Hillary is anxious about her daughter, Annabelle. Annabelle has been seeing a man Hillary doesn’t approve of. However, Annabelle doesn’t like that her mother is getting closer to Preston. Hillary distracts herself by doing a little investigating. Sticky Sweet is a mystery that has surprising twists, character development, and some tense moments. I recommend this book and the entire series.

In this book, Hillary is dead set on finding a new boyfriend for her daughter. So much so that she is ignoring Preston’s advances and he’s very put out about it. Also she is helping solve the murder of the local doctor who gives out pills like candy. Once she helps solve the murder and gets it in her head that her daughter knows what she is doing, they have a long talk and finally make peace about each of them dating.

I love this series. While the story can be read as a stand alone, it is much more enjoyable having read other books in the series. When Dr Milo Grandview is found dead, Hilary helps once again to find the killer. Her relationship with police chief Preston is a bit rocky and her relationship with her daughter Annabelle also needs some work. Great ending. This book is written very well. Annabelle, on my opinion, is being very childish in regards to her mother’s love life. I’m seriously shocked at her behavior. Annabelle angers me. I guess in a sense, Wendy Meadows did a really good job with creating this character. This book is a must read to the very end.
