In Lisa Genova’s extraordinary New York Times bestselling novel, an accomplished woman slowly loses her thoughts and memories to Alzheimer’s disease—only to discover that each day brings a new way of living and loving. Now a major motion picture starring Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth, and Kristen Stewart!Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children and a house on the … a house on the Cape, is a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career when she notices a forgetfulness creeping into her life. As confusion starts to cloud her thinking and her memory begins to fail her, she receives a devastating diagnosis: early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Fiercely independent, Alice struggles to maintain her lifestyle and live in the moment, even as her sense of self is being stripped away. In turns heartbreaking, inspiring, and terrifying, Still Alice captures in remarkable detail what it’s like to literally lose your mind…
Reminiscent of A Beautiful Mind, Ordinary People, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Still Alice packs a powerful emotional punch and marks the arrival of a strong new voice in fiction.

Her books teach the reader. I was so taken by this book that I made it required reading in one of my community college classes. I was haunted by it for some time.
The character development was excellent. I honestly understood Alice’s disease and her family’s adjustment. Alzheimer’s or any dementia is difficult to face yet Alice forced herself to move forward. Lisa Genova took us with these characters through every step of discovery. Very well written. Jacqueline
I have never read the book and I want to because the movie is amazing. The movie is a real tearjerker and so true
I recommend this book to everyone all the time
To be given a perspective of Alzheimer’s from the patient’s viewpoint was greatly informative.
My mother died of dementia. Still Alice is the story of Alice’s decline into dementia. It explains so much my mother went through that she was never able to share! I appreciate the honesty of Still Alice. I read the book some time ago. It is the measure of a good book when several years later the reader can still remember the details with …
This is a very important read, as it helps us understand what it is like to find out that you have Alzheimer’s and can still have a life. In our aging population this is a way to begin to put the syndrome into our conscienceless, so that if it is ourselves,
our loved ones or our friends… we can face it with greater understanding, compassion …
“Still Alice” was an incredibly heart breaking story of not just a woman declining through Alzheimer’s, but an entire family’s journey. The story starts out showing how successful Alice Howland is. She is a Harvard professor, has a PhD, 3 grown children and a happy marriage. Slowly things start to change. Over the next two years, we see how this …
A must read…wonderful insight about dealing with Alzheimer’s. Heart wrenching yet beautiful.
Very timely story of family facing dementia.
I enjoyed this book very much. Due to the age of the main character it was a different twist on a tragic topic. Sometimes we believe illness and disease are for older people, but as Alice found out that is not the way life goes. Very touching.
Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s will eventually touch most families with aging parents. Too often we try to correct them, lose patience, or visit less frequently. This is such a sensitive “telling” of being the individual who is diagnosed with this disease and it’s written to bring a better understanding and greater sensitivity for the person who is …
This is a book that will tear at your heart but it sends you out with a good message. Love is deeper than any disease.
This was the first selection for our book club when it first got going. It was a heartbreaking story and one that stays with you. Early onset Alzheimer’s is a brutal disease and this story tells the effects on the person affected and their family.
Definitely fantastic.
Wow. This book walks you down the long hallway of darkness with the character.
I PSW I think all PSW should read this book.
