In Lisa Genova’s extraordinary New York Times bestselling novel, an accomplished woman slowly loses her thoughts and memories to Alzheimer’s disease—only to discover that each day brings a new way of living and loving. Now a major motion picture starring Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth, and Kristen Stewart!Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children and a house on the … a house on the Cape, is a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career when she notices a forgetfulness creeping into her life. Fiercely independent, Alice struggles to maintain her lifestyle and live in the moment, even as her sense of self is being stripped away. In turns heartbreaking, inspiring, and terrifying, Still Alice captures in remarkable detail what it’s like to literally lose your mind…
Reminiscent of A Beautiful Mind, Ordinary People, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Still Alice packs a powerful emotional punch and marks the arrival of a strong new voice in fiction.

Gave a good idea of how Alzheimer’s affects people.
What you imagine about Dementia is not nearly as scary as the reality portrayed in this true story of a professional 50 year old woman. So glad I read this.
My Mother has Alzheimer’s disease and now my Sister in law does . It is such a sad & tragic thing to see them struggle in the beginning of the disease & then in the last stages for my Mom not to recognize any of her family. This book helped me see things from from
the Alzheimer’s patients prospective
One of the best books, EVER!
Tells a story of a smart, accomplished woman who suffers from the creep of Alzheimer’s. It is very realistic, and everyone who will ever grow old or who knows anyone who grows old should read this. It sparks empathy in the reader, and just a little fear of what might be in one’s own future. While it is fiction, it is based on the facts of what the …
I highly recommend this book!
Very sad book but maybe one we should all read. God forbid you or someone you love comes down with this disease but to understand what one is going through this would make an excellent read !
I devoured this book several years ago and remember it like I read it yesterday! A gripping narrative about the journey of one woman’s descent into Alzheimer’s disease. A book you shouldn’t miss.
This book really helps to understand the affects of Alzheimer’s from the point of view of the patient. Very well written!
I read this after I saw the movie. The book, as is usually said, is much better. It delves deeper into her thoughts as she is losing herself. A very sad situation presented in a way that we can empathize with her as she dwindles away, while still alive and present in this world.
Beautifully written book about living with Alzheimers in the patient’s perspective.
Good inside look at life with Alzheimer’s.
I Learned a lot about Alzhiemers from this book. It was sad to read how she faced her battle. It was interesting to read how her care givers handled it. I hope I will have learned from this book. Thank you
An inspirational, haunting look at a terrible disease and what it does to the lives it infects. Brave and heart wrenchingly honest.
My mother had dementia. It was horrible to watch her mind waste away. She usually had no idea of who I or my father were. So for me this book was somewhat therapeutic. The development of dementia is not a pretty sight or a warm fuzzy novel, but we all need to understand what happens to a person. We need to be able to accept what we do not want to …
Once of the best books I have ever read. Your heart is definitely touched.
Passed along some of the the advice to friends
This book haunts me. I read it some time ago and was honestly surprised that I hadn’t reviewed it anywhere. Perhaps it is because I was bereft when I finished the book. Don’t misunderstand – this book is searing but not maudlin. As I watch an aging parent losing pieces of herself, I become more and more aware of who I am and who I may be whether …
A great inside look at Alzheimer’s. Tragic, inescapable, terrifying look inside the mind damaged by this incurable disease.
Simply stated: I really enjoyed reading this book! I haven’t seen the movie yet, but knew this was about Alzheimer’s. It did not disappoint. It was written as if through the eyes of one with Alzheimer’s and took us for what seemed a true account of what it might be like becoming diagnosed with this terrible disease. It seemed as if the writer was …
