On the day she was abducted, Annie O’Sullivan, a thirty-two year old realtor, had three goals—sell a house, forget about a recent argument with her mother, and be on time for dinner with her ever- patient boyfriend. The open house is slow, but when her last visitor pulls up in a van as she’s about to leave, Annie thinks it just might be her lucky day after all. Interwoven with the story of the … year Annie spent as the captive of psychopath in a remote mountain cabin, which unfolds through sessions with her psychiatrist, is a second narrative recounting events following her escape — her struggle to piece her shattered life back together and the ongoing police investigation into the identity of her captor.
The truth doesn’t always set you free.
Still Missing is that rare debut find — a shocking, visceral, brutal and beautifully crafted debut novel.

Still Missing by Chevy Stephens took me out of my comfort zone with it’s harsh, but very real subject matter. It gave me nightmares for awhile, but I couldn’t put it down. Still Missing is not for the faint of heart, but if you can get past the explicit violence it’s well worth the time. It was well paced and left me breathless clear to the end.
Annie is a regular woman working in a small town as a realtor (or estate agent as we say in the UK). One day, at an open house, a man drags her into a van and imprisons her. She remains his prisoner for a full year. This story picks up after her escape through a series of therapy sessions. During those sessions, she talks about what happened to …
Incredible read! Annie went through one long year of hell after being abducted by The Freak, and her story is being told to her therapist. The book moves from present day to her year of hell, and Stevens makes this happen seamlessly. I had the bad guy in my head through the book, but WOW was I way wrong! Shocking, thrilling, and unputdownable. …
Loved this one. The story is revealed through sessions with psychiatrist. Characters seemed real and the twist at the end was unexpected.
I’ll be honest, this was almost a DNF for me. The first section on the book is very hard to read. The things that the kidnapper did to Annie are hard to read. I had to put it down between chapters and read HEA romances in between to keep my mood from sinking too low. But then about halfway through the book became unputdownable.
Still Missing is …
Fantastic book. Right away I was hooked. Excellent!
This was one of the best books I have ever read. The subject matter was kind of sensitive but needed to be brought out. It made me laugh, cry and found it would haunt me for a long time. The plot was well thought out and the way the author developed each of the characters made this a book I will never forget. Kudos to the author for giving us a …
This was a GREAT book! I am an avid reader and absolutely loved this book. It was definitely a page turner and I read it in less that 2 days. I literally could not put it down!
It seemed a very realistic description of the thoughts of a survivor of kidnapping, continued rape, and long-term isolation and brainwashing. Terrifying and gripping, and sad. And totally unable to put down.
This book gutted me.
Could not put the book down. Well written and worth the time to read.
This was a really good book. It was at times difficult to read, but the author did a terrific job at keeping it real. I believe this would make a great movie. It had great twists and turns. I loved the ending.
What a story! Absolutely the best novel I’ve read in years. Psychological suspense at its spine-tingling best. Chevy Stevens is a brilliant storyteller. For a first publication this book is outstanding. Each riveting chapter ups the ante in some way, making it almost impossible to put the book (kindle) down to get on with daily life. Finished in …
One of my favorite books ever. It’s a story that has stayed with me years after I read it.
This book was not at all what I was looking for when I picked it up. And because it was so different, I put it down for a while and almost didn’t pick it back up. But I’m one of those who pretty much always has to finish a book. And I guess I’m glad I did. I didn’t gain anything by reading it, but once I got past the rough patch at the beginning, …
Love this book!! So well written it’s a definite page turner!
Wonderful book Its one of her best
David was a monster; a horrible person! The heroine of the book was so very brave. Could not put it down–I was on the edge of my seat with this story!
The book is one of those that starts in the present, but then shows flashbacks to previous times in the main characters life. It has a dark side to the book for sure, and graphic scenes with abuse and rape. It can be a hard read for some. I will be honest after the first time a rape was discussed, I almost couldn’t finish the book, as a victim of …
Couldn’t put it down! Amazing author, can’t wait to read more of her books.
