In Lisa Genova’s extraordinary New York Times bestselling novel, an accomplished woman slowly loses her thoughts and memories to Alzheimer’s disease—only to discover that each day brings a new way of living and loving. Now a major motion picture starring Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth, and Kristen Stewart!Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children and a house on the … a house on the Cape, is a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career when she notices a forgetfulness creeping into her life. As confusion starts to cloud her thinking and her memory begins to fail her, she receives a devastating diagnosis: early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Fiercely independent, Alice struggles to maintain her lifestyle and live in the moment, even as her sense of self is being stripped away. In turns heartbreaking, inspiring, and terrifying, Still Alice captures in remarkable detail what it’s like to literally lose your mind…
Reminiscent of A Beautiful Mind, Ordinary People, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Still Alice packs a powerful emotional punch and marks the arrival of a strong new voice in fiction.

It was a fast read for me because I was interested in this sad subject. Excellent read.
I like how the author wrote from the perspective of Alice from the beginning stages of alzheimer’s as she chronicled the progression. As a reader I felt I could feel her pain. The ending was where it had to be. We can only imagine what lay ahead for Alice. It was an insight into the life of someone a reader may know – or experience himself …
True story of losing yourself
This book gives seniors who fear Alzheimer’s and their families courage to face it. Heart breaking, kind, encouraging, painful…the strength of loving support can help both family and patient to rise to the challenges.
Still Alice gave excellent insight into a family’s dealing with the mother’s dementia.
With a parent going through Alzheimer’s, this was insightful, even though everyone experiences Alzheimers differently, and patients’ personalities change in different ways. This book reminded me to empathize more with my parent, rather than judge.
I read this book at least two years ago, and it still evokes very strong emotions within me. It was written so well, I felt like I was part of Alice’s family and experiencing the effects of the devastating diagnosis. Literally made me cry, more than once.
I wanted to find more information about Alzheimer’s and was so glad to find this book available to me. I am 88 and my husband is90 and this helps me understand what to keep watching for in our lives Beautifully written and a book everyone should read
I now understand what people go through when they develop Alzheimers disease. This book would be helpful for caregivers to read.
I read this book with fearful fascination. The characters were very real. The interactions felt painfully real. I do not know if this will ever be a part of the life of anyone in my family, I pray not, but I am glad to have some insight as to what it might look like.
Thought provoking
An insight into the Alzheimer’s as it develops and how it affects the individual and the individual’s family.
I am a realist. If I was told I had a gene which showed I had a strong possibility of becoming an Alzheimer victim I would want to know so that I could prepare myself and my family for what’s to come. Not everyone wants to know that. Still Alice shows how this devastating disease progresses in a very personal way..I recommend anyone dealing with …
My father has Alzheimer’s disease so i relate to this book so much. I think Lisa Genova does a great Job
Having a parent with dementia made this more real to me
A realistic portrayal of what living with Alzheimer’s is like, from the POV of the person with the disease. Have tissues handy, especially if you are or have gone down this path with a loved one.
This book was wonderfully written and drew me in. It was such a realistic portrait of what this disease does to the entire family. I will say though I did not finish this book, Although a good book, I was just not in a place emotionally that I could handle this book, it is such a downer. So I guess mine is a mixed a review, Good book but be …
This book is a must-read for everybody. This novel is one that will stay with you, maybe even forever. This sad story of an early onset Alzheimer’s patient is told from her side, taking the reader on a long and difficult phase of life. This life swings from the successful life of a brilliant scholar to the totally helpless life of one afflicted …
Loved this book!
This book was scary, but not in a horror kind of way, but in just how frightening Alzheimer’s can be. Although it’s fiction, the facts of the disease and how it could affect someone in the same way are all too real.
