story that will make you love Milly (and Dean) so hard.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this title.* Where to begin……..PASSION, FATE, LOYALTY, BELIEF, and FERVENT LOVE. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what I found Remember encompasses. This book is just EVERYTHING. Milly’s and Dean’s story touched on so many noteworthy topics that had me flipping the pages too fast. I found myself wanting to slow down and savor every word, every page, every kiss, every love-filled gesture. This story is so well within my wheelhouse, and had me bursting with excitement.
I had great expectations going into Milly’s story, and Dylan Allen delivered 10-fold! Milly is an extraordinary woman. Given all that her and her family had to endure, surely it would have provided reason for her to be a complete wreck. However, gathering about her wits proved to be instinctual. She wasn’t only living her life for herself, but for her son. In many ways, as I read this story, Milly reminded me of the legend of the phoenix. She rose out of the ashes and renewed herself. She took what laid before her and created the very foundation of what was to be a remarkable life journey ahead. One that was to include a love that endured and remained in her heart.
At Dean’s introduction, I was not sure of what to expect. There was obvious resentment and tension that lingered for years; however, it provided for an intriguing segue of what was to come. Learning of his life and what transpired during their time apart, it became apparent that they were each other’s answer. They were one another’s life line.
As a second chance story, Remember offers its own unique set of obstacles. Despite a love that seemed set in concrete, Milly and Dean were not without an unpredictability that left me desperate to know who or what could possibly leave them irrevocably broken.
This story, their journey left me punch-drunk and sated all at the same time. I took away “remembering” the admiration I grew for Milly. Feeling her strength left me inspired, wistful and happy. And Dean…..I would be remissed by not acknowledging the tantalizing influence he had on me. My gosh, this man offered no shortage of sexiness……AND his mouth, both physically and figuratively were AH-MAZING.
Dylan Allen offers a new and refreshing take on a second chance love story with Remember. She provides a romance reader with a massively fulfilling take on what has been turned into so often as a rinse, lather, repeat fantasy. What a fantastic read! I am so anxious and delighted to continue on my adventure with the Hassan Family. This series is phenomenal, and I have Dylan Allen to thank for it.
This series… it absolutely is stunning.
I had no sooner read the end of Rise before I was loading Remember onto my kindle. This wonderful family of brilliant and beautiful women had me enthralled, enchanted and just so energized to have more of their story and Remember certainly was amazing.
Milly’s story is not just a second chance at romance with the incredibly gorgeous Dean. This was Milly’s second chance at HER. This was her chance to find the girl that she left behind in the hopes of having something solid – her childhood was certainly filled with angst, betrayal and loss. Her marriage has fallen apart before her eyes. Now Milly has to find the strength, the determination and the will to take care of herself so that she can take care of her son. I cheered this woman. I applauded her every single step of the way. She fought and she won. Even though the ex-husband tried to stop her at every turn. Even though she has doubts. Still, she persisted.
I loved Dean. He was… perfection! Angry that the girl he loved with all his heart moved on with his life, he lures Milly into his company with the intention of getting answers by any means necessary. But Dean has his own baggage. He has his own tragic past… all wrapped around the Enron scandal. The things that he discovers and the pain that he will endure will either destroy his last chance to have a life with Milly or solidly everything that he has always known – without Milly he is nothing.
I sighed all the way through this book. It kept me on my seat and wanting the next paragraph, the next page, the next chapter. The romance between Milly and Dean… oh, these two! Dean is so sexy, so wonderful to Milly’s son, so strong. His heart is golden. His soul and his being are so in tune and entwined with Milly, and I fell so hard for him. There’s still the intrigue and suspense of the Dennis family’s story and the ending of this book? Just amazing! My heart, my heart, my heart!
Amazing read! Heart stopping, intense, romantic and sensual. Truly FANTASTIC! Job well done, Dylan.
I am utterly and fantastically blown away by this book. Seriously, what is this sorcery?!?
I listened to the majority of the book, which was narrated amazingly by Anthony Linden, but did enjoy the ebook too when I just didn’t have the chance to listen. I don’t think I have ever listened to a dual POV book with only a male narrator. I’ve listened to several with only a female narrator, but this was definitely a first and I have to say I am impressed. Anthony Linden brought so much emotion and heart to the scenes and I was captivated by his performance. I honestly, inhaled this book. I haven’t been consumed by a story and its characters like this in a while and I just couldn’t bring myself to stop. From the very first page, I was sucked in and needed to know more. I even messaged a friend to gush and share my feelings because I just couldn’t contain them.
Milly was an incredibly relatable heroine. Haven’t we all lost ourselves or our way at some point in our lives? I loved her evolution through the story and how with each chapter, she regained a piece of herself. She didn’t let her terrible ex Kevin define or destroy her. Milly is intelligent, loving, giving, and so fiercely loyal. I absolutely loved her and Dean. Her history with him broke my heart and it was game over for me the minute he came onto the scene.
I am an absolute sucker for second chance romances that feature childhood sweethearts and Dean was all kinds of swoony perfection! I could not get enough of him and part of what endeared him to me was that, just like Milly, he is not perfect. These two lost souls have been existing, but not truly living until they crash back into each others lives. I loved that from the start, he was 100% devoted to Milly and unwilling to let his second chance slip away. Add in his deliciously dirty mouth and I was a goner.
“Milly, this body, this soul, this love, it’s mine. The only other children that will grow inside you are the ones that I put there. This. Is. Forever.”
I also loved (and hated) the secondary characters just as much as Milly and Dean. Mrs. Orleans and Nicola had me feeling like I needed to slap someone, while Anthony, Mary, Addie, and Lilly had me wanting to grab everyone into a big hug. The story really came full circle at the end and I appreciated the kind of role reversal between Milly and Dean as far as guilt and blame was concerned regarding their parents. I could not have enjoyed this story more and though this is my first Dylan Allen book, it certainly won’t be my last!
This book was a good read. Simon and Addie will definitely keep you interested in their story, and as much as they fight what they feel for each other, they are both great in their own way. They will definitely aggravate you with the back and forth between what they feel and what they think is the right thing to do but you will want to know how things turn out, not only with them but with family, friends and work. I’m more than sure there will be another book following this one and I would definitely read it because this story is far from over. I enjoyed all of the characters a lot and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
Mesmerizing. If I have to choose one word to describe Remember, mesmerizing is the one I pick. Milly and Dean’s story is both tragic and triumphant. It is totally captivating. The pages between the beautiful cover of this book are also filled with a passion that is unexpected and overwhelming.
Milly Dennis is a true pheonix. When her carefully crafted life literally burns to the ground, she rises from the ashes, a glorious, grogeous, and fierce being. Her courage is awe-inspiring and inspirational.
Dean Orleans’ life is far from a fairytale. Yet, he is the consummate romance hero.He is literally the handsome man who steps out of a dream and helps to right all that is wrong in the world.
The most beautiful aspect of Remember is the love story of Milly and Dean that spans a tumultuous decade. However, it is the layering of this romance between international intrigue, corporate scandal, and family crisis that makes it unique and unfrogettable.
Dylan Allen has a true talent for blending story layers and incorporating multi-cultural elements into her books. She does it in a way that readers can absolutely relate to. It is non-traditional and completely refreshing.
What I love most about Remember is the message of true love’s ability to transcend tragedy and time. I also adore the relationships and bonds of the Hassan/Dennis family. I cannot wait to find out what will be revealed in the next chapter of their story.
Milly and Dean are just the best !!
Wow I don’t know why I’m only reading this series now but it’s brilliant. This is the second book in the series. I luvd the first book Rise and thats Addie’s story. This book is her older sister Milly. I was really looking forward to this book I knew there was a lot to know about Milly. She is a really great character these sisters haven’t had it easy over the last few years but they have sorted out there lives in the best way they can. Molly has tried to hold on to the luv she has with her husband but knew deep down there wasn’t a point. But she has to try her luv life has been the same since Dean her childhood sweetheart. It killed her that her marriage was falling apart they had a cute lil did year old boy he was her world but she had to let go. She wasn’t the woman she used to be her husband has worn her down in a way. So now he was gone it was time to get the old Milly back. She just didn’t think getting her back would mean seeing the only guy that she has luvd Dean Orleans.
Dean Orleans is just wow. This guy is sexy an hot as hell he just oozes sex appeal from the start. After hearing with happened between Milly and Dean story I was rooting for them from the start. But things were so complicated with Milly’s ex and things still crazy with her dad life just wasn’t great. One thing that hadn’t changed after 13 year was there attraction to each other. Once the air was cleared every feeling from when they were younger came rushing back. But Dean had his own drama to his mum is just a horrible woman I didn’t like her at all and his ex was just a pain in the butt and just like his mum. I really don’t know how he didn’t see it. I was just glad that Milly and Dean found each other again they were just meant to be.
This book is one of my favourites from this author. Her books are just amazing there isn’t a book that I have enjoyed. This story was just so good I was hooked from the start. The story of the Hassan sisters just keeps getting better. I liked that we got to know more about there family and got some answers from the last book. I m dying to know more about Lilly she is quiet but can be quite feisty to when she is passionate about something. These sisters are just brilliant I luv them there so different but so close I really like there relationship. I would highly recommend this book I’m a sucker for second chance romance there my go to. So I knew I would luv this book. I’m looking forward to starting the next book in this series.
I’m a sucker for a beautiful and heartwarming second chance romance, and Remember was SO good!! Remember is book two in the Symbols Of Love series and I couldn’t wait to read Milly’s book.
The idea of young love reeled me in immediately. Milly and Dean were high school sweethearts, best friends and so deeply in love with each other. They were driven apart due to the circumstances with her dad and forced to move to another state with new identities.
Fate has a way bringing them back together and I couldn’t have been happier. They face several challenges considering Milly has been dumped her husband and is now a single mom. And her father is still on the run, the mystery surrounding his disappearance and the details on whether or not he was truly involved in the financial scam that wrecked so many lives is mounting. Dean truly melted my heart with his passion and love for Milly. It’s more that apparent that this man has never stopped loving her.
This book is memorable is more ways than one. I love the fact that not only is it romantic and steamy, but the angst and suspense had my heart racing. And I was blown away by the plot twist. Once again Ms. Allen did outstanding job and I definitely recommend reading Remember.
Breathe, breathe, deep breath . . . this book was everything! Remember is book 2 of the Symbols of Love series which follows Abby’s sister Milly’s and her delicious journey with Dean. Milly is a mother, a wife and a sister. Milly’s father disappeared after the huge collapse of his company. Rumors of her fathers involvement left her, her sisters and mother devastated. Milly and her family were pulled from their home, made to change their names and move to another city, leaving behind what Milly cherished most…Dean. Dean was Milly’s high school sweetheart. There connection was more than a crush, it was a deep rutted, soul infused love. Milly was not to reach out to anyone in her past and Milly forced herself to move on with her life and create the “perfect” life as a wife and mother. Like her past, her world came to a crashing halt when her husband of ten years and the father of her son left her for another women. With her life in a tale-spin, Milly decides to get her life in order and become Milly again. Her new venture leads her right back into the life and arms of her beloved Dean. Dean never stop thinking of Milly even after all these years and he never stopped loving Milly. Dean’s persistence paid off when he was once again face to face with Milly.
*I don’t want to spoil the book, but I want readers to know that reading a man like Dean and the way he loves was an honor. He wore his heart on his sleeve and express his undying love for Milly no matter the consequences or outcome. He was a man’s man with a heart he had to share with Milly even after all those years apart. Once again Dylan has written a book that is captivating, intriguing and sexy as hell.
Holy smokes. I was so excited to see Milly was getting her own book because I was immediately interested in by her during her visit to see Addie in Rise. Again the writing is so great and I just can’t get enough. For this to be her second book, Remember has blown me away. Smooth and easy flowing writing.
Remember is a swoonworthy second chance romance that will have your heart beating rapidly. I loved Milly and Dean. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. They were such a perfect fit and Dean was meant for Milly. I truly believed he was everything she needed and more. He stuck by Milly’s side, listened and worked things out, and cared so much for her. I was also very happy to hear more about her father and Dean’s as well.
My heart is seriously touched and I loved this book so much. Its just something about the characters that gets under my skin and sinks their way into your heart. I love them as if they were real people. Seriously read this book. I can’t say more without spoiling this amazing book.
