Jamie is a wedding photographer in need of a break, and a sexy freelance assignment on the East Coast sounds like an intriguing getaway. He makes his flight to Vintage Ridge just before an epic storm wreaks havoc on holiday travel. But when his friend is delayed, Jamie finds himself alone at the bed-and-breakfast for the night with the owners’ son…a hunky contractor with a wicked smile and a … commanding presence. Not a problem. Jamie can handle light conversation with a ruggedly handsome man for a few hours. Maybe. If all else fails, he can read the script.
Wyatt loves remodeling old homes like his parents’ B and B. Spending an evening entertaining their guest while he finishes up his project doesn’t seem like a big deal, but Wyatt can tell there’s something special about the nervous younger man. He suggests reading the racy script that accompanies Jamie’s assignment to get his mind off the weather, but neither is prepared for what happens next. Their explosive attraction encourages them to bend the rules and stick to their own script…together.

Really hot with a bit of kink for good measure!
Stick to the Script is a bit different from other books I’ve read by Lane Hayes. It’s a bit on the kinky side with some super-hot scenes between two consenting adults. Give the blurb a read; it’s sets up the story really well.
Bad weather forces a change in plans for photographer, Jamie, and he gets a nice surprise in the form of a hunky handyman/carpenter, Wyatt. The two feel an instant connection but Jamie is wary about getting involved with someone who lives so far away. It doesn’t take long for Wyatt to break down Jamie’s defenses and they end up like bread and butter; they belong together.
Stick to the Script is a fairly quick read but it doesn’t skimp on the details needed to make a great story. The connection between Jamie and Wyatt felt real to me and Lane Hayes writing was great. While this story does take place around Christmastime, it’s the kind of book that can be enjoyed any time of year as the mention of Christmas isn’t at all central to the story.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every single book of Lane Hayes that I’ve read and Stick to the Script is no exception. The other great thing about this book (and the others in the series) is that for the first 90 days of this title’s publication, all sales and Kindle Unlimited page reads will be donated to PFLAG.

Unleash your desires
If I ever get to visit Vintage Ridge in my dreams, I’m staying at The Garden House for a few reasons. One, it sounds beautiful. Two, I want to meet Wyatt’s mom. Three, it’s like a fantasy B&B. And it included a sneaky cameo or should I say prelude? Jamie is adorable all the time but extra cute when he’s being awkward. Wyatt, umm, yes please. I love growly, possessive, tender; he hits all my buttons.
“If you’re dreaming, so am I. And I don’t want to wake up.” Yay for curiosity and storms. Mmm, Jamie should never listen and I love it when good boys go bad. I adore how Wyatt teases Jamie and becomes his safe harbor. They’re so flipping sweet together but their chemistry makes this book spark. I love the atmosphere that Lane Hayes built in this book. The storm, the sexual byplay between Jamie and Wyatt, the script, the dialogue, combine all those with some sexy kink, it’s combustible. Best of all though is the love and trust these two found. I’m so happy they made their own script.
I’m a huge fan of this author because her smooth writing style, easy dialogue, great characters, and sweet romances never fail to put me in a good mood. And yet, I hesitated picking up Follow the Script because it didn’t really seem like my kind of story.
In many ways, I got what I always expect from Miss Hayes. I loved the setting and really liked the characters. I also thought the setup was different and cute, but it didn’t feel as natural as many of her books and I never really felt that spark between Jamie and Wyatt outside of the physical chemistry. I think the lack of connection meant that heat in this book didn’t quite translate for me, and just when I settled in for more from the characters, it was over. That isn’t to say it lacked a resolution, just that I wanted a bit more time. I did like how she tied this novella into her other current series (“Starting From”), and I’m hoping that means we get a bit more closure with this couple. Overall, I think Stick to the Script is best suited for those readers who may enjoy a bit of light kink (there is some spanking and a minor D/s dynamic) in their stories. Given the polished writing and likable characters, I would recommend this short…even if it wasn’t my favorite from the author.

This was a delicious book to close out this series! I absolutely loved everything about Wyatt and Jamie. It was swoony, steamy and generally a good time. Definitely will be a reread when I need to decompress in the future!
Hot, sweet, comprehensive quick read with great characters! The kino was a great part of the story but I’m glad it didn’t overhwhelm it. Nicely done!
This is book #13, in the Ace’s Wild series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. This series is a whole lot of fun. Comes highly recommended, and not just by me.
Jamie has made it through the storm, only to find out he is the only one of his party to get there. When he finds himself alone with the proprietor’s son, he figures he will wait it out. The storm is raging both inside and out. Can he resist?
Wyatt had been helping his parents remodel, and decided to stay on and see this event through. Little did he know the hottest man he has seen in a while would step through the doors and be his alone for a couple days. Should he resist when a gift like that appears?
Such an amazing connection is shared by these characters! I was hooked and could not wait for the final pages. Always bittersweet. I was enjoying every laugh and every touch. This was a great story to read over the holidays.
