A Doctor calls – only to fall short of breath.
Dr. Milo Grandview, the friendly local practitioner, is found dead. He’d been a breath of fresh air to the community, writing prescriptions for a lot of desperate people for a list of ailments. With Hillary by his side, Preston launches into inquiries over the suspicious death. It is quickly deduced that not all of Milo’s patients were legitimate. … death. It is quickly deduced that not all of Milo’s patients were legitimate. The lies, addiction and threats beneath the scrubs are massive and ground-breaking – motivation for cold-blooded murder.

While I truly enjoy this series and it’s a nice read, I am so sick and tired of the focus being on the relationship between Hillary and her daughter, Annabelle. In fact, the mystery seems to have taken the back seat in the last book, Basket Delivery, and now in this one. I do like that the relationship between Hillary and Preston, the local Police Chief seems to be moving forward but she spends far too much of her time obsessing over her grown-up daughter’s relationship with someone she considers somewhat questionable. Even the murder of a prominent doctor can’t stop her from taking over the book with her reluctance to let go. In the future, I would prefer more focus on the mysteries surrounding these characters and less focus on the relationship between mother and daughter. I still like the series but my interest has waned lately.

Cindy Rutherford made my day!!!!!! I absolutely loved the way she turned the tables on Hillary. This book has a lot of twists, turns and secrets, but I was shocked at the ending. Talk about a misunderstanding. I would definitely recommend this book.

Hillary and Preston are again trying to solve a death in town, their sixth. But both are preoccupied. Preston wants to slowly have a form of commitment, so he asks Hillary to go with him to the Police Ball, but she is totally consumed by the worries about her daughter’s love life and said daughter trying to run interference between Preston and Hillary.
With this story on the side we have an interesting, entertaining mix, where not only the murder needs to be solved, but the relationships of some of the main characters of the series are re-defined.

I like how the writer is taking things ‘slow and steady’ with Hilary and Preston in this series. They are just starting to click on a more personal level and of course, there is also another murder to solve. Preston isn’t so restraint to Hilary helping in his investigations now also. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from Booksprout.
Love Can Be Murder!
Another great story from Wendy Meadows. I loved that the romance between Hillary and Preston is finally heating up despite her daughter Annabelle’s objections. Wonderful cozy mystery. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
This is a good read. But the suspense and mystery is few and far between. The women fight to make space to breathe between them. The obsessive behavior of Mom towards her grown daughter is calming down. Her love interest patiently waiting for her attention. However, small towns may be picturesque and quaint. But they hold many secrets and dangers behind closed doors.
Hillary and Preston are trying to make things work, but Annabelle isn’t happy with her mom being with another man other than her father, who passed away. Hillary isn’t happy with Annabelle being with Giovanni. This makes for hurt feelings and lots of stress. Throw in a murder and it’s chaos!
Great series and I’m ready for more!

An enjoyable fun cozy murder mystery. This well written storyline was entertaining and had me addicted from beginning to end. It Involves murder, mystery, unfortunate suspicions, drama betrayal, and negotiations. The characters are well developed, realistic and full of spunk and determination. I really enjoyed this fun mystery that I voluntarily read and reviewed.
Entertaining and interesting mystery. Great characters and story. Good whodunnit! Easy to read! Would recommend.

In this latest cozy mystery in the series, Rosemary Harbor’s newest doctor is murdered while most of the town is attending a restaurant opening. Hillary is very distracted and pre-occupied by Annabelle’s relationship with Giovanni and her relationship with Preston is suffering for it. Hillary and Annabelle have an emotional heart to heart discussion and clear the air just in time for Hillary to make up with Preston and solve the murder.

Hillary Sheridan finds herself involved in another murder case. While out on a date with her “wannabe” boyfriend Police Chief Preston at a restaurant opening, the local doctor is found dead in his home. Doctor Milo seems to be very popular with the ladies in town, so the question is “who would want him dead?”.
While all this is going on, Hillary is sticking her nose into her daughter’s business. She is not happy with Annabelle’s choice in boyfriend and tries to play matchmaker with an eligible bachelor in town. Wonder how that is going to turn out.
I don’t want to give away all the details and the surprise ending, so I won’t go on. Let’s just say if you enjoy a clean cozy mystery that is entertaining, sometimes witty, has a touch of romance, and lots of mystery and adventure, then you will want to pick up this sixth book in the Rosemary Harbor series.
There is yet another murder in Rosemary Habor and fortunately now Preston welcomes Hillary’s help in solving it. This was a fun and good read and I know we deal with some things that have been simmering for a while but I also was a a bit confused by how does no one really know she helps Preston with solving murders, I mean I would expect it to be a bit more of a common knowledge thing in such a small town and this book is more about Hillary’s relationship with Annabelle. I hope now that that Annabelle and Hillary are all on track and Preston knows where he is at also with Hillary we can get back to the fun and intriguing murder mystery we started off with as I really do love them!

This author always writes a clean, nonviolent, and awesome story. I love it. So a death brings secrets out to shock the community. Hilary and Preston are a great team. This is another fabulous story!

Hillary finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation. She and Preston are also at a bad place in their relationship. As they work to solve the murder Hillary and her daughter work through issues that are having dramatic affects on both of their lives and relationships with others.

Has Hilary finally reached a point where she is really ready to move ahead with Preston? The Chief has had feelings for her since her arrival in town.
Her obsession with her daughter Annabelle and her feelings about Hilary dating have been an avoidance for some time. The young woman is 25, not fifteen. Time for someone to take a bit more space for themselves.
Small towns have a habit of mixing or opining on relationships. Hilary is in for more unhappy surprises on that front if she keeps an eligible bachelor “tied up” if she is uninterested.
Time for Annabelle and Hilary to both look ahead. While still cherishing and treasuring the time they both spent with husband and father Matthew, each has new opportunities.
A sweet transitional book, with some unfortunate suspicions and betrayals in town that play out in sad and lethal ways.

This is the 2nd book in this series that I’ve read. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can take another one. I had really high hopes but the mother/daughter relationship overshadows everything including the murder. While their issues may have been resolved it’s too little, too late for me. I may have to try one of the author’s other series and hope that they are better.

A bit different.
This one has the undercurrent of a mother and daughter difference of opinion. Now that may cause Hillary some problems with the relationship she would like with Preston than mixed into that is a mystery. Who killed the Doctor? In this one it is a bit more of the personal relationships then the mystery. It was good but not what I expected. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Police Chief Preston Davis of Rosemary Harbor drove nervously to Something Special. He had finally gotten nerve enough to move forward in his relationship with Hillary Sheridan. He felt they were finally more than just friends and he wanted more. While Annabelle went in the back to get her mother for him, Preston asked the parrot to deliver the fancy invitation to Hillary. After negotiating a cracker in return, the parrot flew to Hillary as she entered the room and gave her the envelope. Delighted, she immediately accepted the invitation to the Police Ball as Preston commented that he would like her to go as his girlfriend. Annabelle was not pleased, however – her mother was “betraying” her dead husband, being disrespectful of her marriage, and that was unacceptable! It had to be stopped! So Annabelle announced her own engagement to someone her mom would not like, a former murder suspect, just to distract her and take away from her obvious happiness.
Rose came in with coffee, and Hillary asked her to join her in the back storage room to put an order away. Rose felt the tension and knew Hillary wanted to talk in private. Rose suggested getting Annabelle interested in Milo Grandview, the new doctor everyone loved. But Hillary had a bad feeling about him. Rafe Slaven came in and said hi to Annabelle – he would be a perfect distraction! A nice guy with his own business, financially stable! As Annabelle left for a shoe sale, the two women suggested Rafe ask her to the new restaurant opening. They explained Giovanni was going out of town and Annabelle needed a date. So when she returned, Rafe asked her out for a drink, which she accepted, and he would invite her. Mission accomplished!
When Preston and Hillary go on a date, Hillary is obviously preoccupied with her daughter and not paying attention to Preston. He is upset and walks off toward the bar. Before they can straighten out this issue, Preston gets a call about discuss it he gets a call about Dr. Grandview’s murder! Of course Hillary has to get involved. Will he allow her near his case? Will they find the murderer? Will they have a chance to talk and save their relationship?
This was my first mystery in this series and I enjoyed it enough to want to read the others. I really disliked Annabelle’s selfish manipulation of her mom, keeping her from finding love again. She was way out of line. Yet it was not difficult to see where she learned to manipulate as Hillary worked at setting her up with Rafe. Despite all of that, it was a good mystery and I did enjoy the parrot, Spot. Grab your copy and find out who would have killed the new doctor!
This was wonderful. It was just the nice fast easy to read in one sitting book that I needed at the right time.
Preston wants a full time girlfriend. Hillary is not happy with her daughter’s boyfriend and her daughter is not happy about mom dating. Feels like betrayal to her father. How they work out the solution and what happens is wonderful. That is what I really like about this particular story.
Hang on they still have to figure out who killed the extremely ‘likeable’ new doctor in town. I admit I had a part of it solved early on but not the real why.
You can read this book by itself but it flows much better if you have read from the beginning. all of them are enjoyable one sitting reads.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
